Classic hole in the wall restaurant, owned by a lovely Chinese couple. Feels like a family owned business. The portions are quite substantial and large, and will not leave you feeling hungry. You can tell that special care was taken into making the broth, which has a very slightly sweet flavor, reminiscent of wonton soup. They also have homemade crunchy crackers with a fried shrimp on top, that makes for an extra unique experience. Will definitely come back, and I would recommend highly.

Much better to go Thursdays than Tuesdays... They are closed Tuesdays. I had a great vermicelli with chicken (white meat). Nice family owners. Want to go back, try new things. She even suggested a nice combo for the sauce. "Use these two, but don't use those..."

A gem in the city. I have been going to Kim's for as long as I can remember. Great people and great prices. I love how Kim's does not serve pho but rather all the other speciality dishes. I usually order the Fukien Rice Noodle (C1), Five Spice Marinated Duck Noodle (C4) or the weekend specials. Today, I ordered the Fukien Rice Noodle. I love the shrimp cracker!!

Right before the lockdown I had only one meal left and of course I had to go to Kim, their c1 is my absolutely fav, add a spoonful of pickled garlic, some chili and dip the crispy shrimp cracker inside the soup, voila! It will warm your winter up !!! The crispy spring roll is so delicious!!! I was extremely satisfied by the portion and the great service by the lovely owner. Can't wait to come back after pandemic

This place is known for its "Fukien noodles". Being Fukienese, I had to try this! The noodles were really just a mix of egg noodle and vermicelli noodles with some frozen seafood and topped with a shrimp cracker. The soup wasn't piping hot, like I prefer, and the texture of the noodles were rough. The shrimp cracker in contrast was crispy and fragrant. The restaurant itself was was did not look very sanitary and the soup was average.

We come to this restaurant to eat only one thing: fu-kien noodle soup. It is by far the best in the GTA and has been authentic in taste since I was a little child coming here with my family. I love this restaurant and have gone off my usual chart one day to try their bun bo hue and it was very good. A little on the spicy side but the flavours of the lemongrass in the broth was mouthwatering. Their bowls usually come with generous amounts of noodles and meat. You can taste the hours that goes into cooking the broth. Service is always very quick even on busy days.

Yelp brought me here with my friends to try out. FYI, this place DOES NOT serve traditional pho, but trying out that infamous C2 was definitely worth it. It is a mix of yellow noodles and vermicilli. The toppings include shrimp, flank brisket and many others a super delicious shrimp cracker (although it was a little oily, I wasn't expecting much from a fried food). It's definitely tasty and I will be coming back to try other dishes as the price was on the cheaper side. Edited for spelling.

We've been to Toronto 7-8 times over the course of 13 yrs and just this past summer stumbled upon Kim's. Wish we had found them sooner. Great hu tieu with tons of flavor. Place isn't much to look at but service was extremely friendly and prices more than fair.

C2 special Fujian rice noodles mixed with golden thick noodles

I like to promote small restaurants because I know how competitive the market is and how disadvantageous the small place can be without huge marketing budget. I was getting my hair cut in Chinatown and a person works at the salon for a decade recommended me this place, because I was asking for recommendations for Fujian food. Fujian is a southeastern province in China, famous for seafood and light snacks. There are lots of immigrants from Fujian originally and brought the hometown taste to other countries. Kim Vietnamese restaurant (i believe) is owned by a Chinese-Vietnamese immigrant family. I ordered the Fujian (or Fu kien) inspired rice noodles mixed with yellow thick noodles, and it reminds me the taste of Fujian rich culinary culture as well as Southeast Asian inspiration. Make sure taste some of the homemade garlic sauce with the noodles. That is something I would die for. Also, it is super cheap, less than 10 bucks gets you a full meal.

First time trying my tho and fu kien style noodles, it was a a refreshing change of scenery from pho. Both noodle soups use a savoury chicken broth with a little sweetness, while I read reviews of the egg noodle/vermicelli of the fu kien noodles, the clear cellophane noodles of the my tho noodles caught me off guard lol. I actually preferred the clear noodles as they were bouncy and fun to eat. Home-y and delicious, would recommend

Half vermicelli half noodles, all taste in this famous Fu-Kien noodle dish.

