I purchased two items online. Ordering online was a breeze, and correspondence with the delivery team was no hassle at all. They were able to hold my order until I moved into my new unit, which I thought was so helpful. I ordered the Valure Dining Table and I love it. No complaints. It was delivered in pristine condition, easy to assemble and made with durable material. It's exactly as it's described online. I also ordered the Valmoana Sofa in Grey after seeing the green version at their Kapolei location. When it was delivered, it was missing the legs. Thankfully, they promptly came to deliver me the missing parts. Upon inspection however, I noticed brown spots in multiple areas. The wooden detail on the bottom, is way darker than in the picture on the website and mine has a line of discoloration going across a good potion of the sofa. The cushions are also inconsistent with the outer two, too soft and already sagging and the middle one on the firmer side. It's so odd! I emailed the company and asked if I could exchange it. I was upfront and said I no longer had the box it came in, to which they said I was not eligible for an exchange. They offered me a 10% discount. I wished they could really honor their satisfaction guarantee as advertised on all their products. My mind can't seem to reconcile the fact that I'm stuck with a couch that I don't love, just because I threw away the box. Also, I sent them a picture, in exchange for $100 after receiving an email from them. I have not heard from them regarding this. read more

Over a month of back-and-forth with the Customer Service Manager and no satisfactory resolution to my needs as a consumer when given a defective product, I've decided to submit my complaint to the Better Business Bureau. My overall complaint: I'd like to file a consumer complaint against Valyou Furniture Store in Kapolei, Hawaii, due to my inability to come to a resolution of a defective product I received on September 14, 2020. The item in question is a Valoren Loveseat in blue. I first notified the Customer Service Manager (Annie H) of the defects on September 23rd through an email, when I had opened the package. The following items are what have been reported, with photos attached for verification: 1) A 12-inch deep run in the fabric in the middle of the head piece, located in a central location of the chair. This is not a mark which can be professionally cleaned, but a blemish that is permanently there. 2) One of the metal fixtures that attaches the backrest to the base was rusted. 3) When I tried to assemble the couch, the backrest did not fit into one side and now stuck in place, not securely fitted. 4) Two left-side seat couch cushions given. I've asked multiple occasions for a full refund for this defective product, as I was unhappy with what I was given and Brand's customer service overall. I do not want an exchange or store credit, which is what I have been repeatedly offered. I had paid $371.73 for the couch, and the transaction was proceeded to my credit card on September 9th. We ordered and paid for a nice table that was in stock and arranged for delivery. When the shipment was delivered they gave us the table top but not the base. We were instructed to complete the online warranty claim and provided all info requested yet here we are, weeks later, despite multiple calls and emails initiated by us, with no resolution or timeline to get us what we actually paid for. We had to go out and buy another table so we are not eating on the floor. UPDATE: About 10 min after posting this review, we got a call from their customer service and they arranged white glove delivery of the base. I changed the review from 1 to 3 stars based on this. This review is based solely off of the experience and "protocol" as I did not purchase any furniture to review. Upon entering the store, you're greeted with what looks like a TSA X-ray machine. The lady beside the machine took my temperature and then insisted I sanitize my hands. The sanitizer reeked of perfume (totally unnecessary as fragrance literally weakens the immune system.) She then wanted me to WALK THROUGH DISINFECTANT. She pressed a button and this thing started spraying literal disinfectant to "sanitize" you from head to toe. Have they done any research on what these chemicals do to you and your immune system? Of course I said no thank you, and walked around it. They instructed me not to sit on anything, which I had no problem with and respected this rule during my short visit. About three minutes after my arrival, I watched as a mother carrying a baby came in and the associate instructed her to walk through DISINFECTANT WITH A BABY. This is not ethical and is down right dangerous to a young baby. You are instructed to use baby safe laundry detergent for Pete's sake, and this associate thought it was safe to douse a BABY in chemicals???? It was horrifying. I left immediately. In hind sight, I wish I would have advocated for this mother. Spraying disinfectant on a baby is far more dangerous than her sitting on a couch. Especially after she had her temperature checked and was granted access. The furniture looked ok for the prices. A bit smaller than I expected but certainly on trend and cute. I hope the GM / owner does some research on these things and can get their money back. Also hope no other stores follow suit and think it's a good idea to have customers get sprayed down with chemicals. read more

