Anton's Movers did an incredible job handling my move from Brookline MA to Brooklyn NY. They quickly offered me a quote (which was accurate to my final price) and, when I hit some roadblocks with my new apartment, were extremely flexible in pushing back my move to the subsequent week (note that I moved in a low season, mid-January). Their communication and flexibility made a stressful situation so much better. The pickup and drop off itself were done quickly and professionally by their crew. Right before christmas) and wondered what's in store for us with the move since it's the peak of holiday season. But thanks to Anton, the entire move process went great. Manny,Phil and Modesl called us on the day of the move and arrived on time.They then scanned the whole place and started picking the packed boxes very systematically and arranged them in the truck.It was raining really bad during the move but the guys made sure nothing went wrong. We had a bit of a complex move -- 2 stops in Boston to collect mine and my partner's stuff, then moving to Philadelphia with the full truck. Everything from Anton's Movers was professional and courteous, from working out the details for our quote, to the movers who showed up and did such an awesome job. The evening before our move, we got a phone call from management asking if we were able to make our move happen faster to accommodate their schedule. It happened to work out well for us so we said yes and our 2-day move turned into a same-day pickup/dropoff. It was absolutely amazing and we arrived to our new home with boxes in the right rooms and our bed already set up to crash on, with the movers facetime-ing us while we were on the road to make sure things were looking right. Anton's made my move from Boston to Manhattan way easier than it had any right to be! I had partial packing in Boston (mostly my kitchen and some other fragile things) and they were incredibly careful with the packing and the move. Absolutely nothing broke in transit and they labeled boxes "Super Fragile." They arrived early on both ends and quickly got to work. Their pricing is fair and the guys are friendly and really efficient. It took them two hours to pack and about an hour to unpack the next morning - same crew in both spots. They helped me unroll brand new rugs (after moving the furniture in) and even fixed a wobbly leg on a shelf. I chose them for the price and for the fact that they were the only company I contacted that seemed to know the weird quirks about a Manhattan move (elevator hours, street parking, insurance, tickets, etc.) that even I didn't know yet. I've had some terrible movers (especially local in Boston), but these guys were a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend them! read more

I've used Anton's Movers twice now and they were friendly and efficient both times. The whole process, from requesting a quote to the final move, is very easy and they are always available if you have any questions. We had to push our move back by a couple of weeks at the last minute and it was extremely simple. The move itself took exactly two hours door-to-door and cost exactly what I expected--no hidden fees/surcharges. I always find the process of moving very stressful, so I'm glad I can count on Anton's to make it go as smoothly as possible. They're probably fine for a local move--if you're going from Allston to Somerville, go ahead. But do not trust any estimate that they give you. Here's my experience. We were moving from Belmont to the Midwest in late December, so I could start a new job on January 2. I spoke to 6 movers and got estimates to move us out of our apartment (2nd floor of a 2 family house) as well as to move things out of our storage unit (we had downsized when we moved to Belmont). I sent Anton's 25 pictures of our apartment, the basement, and our storage unit, and they gave me an estimate and told me what size truck they would bring. The movers were scheduled to arrive on the morning of Dec. 21. A bit before noon on Dec. 20, I got a call from Tony at Anton's saying that they had miscalculated their estimate, and the price was going to be $2000 higher than the quote. He told me that if I wanted to cancel the contract and find another mover (in the span of 20 hours, 5 days before Christmas), they would do so without penalty. There was no way to cancel the contract and find another mover in time to get us moved by the time we had to be out of our apartment, so I had to say Yes. The movers showed up the next morning, and they were great--hard workers, careful with our stuff, expert at wrapping. They got our apartment emptied and then moved on to the storage unit. They got about a third of the stuff moved onto the truck, and then said they were out of space (which was true). They said they had no way to get a bigger truck--they rented the size truck that Tony told them to get--so everything that was left in the unit had to stay. They drove our stuff overnight and got it unpacked really quickly. But I was left having to continue paying for a storage unit on the East Coast, and to find a way to get it packed up and moved west with no help from Anton's. So either they are incompetent at estimating how much space a move will need, or they are dishonest in the estimates that they give. Either way, if you are contemplating a long-distance move, I would avoid them like the plague. read more

