Oh this is disgusting. This place is just... sooo incompetent. These people (except for maybe 2 workers here) have zero brain cells dedicated to their job. I mean, they dont even try here. How management doesnt fire them after 100s of complaints is wayyy beyond me. HAS to be family cuz theres no way... not in a government job. Step it up here ppl. Do your damn jobs u get paid handsomely for. I had a time sensitive. And i mean damn time sensitive package.. I created tracking label at 4am in the morning... dropped it off at 9am same day. Priority. How is it it doesnt get scanned "accepted" until 33 hours AFTER I dropped it off?! HOW?! When i went in there some some construction going on in the lobby. Im sure if i asked them this'll be the stupid excuse they use to twirl their damn thumbs 24/7 behind counter. If you live on the west side of simi, just go to the east end and use galena. At least theyre straight forward with it. And they dont hide yur package for no reason at all! Man imagine that ! read more

Even though I mainly just drop off packages here, the times that I have waited in line - staff was friendly and helpful. When lines get very long around the holidays, they try to address people with fairly quick transactions to make lines go faster. They don't always have a wide variety of stamps available, but that's usually a personal preference. read more

The employees always have a problem with something I'm trying to ship. Then I ask what the problem is and how to fix and they never give me advice. On top of that they always tell me to use different boxes everytime and when I bring the box they told me to use they tell me that's the wrong one too... so frustrating!! read more

This time in tax season I send out many envelopes (hundreds) with organizers to my clients. Every year when I'm sending them out I seem to get the same Representative, and his name is Omkumar at the Simi Valley Galena branch office. He is patient with me and he handles my Mail in a very courteous manner. During this pandemic we all have to maintain patients but Omkumar has always maintained that patients. Good job. read more

Again! Same women ! Very Rude to me while shipping to Israel her name Yvett Everytime I go to her window to send to Israel where I have 9 grandchildren my Son and Daughter in law living she is as Rude as can be ! She refused to finish with me today she told me go stand in line and have someone else wait on you because I said to my friend who was with me she s being rude again ,so she tries to send me to the back of the line ! So I said no I just stood in line you can finish up she refused she said no ! so I told the supervisor he said ok here get in Kathleen's window she will help u then he went back to his computer I bring someone with me everytime I go there . When dropping off packages the mail person just drop some off at the front door and walks away no knock no ringing of the doorbell nothing to indicate that something has been dropped off at your doorstep piss poor service if you ask me but typical government worker. read more

A package was delivered incorrectly by USPS, they delivered it to the return address instead of what was labeled, in large letters, on the package. Because of convienience I went to a different post office since I thought that it wouldn't matter since they are all USPS. Had to talk to the supervisor, Dave, and he was extremely rude and not helpful. Really lacked customer service though he admitted that the error was not my fault. He had to be paged twice to finally make it to the front. read more

These guys continue to deliver mail and packages to the wrong address. And it's not like it's off by a a couple digits or similar names. Not even close. And the Supervisor doesn't give a crap because it continues to happen after numerous complaints. No accountability whatsoever. read more

I have been using the Galena Post Office for over 25 years and quite a bit for packages over the past 6 months. They provide great customer service, have a reasonable wait time if any, and decent selection of stamps. New and (likely close to retirement) seasoned staff have been stable and attentive for many, many years. My local postman, Mark, is amazing and has been consistently for at least 7 years - even giving dog treats at Christmas in appreciation. Whether shipping or receiving, never a package lost over the past 10 years. Tracking and speed of delivery has never been better. My retired postman, Steve, carries his civic duties still representing postal workers in a leadership position and serving our community as a volunteer. My friend was discriminated here today. I do not take these things lightly, but i need the business to retrain staff on how to be polite and courteous to people of all backgrounds. This interaction happened at around 11am today with a staff member by the name of Donna. I hate singling you out, but it is unacceptable to tell a person they should learn English so they can be helped. Luckily the other staff member had proper customer service was able to help him out. My friend has called the customer support number and has written out a statement so anyone in management can check up with him there. read more

Three packages lost to never never land...New postal driver is the worst... No matter how many times we ask packages to be delivered to side door instead of front door, they do not listen. I would normally never yelp about this but the driver who took over the east end especially Rory Lane...Is completely in competent. Dave was the greatest!!! really miss him. read more

I went into the post office today my daughter was having a bit of a meltdown and crying but I needed to send out my packages was there for less than 10 minutes then one of the postal workers KAREN literally said "someone needs a spanking and said if it was her daughter she would spanx her I was so upset I cannot believe someone that works in a government office would make abusive comments about a toddler she should be fired. Basically wants to abuse my toddler just because she is upset and crying less than 10 minutes and mind you I go to this post office quit often !!!!! read more

This is the best post office around! Forget the other locations and drive the little extra bit to this one because the staff is extremely helpful and very pleasant to deal with. I've been to this location dozens of times and my favorite postal worker ever, Katharine, gets me in and out of there like a breeze! She has a fun and helpful attitude, and I always enjoy visiting this post office! I recommend this location above all else! read more