Easy to revise an order (e.g. if you want to change the color of a sofa you ordered). Sales rep was very friendly and helpful. The only complaint is that when they delivered the furniture, Styrofoam wrapping flew all over the floor and left a mess outside of our unit and hallway. Got in trouble with the building manager. The quality of our sectional is wonderful, however, the coordination to obtain it was unfortunately challenging. We ordered the 142" feather sectional which is a 3 piece sofa. The first delivery gave me a window of 11 am-3 pm, the sofa was delivered around 4 pm. Upon the delivery, only 2 of the 3 pieces were delivered. I called the store and customer service several times and there was confusion with my order. In communicating, I additionally left a message via Instagram and sent a few emails (Friday, Sunday, Tuesday) and did not get a response until a few days later (Tuesday). In coordinating the second delivery, there was a miscommunication with the requested time. I requested early afternoon on Friday, August 21 but was given (the day before) the timeframe 4:00 pm-8:00 pm. I called to get an update (around 3:45 pm) on the delivery and was told that they would call the driver to see the status. I received a redelivery email for the following Monday, then received a text message saying my delivery will come in 12minutes. This past Monday, August 24. Anthony and Matt came by in the morning with the last piece of the couch. They were kind and polite in delivering, took off their shoes, and washed their hands prior to assembling the couch. These 2 were the highlight of the experience as they respected my home and the space that the couch was to be delivered. It is very challenging to obtain furniture here in Hawaii. The couch is very nice and comfortable. It's a great product, however, the coordination of delivery and customer service can be improved. read more

I unfortunately have an almost identical story to the other 1 star reviews. Purchased the feathers sectional on September 2nd, promised delivery September 22nd. Never happened. Contacted support they told me it was delayed until sometime in October. Never happened. Contacted support again and was told delivery delayed until end of January 2023. Never happened. Contacted support they told me they now have no idea when the couch will be delivered and can't provide a delivery estimate. Also another review mentioned their order was deleted from their account and their original account was delayed. Guess what? Same thing happened to me. Told to create another account with same email and that the order would should up within a few days. It's been more than a month and my original order nowhere to be seen. I've requested a refund as it appears the delivery of the sectional is never happening. I've also informed American Express to be prepared if the company refuses to refund the order they never delivered. It's a shame because the couch was beautiful if it's actually a real product. If it is this company needs to be transparent instead of over promising and severely under delivering/not delivering at all. Also a complete overhaul their customer service is needed as the only way I found out about the delays was reaching out each time. No one from the company ever reached out to apologize for the repeated delays or ever provide any information on the order. Will keep this post updated about the refund process and if they refund without issue or if AmEx will have to get involved. Update: as expected the company is refusing to refund my payment and is making me go through American Express. Amazing how their payment processing system works fine to charge your card for thousands of dollars but all of sudden they no longer use that payment processor anymore for refunds. If you need a piece of furniture by a specific day then this might not be the store for you. I ordered this green sectional that was supposed to be delivered by March 22nd and ended up receiving it April 1st. Overall the couch looks beautiful. The cushions are extremely hard so I would suggest going in store first to check them out before buying. The wood legs were made poorly though. They came with many scratches and it was stained unevenly. The drill hole inside was also terrible and made it a pain to install. But when it came time for the delivery, the delivery men were very nice and helpful In addition I ordered a tv stand. This tv stand was very beautiful but it came with a lotttt of blemishes. At least 5 white marks all ranging in different sizes, which is disappointing considering the price. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of (somewhat) affordable options for furniture in Hawaii besides Valyou. My only advice is don't buy from them with high expectations, and maybe wait until you receive their furniture before you sell your old furniture because it might be a while lol. read more

