I stood in line for some time during the holidays to mail my packages and found that the staff were efficient and helpful in getting packages/mail processed. Unfortunately, not unlike other businesses, there is some assumption that you know your way around the post office processes. I found that if you ask the questions they respond. I have used this post office twice. My first time, I was the only person in the office. I had to…read morewait a while because the only employee there was in the back smoking. I paid for it to be shipped in 2 days and it took 3 to get to the expected destination. The second time, I paid for it to get there in 2 days and again, it took 3 to get to the specific destination. While I understand slow service and slow mailing isn't the end of the world, when I'm the only one there and have to wait or when my packages constantly arrive later than they say it will arrive, it becomes frustrating.

Good to call ahead for passports for an appointment, but they can do them as well with no line. In the summertime there is an ice cream and burger stand next door, so you can make a nice outing of it if you have kids in tow or are hungry.

Off the beaten path I over heard some of the locals talk about swinging by the Post Office. In my experience I haven't had much luck swinging by the Post Office. Typically I go in with my Yelp app in hand. I had to check this out and to my amazement I found this Post Office tucked into the shopping plaza near the Green Chili and the hardware store. Yes it is out of the way in Saxonville but the drive over beats the time I've had to wait in line at the Cochituate location. The line there is long and NO one. NO ONE is happy on either side of the counter. Don't get me wrong, I feel for the clerks that come in to do their job to get the huff and puff of those having to stand in line. I guess if you don't' know and you are in a hurry then I can see how the frustration can begin to build. However, I have yet to see where tapping your foot got anyone closer to the front. So depending on which side of town I am on I will either venture to a UPS Store or to this location.