This place is popular for 2 dishes: 1) Fu-kien noodles - half vermicelli half egg noodles in a tasty broth with pork slices and accompanied by a big shrimp cracker. Be sure to ask for the shrimp cracker separately otherwise it gets soggy in the broth. This is their most famous dish and you'll see most tables with at least one order of this. 2) Shredded chicken pho - this is a variation of pho, cooked with the same flat rice noodles, but the broth is different and with shredded chicken instead of beef. Also very good and flavourful. I can confirm they don't serve the typical beef pho here, so go somewhere else if that is what you are looking for. Cheap, fast and tasty - what more can you ask for? Don't confuse this location across from Dragon City on Dundas with the one on St. Andrew's near Kensington Market.

Hard to believe this is my first time here as this place has been around for so many years. I probably avoided eating here because it looked run down and after years of bad image and lack of diners, it just wasn't on my go-to place to try. I met friends here for dinner, so came with an open mind. Upon entering the restaurant it didn't look bad as it looked like it received a makeover and looks a bit modern from what I remembered in the past. Tried their famous Fuk Kien Noodles with fried shrimp cracker and it was quite tasty. The soup was very flavourful, bowl contained a good amount of pork and definitely lots of noodles. I question the freshness of the noodles because it tasted a bit off, but it may be because it was noodles I'm not used to. The shrimp cracker was a bit too oily for my liking and got soggy very quick in the soup which made it an unpleasant tasting. We ordered shrimp/pork rice rolls and fried spring rolls to share. Rice rolls contained too much vermicilli and not enough shrimp (one shrimp cut in half for each roll). The fried spring roll didn't taste fresh and was too oily for my liking - perhaps I'm just not used to such fried foods. Since it wasn't busy at all (we were the only table), we had exceptional service and the server even gave her recommendations as we had a hard time deciding on some dishes. Prices are very reasonable and portions are good size. Overall, it was a pretty good experience and I'll probably come back to try other food items as the menu is quite extensive with good selection of different types of noodle dishes that isn't your typical pho.

Tried their fuk-kien yellow noodle mixed with vermicelli, came with beef and a shrimp cracker. It was alright did not wow me, it was a little bland though but the price is reasonable $7.50 for a small bowl which I had. I saw what other people had and it looks more interesting I will try another item next time.

They specialize in meat platters where you can create DIY fresh rolls. The platters come with lettuce, mints, vermicelli, rice paper and house special sauce. They also have pho, rice, and vermicelli dishes as well. Washrooms are located downstairs which are not accessible. They only accept cash (with a 10% cash discount) or debit. I previously have had Anh Dao for take out before - their pork sausages (nem nuong) are delicious and perfect when you wrap them with vermicelli and fresh herbs. Even when I got take out, the restaurant gives you plenty of fresh ingredients to create your own fresh rolls. I recently went to Anh Dao for lunch to dine in at the restaurant on a Friday around 12:30pm. The place was pretty quiet as it seemed like I was their first customer that day. During my time there, there was another party of 2 that also came in to eat lunch. I opted for the house special soup pho ($19.95). Service was friendly and my food came at a reasonable time after I ordered. The house special pho included slice rare beef, beef brisket, beef balls, and tripe. The soup was slightly sweet with a nuttier flavour. The noodles were unfortunately not the fresh kind but there were ample beef ingredients in the bowl of pho for the price you are paying. I love how in addition to siracha and hoisin sauce, there is also ground up chili sauce as well as a pickled sliced garlic and jalapeno pepper mixture at the table. Moreover, you get bean spouts, a red chili pepper, fresh herbs, and lime that you can add to your pho broth. Overall, a tasty bowl of pho where the quality of the beef was good. Anh Dao is a tasty option for Vietnamese food in the College and Spadina area. Definitely do try their meat platters as they are quite delicious!

I tried to finish the broth because it was so good. I would have given that first bowl 4 stars! Today was terrible! It just felt like a super water-downed broth that I didn't want to drink. Everything was just boiled and dumped in a water-downed soup base. The least they can do is use broth and dump it in the seafood tomato based soup. This was a 9pm dinner. They had their own family visiting to close up shop at 11. I tried asking them what happened to the broth today but they didn't speak English or just decided not to. It was disappointing for a bowl of $21 + tax noodle that was just pretty bland tonight even though it looked the part....
