We used Anton's Movers this past week for our very short and sweet move to a neighboring town in MA. I did some research and despite being located further away than some places in Boston, I chose Anton's because their website and estimate-obtaining service is very easy, they have competitive pricing per hour, and they were super flexible. I wasn't sure how much I was able to pack so I wasn't able to give them a good idea of whether I would need packing or not but they were cool with whatever. The movers were very nice, professional, young, and CUTE. They were super fast with everything and got the job done in less time than I anticipated with the final price being in the neighborhood of the quote. My ONLY issue is that with essentially every fragile item they asked "do you have room for this in your car? (we were packing up our car simultaneously to speed things along) because we'd have to wrap it and charge you for materials" which felt kinda weird, that is why I hired you after all. It's possible they were just trying to help keep the costs down for us but I did feel pressured to move some things myself. This was the easiest and least stressful move of my life, especially considering a complicated move involving a local move to a Boston storage unit and then a long distance move to NYC. Quote was incredibly competitive, Tony and his team were super responsive over call and emails, and the team of movers were on time, quick, and professional. I was worried at first as I wasn't able to be on site at the storage unit for either parts of the move, but I was able to text and call the lead movers in charge and they made sure they locked up and then emptied out the unit perfectly. I used these movers a while back, and I had a bad experience with them. Their movers scratched my expensive wood dining table by putting moving boxes on top of them and then carelessly taking them off. I took photos and called to complain, but the representative didn't want to speak with me and told me to deal with the mover myself, then proceeded to give me that guy's number, which was weird, uncomfortable and unprofessional. When I called and complained to the crew supervisor, he hung up on me twice before I had no choice but to let it go. For a long time I was meaning to write a review, and I finally do so. Unbelievably great! Anton's quote was unlike anything I found from any competitors and the service was beyond what I expected. Honestly, the price was so good I worried about the service, but I was plesantly surprised by how great the entire team was. Everyone I encountered was professional, courteous and treated me with care and priority, even though I knew I was a part of a much bigger move that day. I can't recommend these guys enough. Anton's moving set the bar to a new low for me in terms of moving experiences - and I've probably moved about 8 times in the last 12 years. The team leader was extremely unpleasant and created a very hostile and confrontational environment right as the packing started. He was complaining how under packed we were and how he was expecting this to be a quick job. Even threatened to cancel the job and leave before they got started. This is despite me trying to contact the company the day prior to go over the inventory (my call was never returned). So these guys came with very few additional boxes, while my wife and I had to frantically pack stuff into whatever we had, using clothes to pad kitchenware and other things into garbage bags. In the past, every other mover I used would have simply brought extra boxes in and packed them with a smile. Not Anton's. Ultimately, the move took exactly the amount of time as was originally quoted anyway. But the level of unprofessionalism was astonishing. If I ever saw one of my employees interact with a customer that way, he would be fired on the spot. It's obvious this company doesn't actually do customer surveys after moves, because no way would that shit fly otherwise. Oh yea, don't bother asking them to wear masks if you're concerned about Covid. First they lied about not having masks, then when I pressed them that I had masks for them, they suddenly found theirs. Then for the first half the move they would kinda sorta wear them, and didn't bother at all for the 2nd half of the move. I was too tired to complain about it at that point. I highly recommend Anton's Movers. We hired Anton's Movers to empty our large POD and settle into our house. The movers showed up on time and were ready to work and brought all of their own equipment. We started by showing them the rooms and then they were able to bring all items to the correct locations after that one time. They wrapped our large furniture going upstairs in moving blankets and didn't mark up any walls. They also moved some odd items like a heavy duty table saw, boxes of tools, and even plywood for our platform bed. This company and the movers they have are amazing. We had no dents or dings in any walls or furniture. They were strong both physically and mentally and only took one break at our request. I would 100% recommend them to anyone! read more

EDIT: I'm updating my review below (previously 3 stars) after Anton's got in touch with us and made the situation right. I feel pretty confident that they are taking this seriously and despite my previous feelings I would book them again. ---- My husband and I have used this company twice. Both times they were efficient and punctual at the start of the move. They took good care of our belongings and didn't flinch at the trickier items or stairways. However, I do think it's important to note that each time we hired them there were interactions that left me uncomfortable. The first time, one of the movers noticed some boudoir-style pictures I was packing up and after confirming the pictures were of me, commented on how appealing he found them and then ogled me. This last time, the guy who seemed to be in charge asked me to clean up the boot prints his guys had left on our floor so he could put down mats, and as he watched me clean, he commented that his favorite things in the world were good food, the ocean, and watching women clean. Additionally, the movers left the first location about 10-15 minutes before we did but didn't show up to the second location until 20+ minutes after we arrived. We asked them what happened and they said they stopped for tea? I believe we were charged for this time. Lastly, I don't believe I saw the guy who seemed to be in charge wearing a mask at any point. Although their prices are okay and they do a decent job with the move itself, I don't know that we'll be looking them up next time we move. read more

