It's rare to have a Viet place along this part of Bloor St. So when I saw this place, I had to pop by to try it. The washroom is in the basement, but be careful walking as the floors are slippery. Overall, it was clean. There are about 20 seats, all high chairs facing each other. Tight!!! We got the fried chicken banh mi for $12. It was flavourful, but I wished it was more filling. The pickled veggies were thinly cut too. I prefer mine chunkier. Also, for the size, the price is above average.

Hole in the wall Vietnamese spot with delicious food. There's a few high top seats available. You order at the counter and sit down, they bring the food to you. The pho, dessert, and most of their dishes are all really good.

It's hard to find places in Toronto to eat banh xeo. This is the first time I've had it in a cone. It's a bit difficult to eat and definitely tricky to share in this format, but it's also cool to try things in a new way. You can ask for extra fish sauce on the side to add to the crepe.

Our tour of Toronto, with my friend visiting from Vancouver, took us to Vit Beo, a Vietnamese place in Bloorcourt with great ratings. Admittedly, first impressions of this tiny little shop were not great. It was a bit dark, a bit cramped, and very rustic. With other food stops planned, we decided to share a Banh Mi sandwich. Although the flavour was good, I would have preferred a bit more filling (meat, veggies, etc). Maybe that's just me. Overall, not great but definitely not bad.

Ordered food for delivery and was quite disappointed from the highly reviews of this store. The pho broth was decent but very disappointed with the contents. There was only one type of pho to order without any description of what it has but what I got was 3 thin slices of rare beef that could have looked like one and that was all for the protein. I looked online at how the pho was served and looks like in person they served different meats like flank and beef balls so not sure what happened to ours. Noodles tasted like the dry noodles don't think they were fresh. 1/5 The congee was ok I guess. Never had this type of congee before with these toppings. The egg was good but the topping made it overly salty and lots of pickled veggies made it quite sour. 3/5 Overall disappointed with the portion not sure if it would be better in person

This was one of the few Asian fusion restaurants that I've tried that actually maintains the authentic flavors! We had: Fried Squid: The squid was freshly fried and the Viet chimmichurri sauce was to die for! Brisket Croquette: My favorite item forsure. The shell was crispy but the potato purée was smooth with pieces of flavorful brisket inside Vegan Turnip Cake: This was actually the only thing we didn't love, the turnip cake was too hard and i could only taste the tangy vinegar Smashed Cucumber Salad: This was more flavorful than I thought it would be. Loved the dressing and the plethora of furikake sprinkled ontop Beef Pho: Quite surprised at how flavorful the broth was. I'm picky about my Pho broth but this was incredibly deep and rich with a generous amount of meat The service was also very friendly and food came out quick. I recommend coming for dinner as the lunch menu is missing some items that I wanted to try such as the Shrimp Toast and the Shaking Beef and the Fried Chicken. Will definitely be back to try those and have the croquette tho!

This place was so disappointing after seeing their good reviews. We order Uber delivery after landing back to Toronto. The pho only came in with 2 pieces of thinly sliced meat. No bean sprite whatsoever. Never had take out from Pho where they didn't include any sauces or utensils. Their congee was extremely salty. The only nightlight of the meal was the eggs. Won't ever revisit.

Walking into Vit Beo is so wonderful on a cold night. The smell of pho broth and commonly Vietnamese spices will warm your soul. As someone who has lived off of cheap good Vietnamese eats ever since I can remember at Pho Linh, I couldn't come to terms with spending more than $9 a bowl of pho. But I knew I had to try this place some time because it always smelt so good whenever I walked by. I tried Vit Beo for the first time this summer and have been back a few times since then. My go-to order is their beef pho ($12) which is very flavourful with noodles that are just the perfect texture and meat so fresh. With winter pretty much here, I'll probably visit a bit more because you can't go wrong with a warm bowl of noodles and soup on a freezing winter day. Other worthy appetizers worth ordering are the pok pok wings ($12). The flavour is so unique. The skin is crispy but thin and coated in caramelized fish sauce with lots of meat on the bone to enjoy. I've never tasted anything like this before. The prawn and shishito ($12) is another great option. Crispy fried prawns paired with well blistered shishitos. The salt seasoning really takes this to the next level of what would typically be a boring shishito. I highly recommend if you want to try a different, more modern take on Vietnamese food - try Vit Beo. It's slightly more expensive than what your typical Vietnamese dinner would cost but once in a while, it's nice to treat yourself to good food. You deserve it.

