I would also recommend you call ahead if you need passport photos as the machine was down today. Thankfully I had my pictures taken beforehand. The postal workers were friendly and especially nice to my son and gave him a coloring book while we were waiting. I was confused on the passport requirements and they were helpful in explaining what was needed. Don't forget to bring a checkbook or debit card (money order) to pay.

She wanted me to use a credit card. When I laughed and said, I can't believe the US government doesn't have a $20 bill in the drawer, she said that they are not part of the government! Off the beaten path I over heard some of the locals talk about swinging by the Post Office. In my experience I haven't had much luck swinging by the Post Office. Typically I go in with my Yelp app in hand. I had to check this out and to my amazement I found this Post Office tucked into the shopping plaza near the Green Chili and the hardware store. Yes it is out of the way in Saxonville but the drive over beats the time I've had to wait in line at the Cochituate location. The line there is long and NO one. NO ONE is happy on either side of the counter. Don't get me wrong, I feel for the clerks that come in to do their job to get the huff and puff of those having to stand in line. I guess if you don't' know and you are in a hurry then I can see how the frustration can begin to build. However, I have yet to see where tapping your foot got anyone closer to the front. So depending on which side of town I am on I will either venture to a UPS Store or to this location.

Priority Mail, Express Mail and you can buy boxes if you're sending your package First Class or something else. There was a bit of a queue today and it took a little bit to get to be able to purchase a small number of postcard stamps. They have drive-up for post boxes so you don't have to exit your vehicle. That's right- the college has its own zip code. This was to circumvent the dry laws that Wellesley had so that Babson College could have its own pub, now called Roger's Pub after the founder of the school. History lesson over.