The Bed frame wooden crossbars were defective so delivery had to schedule another date to drop off a new piece after already waiting 4 months from the initial delivery date. Totally blown away! Let me explain. I just moved into a new condo from a 40 year old house. I decided to start a new chapter in life and wanted all new furniture. So it was out with the old and in with the new! Over the past 15 years, I've always dreaded purchasing furniture. The daunting task of finding great quality furniture for an affordable price was merely a dream which one could only imagine, until I found Valyou! I found Valyou on Facebook Marketplace, my usual go-to for furniture as it was mostly preowned and cheaper than a brand new highly marked up big box mainland retailers everyone and and their mother goes to. I saw a post on FB marketplace by Morgan Callaway, an angle sent from heaven I'm sure of this. I absolutely loved the furniture he was selling and after a few minutes, I realize he was a Valyou representative. I had a few questions and thought I'd send him a DM and inquire about the furniture and delivery services. Let me tell you, I was impressed that he instantly replied to my DM. Mind you this conversation between him and I started just a few hours before midnight. Realistically, I didn't think he was going to reply til at least 8-9am the next morning. We struct up a conversation and he answered every single questions I had about their furniture, shipping, delivery and even assembly. Not only is he very knowledgeable about their products, but he listened to my concerns, questions, and replied with very helpful tips and resolutions to every one of my concerns. After speaking with him via FB messaging, I ended up fully furnishing my condo's living room and dining room! After paying for everything on their website which by the way is a breeze to navigate and the furniture on the website seemed to be updated constantly to assure you that what you're buying is definitely in-stock or not, I received an email from Lauren over at the shipping and delivery department requesting to set up delivery of all the furniture I just purchase only minutes earlier. Again, just like Morgan, Lauren was extremely helpful and tended to my concerns of the furniture being delivered only on certain days and certain hours as I live in a condo now with the load of other people needing the elevators. Lauren did her magic and boom! I have my furniture being delivered within the next few days. As a local business owner myself, I am absolutely blown away at the customer service, the simplicity of working with Valyou and the the true value this complain provides. I will be purchasing more furniture for Valyou in the future and I highly, highly recommend this place to anyone who wants quality furniture, genuine and honest customers service and really investing in furniture you'll have for years to come. The store is open, inviting, and very high-tech with their "cleansing station" at the door and with employees walking around with iPads. I purchased the ValMinimal sectional at the store to receive 10% off. They confirmed with a digital receipt and emailed me a day before delivery. While the delivery was a little inconvenient (they gave me a 4 hour window and just sent a text saying "we're 1 minute away"), it was still worth it for free delivery. I am happy to have been heard!!! i ordered a sectional that I could not get an accurate update on no matter how many reps I spoke to. So I changed the sofa model to receive a sectional in a timely manner. I got the new sectional but was due a refund of 300+ dollars and was given some out dated run around about when I would received the refund first it was 7-14 days, then at 23 days I was told oh it's 7-14 business days, or you are in a que waiting for the company to refund you to you will have the refund by 6/27, and never received the refund until this morning. So they never processed until I blasted them on social media and then blocks me for telling the truth about their customer service instead of fixing the problem or apologizing to me the customer. That was back on April 20. Initially was informed upon purchase it would take 2 weeks. We waited. Never contacted us regarding our order. We reached out on 5/4 via phone call and email. Customer representative told me the table was done. Then told me it wasn't and may take up to 4 weeks. Since then I called to speak to a customer representative, I was disconnected 2 times and immediately received a text "how can I help?" Apparently they conduct their inquiry by text, can't even speak to an agent. So I went in person to the Honolulu store where I purchased our table. Keep in mind, I've been texting and emailing all this time, it's been now going on over 6 weeks trying to have someone give me an idea how long more before my table is ready. Customer representatives and in person reps keep telling us we will follow up, contact you in 24-48 hours and no one does!! We have to keep taking the Initiative to reach out and find out the status of our order. Also, when I respond to the agent over text, another one comes on asking how can I help you and what's your order number which I already gave to the 2 previous agents! They need to revamp this way of communication to their customers because by the 3rd time it was very frustrating! We've been very patient and extremely disappointed regarding the customer service regarding the status of order. Hope they can see it through the eyes of their customers regarding the frustrations we are feeling, especially investing purchasing merchandise from their store, which I already bought some items. I finally got a response today regarding when my table should be done. My main disappointment is why does the customer have to keep following up, someone, if they truly appreciate your business should follow up with their customer.
