We've been going to Pho Pasteur for many years now. The food is always good, but the prices have gone up (a lot) in recent years. The portions are HUGE, so it's worth the price. But if you're looking for a small meal, it's not really an option. We've had the pho many times and the broth is amazing! I've seen many claims that there's no MSG in it, but I can't confirm or deny that. Regardless, it's delicious. The curries are also very, very good. We've had both the goat and the chicken and they have a mammoth portion of protein in them and the flavour is amazing with a nice kick. Last visit, my son had the grilled pork with rice and said it was one of the best he's had. My daughter-in-law loves fried rice and said the chicken fried rice was also one of the best she's had. I definitely recommend Pho Pasteur, but be aware that the portions are large, the meals are more expensive than your average Viet. place and that they only take cash or debit.

two bowls of soup and a plate of noodles

I tried the bun bo hue, and it had a very flavorful and delicious broth with the perfect level of lemongrass and spiciness. They gave us plenty of beef, and the portion was huge! I couldn't even finish all the meat. However, the beef shank was a bit tough. Other than that, everything was great. We also ordered the chicken curry with vermicelli. Surprisingly, they gave us two drumsticks full of meat . The curry is not too spicy because they use coconut to balance the spiciness. Anyway, I still prefer my usual favorite bun bo hue more because the soup is lighter and clearer.

I ate here a few years ago and let me tell you this place is absolutely disgusting. It was such a bad experience that I remember everything vividly. As soon as I walked into the restaurant, there was an old scent. It smelt like the restaurant hasn't been cleaned in a while. The pho they served me was the worst pho I've ever had. The soup was not a clear soup so it had a lot of blood and other impurities in it. If you ever made beef noodle soup at home, the first batch of boiling water used to blanch the beef and bones is usually discarded. Then you wash the bones and meat and boil everything in clean water. If you don't discard the first water, you get this unpleasant gamey taste in the broth. Here, they served me pho with the first batch blanching water. The pho had like gunk floating inside it (not one piece of gunk but a lot throughout). That's also why the broth is so dark... the gunk sunk to the bottom until you stir the pho. Overall, I would never eat here again. Once was enough.

Bless this place for being open 24/7. The restaurant isn't particularly small, but it's pretty crowded--especially at those late night hours. Their food is pretty decent. It's very similar to many pho places you'd find in the GTA, but with the convenience of always being open! Their prices are also pretty good too.

Special beef pho, vegetable spring rolls

Pretty good for a 24/7 pho place. Generous portions for a large pho, crunchy and tasty spring rolls. I liked the tea, it had smooth, velvety undertones I haven't tasted before at other Asian restaurants. I see complaints about the prices, but if it keeps the restaurant open 24/7, so be it.

Pho Ga

Pho'tastic! after a disappointing experience eating Pho in NY, my travela lead me to Toronto to this amazing restaurant. the place is quiet and simple but the food was something else. I had a medium Pho Ga with a white viet coffee. the pho was amazing, tasted authentic and was exactly what I needed. i haven't tried any of the other places here so can't compare but this was amazing. I will def come back for the rest of the menu.

Good decent pho, open 24/7 for all your late night needs. Service was good too! My only complaint would be that the vietnamese iced coffee takes a while to make but it's not too bad!

Menu

The pho is mediocre at best when you're sober, but when you're tired and hungry at 3am this pho is like the best thing ever. I ate here last night with a friend during the after hours, but before that, the last time I ate at this place was just before the pandemic. Nothing really changed about the restaurant but the PRICES!! Omg I never thought a bowl of soup could take such a price hike. This restaurant is one of a few places in the area that's open 24hrs so my and friend I decided to eat here because we were that hungry and tired. I was expecting gold leafs sprinkled on my soup but it was only spring onions. The pho was good but way too oily than the usual. Would I ever ever pay $20 for small bowl of soup again? No way. I will be avoiding this place until they go back to their usual price.

Pho dac biet $11.50 cad for a small.

They don't accept USD or only at face value If you're just passing through like we did. Took our money at dollar for dollar which after our meal gave them extra $40 cad which we said would be for tip and they got mad we didn't tip extra..... Pho-tasted good but had a sour taste to it and not sweet. Other than that the pho was also pretty expensive for a small- $11.50 cad but for a 24/7 pho place in the middle of the night. We made do.

