After a long day of sightseeing and beach we were just looking for some fast delivery to our hotel room so we could chill out. We had not had any pizza in the area, but after reading over the reviews on Yelp we decided to take our chances with Vinny's. The reviews were spot on. Not only was the pizza excellent but the service was incredibly friendly and fast, from placing the order over the phone to the delivery driver who brought the pie. First time I ordered a pizza to go. I called 30 minutes ahead. Showed up and had to wait 30 min because they had not started it. Tried Vinny's and was disappointed. First off we ordered a XL pizza with one half pepperoni and black olives and the other half with sausage. They charged us for 4 ingredients even though overall we had a total of 2. They said the computer could only charge that way. Give me a break. The pizza was so so nothing to write home about. Hi, I don't write negative reviews, this is special, first of all I'm 52 years young, I have and still travel exstinsively, so we (wife and family) have a week long rental on Ponte verde beach, in the house there's literature about restaurants in the area. Vinnys was said to honor renters with a 10% discount, first night we ordered $100. worth of food and received the discount. Two nights later we ordered $50 worth of food and was told discount was not heard of. We calmly left restaurant, I'm now writing this on principle alone. Trust me 10% doesn't move my purchase meter. Okay, so I gave one star because the garlic knots were excellent. Ordered the white pizza add italian sausage. We expected real italian sausage but it was very thinly sliced sheets of something that resembled sausage. Just terrible. The pizza was so thin and very flimsy, we couldn't hold the slice in our hands at all, it just flopped straight down and the cheese and toppings slid right off. Also ordered the antipasto salad, not good. No one uses canned olives anymore, we want real olives!! And it was delivered without the dressing. We unfortunately will not be returning customers. Got lasagna from this place and it was amazing and best of all they deliver to my house. In my opinion there aren't many decent Italian places around here but Vinny's really gets it done. The garlic knots are awesome also and they are cooked fresh so they aren't dry like others. I love being able to have an Italian dinner delivered to my door. The employees are always very polite. This is the worst pizza establishment in St Augustine. They used to be good but now the pizza tasted like cardboard and the artichoke hearts I paid for were individual leaves of a canned one quarter piece of artichoke with small thin leaves of that piece scattered sparsely so not even all 6 pieces had an hint of artichoke. That was supposed to be a premium topping costing extra. Delivery was an hour and a half after promised 45 minutes. Guy was rude when I called to complain. Offered me only a 40% off my next order. We are from Michigan and are visiting for a few days. We were stuck in traffic today (Bike week and Seafood Festival- which we are not here for) We really wanted pizza for dinner. We went on yelp to read local pizza reviews and find locations. Found Vinny's was really close to where we were and it had good reviews, so we stopped in. Wow, glad we did! Their pizza is FANTASTIC! Worst service in the world. called and put on hold for 10 minutes. Called back to make a takeout delivery and they said it would be 30-45 minutes. Said I'd pick up and they said 30 minutes. I was staying at the hotel next door! arrived in 29 minutes and they said to be a few more minutes and the guy started making my pizza when I showed up. There was nobody in the place! A friend suggested this place for a quick pick up lunch. They had always ordered the meatball sub before and chose that again. I ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich. Both sandwiches were large and delicious. This spurred me to try the pizza a few days later. Both my husband and I share a love for pizza. I would give the pizza 3 stars on the day I tried it. We found this on Yelp and decided to give it a try. OMG! We got an order of garlic bread and a medium pizza. The garlic bread was hands down the best I have had anywhere. The pizza was half pepperoni and half super everything. It was delicious. The crust was perfect and the toppings were fresh. This is a small place (mostly takeout) with just a few tables. I ordered a 20" pepperoni pizza. It was ok but something just wasn't right about it. The next day when I reheated it to eat some more I think I know what it was now. It's better reheated but I think it's the pepperoni that's not good. I make pizza at home and I've used a cheap knockoff pepperoni before and it wasn't good. Vinny's is probably my favorite pizza place in St. Augustine even more so than the place on St. George's street that got voted #2 in the country. Everything is always fresh and the employees here are some of the friendliest. I like that their crust is really thin in the middle and thick on the ends, they are generous with the cheese and toppings as well. Check their website for deals and coupons. My friends and I came here after a long day of driving from Indiana. The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious! You have to get their homemade pizza rolls! You will never eat frozen pizza rolls again. The short, stocky manager, or owner, or whoever he is, and the tall old man need to be fired! I went in today(Friday), in a great mood. I ordered for two people at the counter. The short, stocky manager, or owner said after I ordered that I can wait in my car and they will bring the food to me. I was the only customer there, and just lounged out watching tv, as the doors to the place were propped open, and the big screen tv was going loud. So then that manager//owner guy comes out fast at me,, in my face me, yells at me, cusses me out, telling me go wait in my car. I said to him, you dont yell at me. I am a customer, and just ordered $27 of food to go. He said you dont watch tv? You cant dine in at restaurants. I wasnt even dining in, and also never go the memo. I told him that you dont yell and cuss at me for no reason, and especially being a paid customer. I then told him he needs to post a sign outside before entering that all customers MUST wait in there cars, before yelling at them, and cussing them out. He also should have told me that I HAVE to, and MUST wait in my car. He told me as if it was my option. Then he yells loud at me after I am telling him what he did wrong, and what he is doing wrong by yelling at me like this. Then all of a sudden he snapped, and told me tot get the F out of here, and dont come back again. It was all their fault. Then the old tall man also said yeah, and we can make something up. I told him you guys are fools for treating me like this, with Google, and Yelp reviews. I guess they are so stupid, and unprofessional to care about their reputation. THEY SHOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH TREATING ME, OR ANY CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS! I was in an awesome mood, so you can imagine how bad they treated me to write this review about them. Not to mention the mushrooms werent even cooked! They were white and crunchy in my spaghetti I ordered. I asked for extra mushrooms as well, and there were only a couple total.