Moved from Boston to NYC and explored multiple options. These guys are by far, the absolute best! They are exceptionally good at communicating, give a direct price quote, take care of mattresses in an awesome way (actually use a decent thick plastic to cover items, not the saran wrap that rips like others) and really do care about the furniture and experience. Best part is, they are incredibly helpful and polite. They understand that moving is stressful and give 2-4h windows about their arrival and pickup times. We were looking to move from Boston to NYC, and found Anton's Movers based on the great reviews. They have a flat price for Boston to NYC, with pickup in the evening and delivery in the early morning. The flat price included labor time, furniture blankets, tape, and plastic wrap. This was the cheapest option by far, with the highest reviews, for an intercity move. I looked into 5 other moving companies which were usually $200-$500 more expensive. The movers were professional, polite, and very fast! They loaded up the truck in 20min, and unloaded it in 40 min (this was including 3 flights of stairs!). Nothing was damaged, and it was really easy to work with them. The movers were also very punctual. We would use them again if possible! read more

Wow are these guys quick and thorough. We thought we would be hours and hours, but they were done by noon (started at 8am) including travel time, loading and unloading. We had four people and we were so impressed with their efficiency and care for items. Just what we are all looking for in movers, I think. I recently used this service to move from a luxury Boston studio apartment in to a house just outside of the city. Please read this review if you are on the fence about choosing a moving company as I sincerely wish I had known this before. For a company with such positive reviews, it's astounding that they were allowed to get away with such egregious deception and lack of service. The movers arrived on time and seemed fine at first. They were very quiet and did not introduce themselves, but I was just happy to be moving. Then I realized this was not the 5-star service I had read about in the other reviews. The two movers took my pre-packed bags, boxes, and furniture and moved them into bigger boxes. I thought, sure they are just being overly cautions and this must be part of their package. I offered my help to make the process go faster, but they insisted on doing things by themselves. Anton's movers charge by the hour and I was wanting to move as quick as possible. This is why I was shocked to see them intentionally set the freight elevator off and then wait in the elevator corridor for 10+ minutes at a time. Luckily I had pre-packed and moved over half of my belongings prior to their arrival. Still, their quote was vastly underestimated. If you are like me, and looking for a good moving service at a reasonable rate, DO NOT TRUST THEIR QUOTE. Once at the new address, one of the drivers decided to take a smoke break while on the clock. Also, I'm writing this in the middle of the pandemic. I was wearing a mask the entire time (for both their safety and my own), but I cannot say the same about Anton's employees. On a somewhat positive note, they were cautious with my furniture and only damaged one item: my bed frame. Now, this is why I'm writing this review. I rarely write reviews as most services are not good or bad enough to warrant a review, but Anton's is the exception. As previously mentioned, the (Anton's) boxes they put my boxes in, were an additional charge of $7-15 per box. Not to mention they charged me $20 for tape and they went over time by an hour and 40 minutes (this was just a studio apartment where most of the items I had already moved myself). In total, the estimate was barely half of the billed price. Lastly, when leaving my property, the drivers called me "f***ing dumb" for already having moved all my kitchen belongings and some of my clothes before their arrival. I will not stand for such deceptive billing practices and terrible customer service. I will never be using Anton's movers again and I encourage you not to either. There are so many other good moving companies in the greater Boston area. read more

If I could give these guys a negative star, I would. I've never used them but had an issue with their movers. I asked them nicely to move so I could park in handicap. They gave me an attitude but finally moved up just enough that I could get my van in the handicap spot. I asked them again to move because they pulled up just far enough but were still blocking the other handicap spot. The black guy was giving me an attitude and yelling at me. He continuously yelled and screamed at me while I was taking my handicap child out of the car. He became extremely loud and vulgar towards me, I felt threatened and feared for my life and my sons. I tried calling the company numerous times and left many voicemails and still no call back. Such a shame that I was harassed and screamed at for asking nicely for the movers to move from blocking two handicap spots! read more