Vit Beo is located about 5 min from Ossington subway station on Bloor. This Vietnamese eatery puts a new spin on Vietnamese dishes that we all are familiar with. The space is hip and chill where you order your food items at the counter and pick a seat afterwards. When your food is ready, it is brought to your table. We decided to try Vit Beo on a cold Wed night and got to the place right when it opened. We ordered a rice crepe roll (crispy rice crepe, pork belly, prawn, herbs, rice paper) and "pok pok" wings (caramel fish sauce, peanut, lime) to share at first. The wings were a great combination of flavours - the fish sauce worked well and there was a bit of kick to the wings as well. The peanuts added a great textural component to the dish. The rice crepe roll was equally delicious as well (probably my favourite dish of the night). The crunch you got from the crispy rice crepe and the richness of the pork belly works well with the herbs. A delicious dish overall! Lastly, we both ordered 2 bowls of beef pho. The pho broth was comforting and had a lot of flavor. Perfect for a cold night. Overall, great place for food, would definitely return for more!

Always been on my list to try it out but was never on the way or in the area. Im glad i finally got to try it! Very unique & the vibe was chill. Order at the front, pay and find a seat to sit. Its all communal seating so first come first serve. Love this drop in and out food place with good food, unique flavours and twist to viet food in my opinion. Only downside is, it was a cold night and dont believe there was heat inside & dont expect it to be really "clean". Price point is reasonable! Would come again!

Small place with chill cafeteria vibes. The food was delish, great service and the decor was simple and unpretentious. We had: [Sea Bass Crudo] $9 - 3/5 beautiful presentation, sea bass went very well with the fish sauce, avocado and cucumber. Portion was very small, 2 bite size and could use a bit of salt. [Shaking Beef] $12 - 4/5 Generous portion, beef was very flavourful and watercress was very refreshing. Why have I never had watercress as a salad before? [Cauliflower] $8 - 4/5 So good, the puffed rice and fried cauliflower went very well together. I found the fish sauce a bit salty but my gf loved it.  [Brown Rice Congee] $11 - 5/5 I eat congee all the time, and was shocked by how delicious this was. The brown rice congee itself was extremely flavourful and the picked mushrooms and fried shallots was a great addition. I wanted a second bowl after this one. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. This is definitely fancier than your typically pho joint with an interesting fusion twist. Will go back to try other dishes!

"Wanted to try this place after seeing on Blogto." The atmosphere was wet and cold. We had gone on a night where the ventilation was broken however the owners were kind enough to give us with two free drink tickets while they got the vents sorted out. We really wanted to try this place out so we stuck it out and waited. In terms of ordering and paying it was very simple almost like a food court experience. We weren't sure what to order and the staff was very helpful with explaining their menu. We found the beef to be very tough and bland. We were mostly disappointed with the Pho as it was again very bland. I would come back again for the wings.

The food here is so salty, the amount of salt is probably saltier than the Dead Sea. My friend and I spent a good amount of time talking about how salty our foods were. I don't think any of our sentences lacked the word "salt". The food isn't bad, it was tasty and lots of flavour but portions were really small; if I came here on an empty stomach I probably would've had to spend a good $50. I ordered the wings and the dry beef noodles. Surprisingly the noodles had a little kick to them which was nice. My friend claimed the noodles to be too spicy for her liking, even with the little portions it came as. Wings were so good, would've been even better with rice since it was, you know, so salty. My friend got the spring rolls which were really good, but again--salty. She said the saltiness mainly came from the meats which is why she had to wrap the spring rolls with the lettuce it came with on the side to ease the saltiness. She also got the papaya salad which was salted with tasteless but salty sauces jerky. Honestly everything at this place was salty too the max, if it wasn't for the water we got at the end of our meal I would've dried up into a prune. On the bright side, service was awesome. Even though the joint was order food at the cash, the "cashier" would come around the (small) store picking up your trash or take away your empty dishes. It was really nice of him and he really did make the stay a little better. Now, would I return? Probably not. There are better Vietnamese joints in the area at better prices with better portions so I'll have to pass on this place.

good solid food but overpriced. Like remember when Pho used to be just 8$? Now it's almost 14$ and it's at a small size.

I previously have had Anh Dao for take out before - their pork sausages (nem nuong) are delicious and perfect when you wrap them with vermicelli and fresh herbs. Even when I got take out, the restaurant gives you plenty of fresh ingredients to create your own fresh rolls. I recently went to Anh Dao for lunch to dine in at the restaurant on a Friday around 12:30pm. The place was pretty quiet as it seemed like I was their first customer that day. During my time there, there was another party of 2 that also came in to eat lunch. I opted for the house special soup pho ($19.95). Service was friendly and my food came at a reasonable time after I ordered. The house special pho included slice rare beef, beef brisket, beef balls, and tripe. The soup was slightly sweet with a nuttier flavour. The noodles were unfortunately not the fresh kind but there were ample beef ingredients in the bowl of pho for the price you are paying. I love how in addition to siracha and hoisin sauce, there is also ground up chili sauce as well as a pickled sliced garlic and jalapeno pepper mixture at the table. Moreover, you get bean spouts, a red chili pepper, fresh herbs, and lime that you can add to your pho broth. Overall, a tasty bowl of pho where the quality of the beef was good.