Pho Pasteur is located in the heart of Toronto Chinatown and was recommended by Kai Lee (his dad is a pretty big deal in Toronto food scene). This was my first time being here and you just seat yourself and write down your order. This joint is CASH ONLY! Order the jumbo size egg rolls; it's filled with meat and toro, this monster came cut up with vermicelli noodles and a bed of lettuce. There's a lot of crunch in this eggroll- they used the rice wrapper vs. the egg roll wrapper (big difference) Fish sauce was A1, not to sweet or tart. I ordered the #1 which came with a little bit of every type of meats; meatball, tripe, and tendon. The pho broth had a northern vietnam inspired flavor; a little bit of cinnamon and star anise. Overall, it was pretty good for Vietnamese food in Chinatown. Flavor was pretty authentic. I love how this place is open 24/7 (drunk food cure) lol. anyways, if you're visiting Toronto, this should be one of your bookmarked places; esp. if you love vietnamese food. I highly suggest taking an uber because parking sucks here. Oh yea, don't forget to BRING CASH or else you're SOL!

Beef balls and beef PHO
Matt W.

This is a good place for PHO, I say good but not great in that it's not somewhere I'd drag my friends to when I really want amazing PHO. The broths aren't incredibly tasty or spicy, but regular. The same for the decor and seating. We had the beef balls and beef PHO, the balls were smaller cut up pieces and not whole balls and seemed a bit hard, the beef was a bit over cooked however the place was packed so maybe it sat in the broth too long before being brought over. All in all the service was really good and fast.

Chicken & rice

I've been trying to find a good pho restaurant in ChinaTown that also served com (rice) for my boyfriend who isn't a big fan of noodles. I ended up at PP as I actually woke up too early and all the other restaurants were closed (haha). The place does look like a 24/7 diner. The restaurant is definitely not there to look appealing. The impression is you eat and you leave - you don't stay to chat or for dessert. 1. Medium Special Pho: omg yum. The broth is deep in flavor and they have soo much noodles. The quality of the beef was decent as well. I should've gotten a small as the medium was waay too much food for me. 2. My boyfriend got the rice dish with grilled chicken & egg. The dish was overall okay in being edible and filling. The chicken quality was okay as well as there was no fat but the meat itself tasted a little dried out. There is essentially no service - they take your order paper & then give you your food. This was okay with me as I didn't expect anything else from a pho restaurant. Overall, I'd come back for the pho especially if I'm craving late at night and nowhere else is open.

I previously have had Anh Dao for take out before - their pork sausages (nem nuong) are delicious and perfect when you wrap them with vermicelli and fresh herbs. Even when I got take out, the restaurant gives you plenty of fresh ingredients to create your own fresh rolls. I recently went to Anh Dao for lunch to dine in at the restaurant on a Friday around 12:30pm. The place was pretty quiet as it seemed like I was their first customer that day. During my time there, there was another party of 2 that also came in to eat lunch. I opted for the house special soup pho ($19.95). Service was friendly and my food came at a reasonable time after I ordered. The house special pho included slice rare beef, beef brisket, beef balls, and tripe. The soup was slightly sweet with a nuttier flavour. The noodles were unfortunately not the fresh kind but there were ample beef ingredients in the bowl of pho for the price you are paying. I love how in addition to siracha and hoisin sauce, there is also ground up chili sauce as well as a pickled sliced garlic and jalapeno pepper mixture at the table. Moreover, you get bean spouts, a red chili pepper, fresh herbs, and lime that you can add to your pho broth. Overall, a tasty bowl of pho where the quality of the beef was good. Anh Dao is a tasty option for Vietnamese food in the College and Spadina area. Definitely do try their meat platters as they are quite delicious!

I tried to finish the broth because it was so good. I would have given that first bowl 4 stars! Today was terrible! It just felt like a super water-downed broth that I didn't want to drink. Everything was just boiled and dumped in a water-downed soup base. The least they can do is use broth and dump it in the seafood tomato based soup. This was a 9pm dinner. They had their own family visiting to close up shop at 11. I tried asking them what happened to the broth today but they didn't speak English or just decided not to. It was disappointing for a bowl of $21 + tax noodle that was just pretty bland tonight even though it looked the part.... The soup was pretty tasty with a natural sweetness, 2 springy half fishballs & a large, very fresh shrimp. The sauce was basically oyster sauce but pickled garlic, red vinegar, hoi sin & chili sauce were available to add complexity. The noodles weren't wet but were not dry either. Large was a very big bowl it came with minced pork, thin sliced pork beansprouts & greens. The pickled garlic was good. Also got a shrimp fritter on the side for $2.50.