Hired them in 2015 and remembered when looking through old expenses. cost be $1050 to move from Providence to Canton, MA. was quoted closer to $750. Bought them lunch per online suggestions but think they took advantage. Apparently, they upcharged for drive time down to our location prior to picking anything up. Really puts into view the $950 flat charge for Boston to NY. Just paid it to get them out of our house and give us the rest of our stuff. Recently, I moved from Back Bay to the Seaport area. Before selecting a moving company I did a lot of research and found Anton's to be highly rated by multiple sites, including Yelp. Setting up a reservation was painless. A quick call and not only was I finished in a matter of minutes but I was also given a link to confirm the reservation. On the day of the move I was a bit nervous because we reserved the loading dock at the new building until 1 pm and I didn't want to be late, causing an inconvenience on the first day. Anton's said they were going to arrive at 9 am but to my surprise they were there 15 minutes EARLY! They went straight to work and the whole move was finished by 12:30!! It was unbelievable how quick, efficient, and good the movers were. They made it look easy and handled all the boxes with the utmost care. Moving is always stressful but these guys were so amazing, it was like a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders and I could relax. I HIGHLY recommend giving them a call if you're moving. There was an additional charge for having to hoist the couch over the balcony which I was fine with. But they charged like $70+ for ticky tack stuff like furniture wrap and other packing materials. I meant to publish this awhile ago, but with the move, I didn't realize that the review I started was not yet live. My apologies to the fabulous three gentleman who helped with our 5/23 in town move. First off- I reached out to three or four companies for quotes- Anton's was fast to respond and very professional. First plus there. I felt like we were in good hands already. I rate movers on a few key things- were they on time, did anything break and was the amount of time reasonable... They were all of the above and very professional as well. They notified me that they may be a bit late due to traffic (which as we know in Boston can be the norm on a Monday morning at 9am), and were not really that late at all. The 3 guys we had- Sergei, Christian and Manny I think- were fast, professional, courteous and very cautious with our goods. Our dog even acknowledged they were doing a stellar job by not barking as much as she normally would :) I would highly recommend Anton's - they made something that's usually a nightmare easier and more seamless. My profession is one that focuses on customer satisfaction, and I tend to be very picky. Anton's exceeded my expectations and I will continue to sing their praises. Bob Villa I am not. Hell, I'm not even Lucille Ball....so I hired movers. That's what we do in the city. I've never moved more easily in my LIFE. I sent them a thank you card the next day. They packed like my move was a National Tetris Competition. I moved on a Monday and they gave me a window of time for arrival, showing up exactly in the middle of that window....ok with me. I moved from a one bed in Southie to a one bed in Cambridge. Very little stuff and everything was in labeled boxes. That's right, I'm type A. 2 hours.....from "Hello" to my hug goodbye (I'm a hugger. Try it....everyone needs a cuddle). 2 hrs including travel, kitchen table take down/set up, awkward chatting and all. They were polite, called me ma'am and, as a single 20 something lady, I didn't feel weird at all. Total cost for 2 guys, a big truck (no idea what size, again...Bob Villa I am not) and the minimum charge for time= $270. More including tip. Not bad and worth every penny! 2 thumbs and a couple really great bear hugs up for these guys! read more

We recently moved from a 3rd floor walkup in Salem to a house in Melrose. I received 5 quotes and Anton's was the cheapest. Given their highly rated yelp reviews, I decided to give them a try and I'm glad I did. They called about a half hour before arriving to let me know they were on time. Everything was out of our 3 bedroom condo (and basement storage) within 3.5 hours, and into our new house in another 3 hours. Overall with travel time the move was 8hours and was priced on the low end of the range that they had given to us. Nothing was broken. Spasibo, Anton!! For saving our backs, for saving our sanity, for saving our relationship (there would have been blood if the Lady Friend and I had had to do this ourselves). Booked for September 2nd, after the storm. Got the discount rate for scheduling for after the first of the month, AND another discount for having them do two moves back to back (well, two separate apartments into one new one), bringing the price down to $70/hour for two movers, the truck, the insurance, the whole kit and caboodle. Our two movers were magicians - "for our next trick, we will make this wall of boxes disappear from your apartment and reappear tightly packed on the truck. And for our next trick, we will redistribute them in your apartment before you can recite the alphabet". On to the Lady Friend's apartment - wash, rinse, repeat. All together took 6 hours, not even, breaking down two apartments flung across town(s) and then piled into our new little shack of sin, without a single banged or dinged piece of furniture, lost box, or complaint. We salute you Anton's, and will toss shot glasses on the floor in your honor. (Only minor quibble is the a certain lack of pro-active, or any-active, communication after scheduling they move. We did have to reschedule once, and this caused much hand wringing and worrying and headaches, but the change went through, and everything worked out in the end) read more

