We had a great experience with our moving company and would highly recommend them. They were very…read moreresponsive and kept in touch with us daily before the move, always patiently answering my questions and helping with anything I needed. The team was professional, polite, patient, and extremely hardworking. They helped me pack almost the entire kitchen, did a tremendous amount of heavy lifting, and were very accommodating with all of our belongings. They were also incredibly smart and resourceful--for example, they figured out how to get our washer through an extremely narrow doorway when we weren't sure it would fit! They truly went above and beyond to make our move as smooth and stress-free as possible. We really appreciated all their hard work and would definitely use them again.

Christian and Jack (hoping I remember their names right) came to the rescue this week! My scheduled…read moremovers flaked, and I called around frantically. Precision hadn't opening and were there a few hours later. They moved me quickly and professionally, despite the short notice and tricky, narrow one-way streets , were able to handle very heavy, very awkward things and easily took doors off their hinges and put them back without anyone being the wiser. I can't say enough, good things about them, and although I hope to not move again for a very long time, I would hope to use them again. They were amazing. Can't recommend enough. Oh and they charged HALF of what I was quoted from every other moving company!

Smooth efficient move , wonderful team to Ice and sorry I forgot his partners name . Best move ever!read more

If I could put 0 stars. I would…read more I chose Born to Move based a written quote from the company. Before booking, I was quoted approximately $480-$560 to move a single couch from Chicago to Madison at a rate of $160 per hour with a three-hour minimum. Their website advertised that the hourly rate included the truck, movers, gas, tolls, mileage, insurance, and furniture protection. Based on those representations, I reasonably believed transportation-related costs were already factored into the quoted estimate. Imagine my surprise when my final invoice came to $960 -- approximately 71% higher than the estimate. The invoice included 3.5 hours of labor and an additional 2.5 hours of travel time, adding $400 to the final bill. My issue is not simply that the move cost more than expected. My issue is that the estimate, website advertising, and billing structure did not align. The website repeatedly states that transportation costs are included, while elsewhere disclosing that travel time is billed separately. Important pricing information appears buried deeper in the website rather than alongside the headline pricing. I also found multiple hourly rates listed throughout the website, making it difficult to determine what pricing actually applied. Had I known the move would cost nearly $1,000 rather than the quoted $480-$560, I would have obtained quotes from other moving companies before booking. To make matters worse, after filing a claim, I was informed by the claims administrator that the review process can take up to 120 days and that no status updates would be provided during that time due to call volume. As a customer, being told to wait up to four months without any updates does not inspire confidence that concerns will be addressed promptly or transparently. The movers themselves were polite but unprofessional. The pricing transparency, billing practices, and claims process left me extremely distressed as this was a gift for my mother and I had saved up for it. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to get detailed written clarification regarding travel-time charges and total expected costs before booking.
