If you go to the post office during the holiday season and expect to be in and out in a minute you are not realistic. Half the people get to the counter unprepared and expect the clerks to do all the work for them, which slows down the process. So, if you want to be mad at someone be mad at the person who comes to the post office at christmas unprepared. Try being pleasant yourself and you might be surprise how nicely you are treated. This is none of their business. They don't understand that the UK does not have "provinces". It does though have counties. One time a lady at the front desk looked visibly annoyed as when I lined up she was playing Pokemon Go on her phone. She imagined that she was being paid to play video games rather than run a post office. Another time a gentleman employee did not understand how to fill out a customs form and adamantly gave the wrong information. They have mastered the art of making you feel insignificant. Over the years I have watched them play favorites telling one person that they need to stand aside while amending a form because "other people are in line" while immediately wasting a lot of time frivolously chatting with a customer about their vacation. Apparently they "knew" them. You will frequently queue up for a long time indeed. And they lack a clock so far as I can tell so you don't as easily notice. So why not give it one star? Well it is open lengthy hours - something I am deeply appreciative of. It opens at 7:30 am allowing you to take care of an urgent matter before work. It is conveniently located next to the commuter rail and close to various forms of parking. It has post office boxes and the full plethora of options from a full service branch. Sometimes they will quickly give you what you need of it simple, like a book of stamps. Indeed the best way to deal with the employees is to keep things as simple as possible. If I had better options I would go elsewhere. I wish there was a way to force government services to be less condescending and rude.

I went into this office for renewing my kids passports and I was forced to do do expedited request…read moreeven though I did not need to. I knew how the procedure is and explained that it's not required and all we need is to send the renewal form and the "about to" expired passports. This Chinese guy (the only postman who was certified for passports service) was not willing to process for me if I didn't expedite it... He was extremely rude. He indicated that he would not care if other location would process it but not at his location. So I went to Waltham location and had it done within 15 minute. I happened to go to the Boston Passports (head quarter) location a year later for my passport for business trip and brought up this incident to them. They indicated whoever worked there in Medfield need to retake the training again. I would suggest to go to Needham, Dedham or Waltham location if it's not too far for you. The people there are a lot nicer and experienced. This one star is for the cleanliness of the location. As far as the passport service sadly to say this Chinese man deserved nothing.

She wanted me to use a credit card. When I laughed and said, I can't believe the US government doesn't have a $20 bill in the drawer, she said that they are not part of the government! I said well I certainly hope they don't bail you out anymore! Finally, she made change with a ten, a five and two ones, but she was extremely rude.