I called the post office this morning to ask a few questions about our neighborhood mailbox being vandalized and broken into. I was inquiring about how long it takes to get repaired and if my mail needed to be picked up. The absolutely rude lady who I spoke to first informed me that my HOA is responsible for fixing it, which we don't have, she then told me that I would need to speak to my neighbors and come up with the money ourselves and replace it, that they don't own them anymore. WHAT?!?!?! She asked my zip code and then told me I had called the wrong post office. Thank god I called the wrong one, because the lady that I spoke to at the correct one on the West side was so friendly and actually helpful!!! read more

The worst experience of all. Paid $125.00 to have a two day shipment of perishables sent from Kentucky to Simi Valley. Stamped all over the package perishables and dry ice. It took two week to get to my house so you could imagine the stench when we received the package. The post office is refusing to reimburse the shipment. Forget about the perishables. Don't ever pay to overnight with the US post office. Use FedX. read more

Usually it's a good visit but for the past few visits it seems I, along with many friends, get stuck with ANGELA. The front desk worker named Angela is an absolute pain to deal with... she had lied to me about shipping costs, treated me rudely, and even called me names ("stupid" to quote her). Came to buy stamps for wedding invitations and seeing how the line was long I decided to use the kiosk. The stamps at the kiosk were only Charlie Brown chriatmas, I didn't know those were the only ones I could purchase, I thought I would be able to pick out the design. So I stand in line to exchange them for a different design and apparently they're non exchangeable. read more

I would like to call out YVETTE specifically. First, what really upset me is that after every client she would leave her place at the counter to text message in the back (we can see you through the racks!) if there are cameras in the backnid be happy to provide my time and date I was there so cameras can prove my claim, extremely unprofessional when you have a HUGE line and limited people working. Next, there was a very nice worker I spoke to that explained to me that I had to fill out the new box I purchased before I got to the desk, that's fine. Unfortunately, she didn't say I had to assemble the box and insert my two t shirts in it before I returned to the desk. When I returned to the desk Yvette was a b*tch and gave me an attitude (a customer who already waited in a long line (while watching Yvette go in the back and text message) and then had to wait again to be re-helped and couldn't just as a courtesy just allowed me to close the box (literally not figuratively for 3 seconds) and just allowed me to ship my item. It's called customer service! Maybe Yvette if you wouldn't keep leaving your post to text message on your cell phone you would be able to accommodate clients better. Yvette is EXTREMELY unprofessional and very rude. Won't be giving my business to this location anymore. read more

I just had a wonderful experience at the Post Office. I had a birthday card I had to send to the Ukraine. Not having a clue how much postage to the Ukraine would be, I figured a trip to the Post Office was in order. On my lunch break, I zipped over there, hoping to beat the crowds of other people going to the post office on their lunch break. When I pulled into their parking lot, I saw it was fairly empty. I got a spot right away. I got out of my car, and walked into the place. There were two people at stations, and one customer ahead of me. One of the post-peoples was closing out her register, so i had to wait a good thirty seconds before the other customer was through. I handed the card to the clerk, we had some witty banter, and she rang me up. I then walked out the post office happy and contented, knowing my letter would be in Romania in the next five to ten business days. The whole visit took about 5 minutes. Thank you internet communications and email. Good job Simi Post Office! Quick, fast and inexpensive. (FYI: Postage to the Ukraine was $1.05) read more

Obviously the United States Postal Service is a mess by itself. No one is ever thrilled with them, myself included. I had a package that was supposed to be shipped to my friends house (as I was in the midst of a move and my change of address was processing). Somehow things got messed up and the apartment number wasn't included. The company that shipped the packages decided that my items needed to come in 3 different boxes (not USPS's fault, but added to the frustrations). They were all supposed to arrive on Wednesday. On Thursday, the first package went out for delivery but was undeliverable due to the lack of apartment number. I called USPS and they told me the package would be at the Simi post office. Great, easy fix, I can go get that. NOT! I went to the post office on Friday morning, assuming that both packages would be there, since that's what I was told over the phone. I waited in a pretty short line for the post office, so that was at least a nice thing about this post office. Then came the incompetence. The lady who was helping me, asked for my name and the shipping address and disappeared into the back to assuringly find my package. After 5 minutes she comes back and asks for the tracking numbers. She searches again...can't find them. Pulls up the tracking in the computer system and tells me that one of the packages is here and goes back to search. Another 5-10 minutes goes by. She comes back saying it's not here and asks if I want to speak to a manager. Of course I do, I want my package. The manager comes out, looking very disinterested in helping me and asks what's going on. I tell him the situation and he tracks my packages. He tells me that one should be there and that one is out for delivery. He then goes into the back to search. He returns...no package, so at this point I'm getting extremely frustrated and a little bit sassy. I raised my voice and loudly expressed my concerns about my packages that were supposed to be here but aren't. He gets mad at me for yelling and says that he's trying to help. He then goes in the back again and SURPRISE, he finds the first package. I ask what I'm supposed to do about the second package which is "out for delivery" and he has no actual solution for me. After being there at least 30 minutes, my second package mysteriously appears. I don't know what their system looks like in the back, but it clearly needs an organizational makeover. I can't imagine how going to the back 6 times to find 2 packages is any kind of efficient. read more