NIGHTMARE! CON ARTISTS!! Do not use these movers. I used them to move from Dorchester to Cambridge (Alewife) and they were utterly unprofessional, and I ended up having to call the police by the time the move was over (it was like a bad movie). They screamed at me and used profanity telling me my packing job wasn't good enough, and when I asked them why my lamp was broken they continued to get violent and use profanity and scream at me, and threatened to take my stuff and leave it on the street and/or pack it all up and leave if I didn't give them, "cash in the spot." 100% accurate summary of the day, as scary as it may seem. I began crying in fear and the men moving me started laughing at me. I mean, who could ever imagine being in this horrific unreal situation?! The police arrived and told them to put my stuff in the house and leave asap or they'd be arrested. They basically threatened me then tried to extort cash from me before the move was over. I never thought movers could be such felons. Do not use them. This is a true horrific story and I have all of the emails and receipts to prove I was a real customer of theirs. They are just tying to hide potential customers from a tragic true story. read more

Interstate moves are never fun, but the gentlemen at Anton's made the entire process stress-free and incredibly easy. First and foremost, they provided a fair and the LOWEST price of any mover to bring a studio apartment's worth of items (which, for me, included a large sleeper sofa, chest of drawers, and an HDTV along with 15 packed boxes) for a FLAT rate from Massachusetts to New York City. I don't live in Boston -- in fact, I'm 20 miles north and they honored this deal. They also let me use the Yelp offer to get $50 for only $20. I worked Tony with to take care of all scheduling and he confirmed everything using their online system. He called the night before to confirm and give me an estimated arrival time. The morning of the move, he called again to let me know when he was 20 minutes away. Tony and Alex packed up my items in under half an hour and then we hit the road in our respective vehicles. He called again when he was 20 minutes away from my apartment and I arrived just before they did. They were patient and did not mind the crazy drivers trying to get down my block -- accommodating both them and keeping me happy the whole time. They got all of the items upstairs in record time, taking the stairs two flights for the sofa since it didn't fit in the elevator. They were gentle and took great strides to ensure that all of my items remained in their original condition. The bill included some minor charges for packing items, such as wrapping the furniture and taping items -- which was very reasonable and WELL worth it -- as well as outlined on their site for ALL moves. I can't say enough nice things and STRONGLY recommend Anton's. Kudos to Tony and Alex for taking such great care of me. If you're looking to move, don't hesitate and work with Anton's. read more

After reading several reviews and getting quotes from their competitors, these guys had the most reasonable prices, including a flat rate, and were flexible to work around my schedule. Anton's Movers was the best decision I ever made. I originally had a move date of August 1st, but when it got moved up a week, Anton's was available. They brought a 16-foot truck for my 2bed2bath, and managed to fit everything in (a small miracle). I imagine that they play tetris at a pro level when they're not hauling furniture. Not a single thing was broken, scratched, or damaged. They were quick and professional and very friendly-- even when they discovered that I had packed my keys (genius move, I know) they quickly adapted and rolled with the situation to help me get them out asap. R B Cooke did the original move and refused to take the box spring and king size bed frame. They also forgot about the microwave. I hired Anton's Movers to correct this odd refusal and oversight. They were able to do it the same day as I called them. They worked quickly and charged me $180.00 for moving these two essential items. They were polite and friendly without allowing it to interfere with their work. They worked on an extraordinarily hot day without one complaint.