I've used Anton's three times now to move a Studio apartment's worth of stuff within the area, and each time the movers have been on-time and efficient, and have shown just the right amount of care to my stuff. Last time, I started disassembling my bed frame while they started taking stuff down to the truck, and by the time the frame was disassembled, it seemed like my apartment was pretty much empty. They come with their own dollies, carts, tools, and other miscellany (ex: a special carrier for mattresses). You can tell they know what they're doing. Last time my movers were Rudy and - Urg? The handwriting on the receipt is a little hard to read. Thanks guys! After our latest move using Anton's, I have to continue to sing their praises! We moved during the snowstorm on January 4th. Anton's knew our move date for many weeks, and knowing the storm was coming, moved the time up to make sure they could still get us moved instead of canceling. Manny and his crew showed up a little early, got the truck loaded in record time, and made it to our new apartment just as the storm was getting really bad. I was not only impressed with their speed and friendliness, which is the norm from everyone we've encountered from Anton's in the past, but the fact that none of the guys complained about the weather says a lot. BAD experience getting a quote. Expected better after seeing good recommendations. Saw 950 online and then got quoted 2790! They weren't willing to show me the breakdown of the costs and had a lot of things in small print as extras (even though I communicated we wanted them included in the quote). Used Anton's last Friday, the day before the Nor'easter storm and they were a 5 out of 5. Set the move out of our apartment 5 or 6 weeks in advance and good communication via email and direct call. Follow-up notification a few days before the move. Three guys arrived on time, packed up pretty quickly and drove our stuff to the Cape and arrived as expected. While at our Cape, unloaded quickly and , bonus, moved a few pieces around our Cape house that were not part of the move. Movers were polite and wore masks in an appropriate fashion. Cherry on top was the final bill was a little bit less than the original estimate range. Great job Anton's and you get a 5/5 and my recommendation. read more

We had a great experience moving from one Boston neighborhood to another earlier this December. Dennis and Donnie were the best, very fast and very professional. We had some larger furniture that was assembled in our apartment that I was worried about getting through the tight entry way but they were able to do it with care. We had most of our things in boxes before they came. More delicate furniture and items with moving parts were wrapped in cloth and tape before carried out. I was especially impressed with how efficiently they packed the truck. Everything was strapped down and organized in a way that made unpacking it equally efficient. At our new place there were some more tight spaces and a door needed to come off its hinges. They were able to do this without skipping a beat and had the door replaced before they left. Overall moving with Anton's Movers was a great experience. It only took about 3 hours and ended up being more affordable than the already affordable quote they gave us. Sergey and crew made one of life's most stressful events pleasantly bearable. I submitted a request last Monday, and got a call and quote almost instantly. It's the peak of moving season and they were booked until 2 Sundays later. But when we inquired about any availability later in the day this past Saturday they happily obliged. We were moving from a 2 bedroom 3 story townhouse to a 4 bedroom house. Little did I realize we own much more furniture than average and I have more hobbies than average. They booked us for 1 large truck and 4 movers. After their first job they arrived at 4:20 and scouted the layout of our home. Within 30 minutes they let us know there was the option of requesting 2 more movers and 1 small truck to speed up the process -- more in the hourly rate of course, which is prorated once the second team arrives. But the total would've been a wash and we'd much rather they be finished earlier and not exhaust themselves. In just under 8 hours these fellas wrapped everything and disassembled/reassembled some of the bigger items for easier transport, including over a dozen mirrored/glass items. They were all smiles throughout the day until the very end. We can't recommend this company enough, the quality of service and care far exceeded our expectations. Happy moving season! read more

To be fair, I can't say anything about Anton's movers or their work. This is because they never showed up. The scene this morning was my worst moving fear realized. We had the truck in front of our new apartment, we had even begun unloading everything onto the sidewalk in preparation for our 7 am moving slot. At 7:20, my husband was grumbling about my ability to book timely movers. (I called Anton. No answer. Left message.) At 7:30, my husband was carrying boxes in and I was calling again. (No answer. Left message.) At 7:50, my husband was PISSED and I was in a panic. Was I wrong about the time? (No.) Had I accidentally given them the wrong number? (No.) Had I missed any calls or overlooked any voicemails? (No.) Was I supposed to call the day before to assure them that I had arrived in Boston? (No.) I called again. No answer. One more message. With my tail between my legs, I called three other local companies and left them shot-in-the-dark SOS messages. We moved half of our things up three floors and then - wahoo! - at 8:20, we got a call from The Other Guys Movers (a propos, no?) who said they'd have a guy there in 30 minutes! (He was great, btw. See my review there!) At 8:39, I got a call from Anton's saying they were on the way. I asked if they normally show up 1.5 hours late without any notification, told them not to come, and asked to have the manager call me back. (Still waiting on that. Am not surprised.) With all the glowing reviews, maybe this was a rare error on Anton's parts, but being unsure of whether your movers are going to show when everything you own is on the sidewalk AND not having any way to contact them was a horrible way to start moving day. Even if it only happens once in a blue moon, once is too many times when it comes to moving! I recommend looking elsewhere. read more

The evening before our move, we got a phone call from management asking if we were able to make our move happen faster to accommodate their schedule. It happened to work out well for us so we said yes and our 2-day move turned into a same-day pickup/dropoff.
