I came to this UPS store to return something from Amazon. The Amazon app let me pick specific locations to return my merchandise. It specifically says no box or label needed. Just bring it and let them scan the QR code and you're set. I went to this UPS store location in Watertown this morning and it was not a good experience at all. I should've known, as it has never been a good experience in the past. The older lady there that helped me was surprised that I showed up with just the product (which was in the box - just not an amazon box). She had to check with her manager (older gentleman)...who came over with a tape measure and was like "we can only ship items less than 16". The box was about 17" and he made it seem like he was doing me a favor by accepting it. The lady proceeded to scan my QR code and was like "I'll have to mail it like this (without putting it in another box) and I hope you get your refund from Amazon. We are not responsible. This can get lost or stolen". I asked if she could at least tape the opening to make the package more secure, since she wasn't willing to put it in another box...she said no and reiterated several more times "I hope you get your refund etc". Whatever. Returning something shouldn't be this hard, especially when Amazon pointed me here with those specific instructions. There is clearly a disconnect. This UPS store is not about helping customers. Everything felt like they were doing me a favor, ugh! I would not go here again. I'd gladly put the item back in a box and go to USPS or something instead. I wouldn't have gone here in the first place had the app offered the Wholefoods return option - always a good experience there! read more

This owner and employees of this UPS store have always been helpful with holiday shipping advice; and last Sunday, the owner, Shawn (sp?), saved the day, helping me test and print labels for name badges for a big, two-day work event. I couldn't print the labels at work, so I decided to print them at this UPS store. When it became clear I'd used the wrong template (off by millimeters!), we printed the information on regular paper...and he took the time to trim the labels and help insert them into the plastic badges with me! I cannot be more grateful for his spontaneous and kind assistance. He could see I was panicking and needed help in making an evening deadline. For this kindness, as well as for previous advice in shipping--and not because it's around the corner from where I live--this is the UPS store I'm patronizing for as long as I live in this area (and closely beyond)! read more

The folks here were very nice, but our overnight package was completely lost - never scanned. It's been a month, and they never found it (they claim it was delivered, but at 5am..at a location in NYC that opens at 9am. If it was delivered, they just put it on the street in front of the building...). We were eventually partially reimbursed for the shipping cost (apparently UPS' policy is not to reimburse things like the fuel surcharge and some other fees, no exceptions). Despite being verbally promised a $100 reimbursement for contents, we never received it. UPS customer service repeatedly promised to call back when we followed up, but never did. Most of this negative experience was based on UPS customer service and policies - just a warning to those choosing between UPS and places like USPS. read more

I am a customer of theirs using an online account for our business going on 15 years and this was the worst possible national account experience I have ever had. The Indian man who works here obviously despises woman & spoke to me so rude today (literally out of no where) all because I asked him if they were the only location in Watertown MA. The worst place that I visited ever! The old man and woman both like in their 60's were EXTREMELY RUDE! I went there to drop off two heavy packages. After scanning the Amazon barcode, they suddenly asked me (who was a woman less than 100 lbs) to move the two heavy packages (each about 50 lbs) from their front desk to their back warehouse... Both the old man, and woman never ever willing to offered a hand helping me....If I did not do that, the old man said with a very rude, un-respectful voice and waving his hands "If not, just GET OUT THERE with your stuff!" Sounds like they could not wait me to leave their store, like evicting an enemy... I was very astonished. Finally, I had to call my friend, (a guy) came to the UPS for helping me to move the packages from their front desk to their warehouse. Also, no one helped us though they were not busy. I went to so many other UPS store, no one ever asked me do to this. Even if I needed to do this, at least being polite and know how to respect people. My estimated delivery was for yesterday. It didn't come. Which is fine. Then today they attempted to deliver and "missed me" when I was home all day. No one called me or buzzed me. Very rude!!! It seemed that it was a complete chore for the gentleman there to even acknowledge the customers. He refused to scan a bar code for a return (as is customary when you have a UPS return label) because he wanted me to PAY $3.00 to have the label emailed to the store. I saw him have the same attitude with other customers that came in and they were late with an order for a customer that walked in and was told she would have to wait, no excuse , no apology , just "it's not ready". I just went in to ship a package with a pre-printed label but needed 2-3 inches of packing tape to seal the box. Instead of using their tape gun which was in view, I was told to buy a $6 roll of packing tape if I wanted to ship the package. When I questioned this, the woman working the desk told me every shipping store does this. Then, she told me to , "Try to be happy." This place is close to my home but I won't be going back. This by far the worst UPS store I have ever come across. These guys charge 4$ for using a computer just for few seconds i.e. to put in usb and get the prints. How else we are supposed to get the prints? They don't even have printers with direct usb slots. Never never never never visit this location. Many of the people posting negative reviews are mistaking this UPS Store for the regional shipping center that UPS also has in Watertown. They are two different businesses. The shipping center is owned directly by UPS. If you didn't receive a package on time or don't like how they didn't leave a good note on your door, that's the regional shipping center, and the store has nothing to do with it. The stores does not delivery any packages at all. If you have a complaint about UPS delivery, write a bad review for the shipping center. It's totally unfair to give the UPS Store a bad review for something they have nothing to do with. The UPS stores are basically franchises that are owned by individual owners. This store is one of the latter. I've been a customer of this UPS store for 9 years and am very happy with their service. I've had a mailbox there (and still do), and I've also shipped many things from there and everything has gone perfectly. The level of care and service has been exceptional. The owner is super helpful and his employees are too. I've seen a few reviews that kind of attack him for having a foreign accent, which I think is really unfair. For starters, about half the people in Watertown are Greek or Armenian, and that's part of what makes the town special. Secondly, even if the owner of this store was one of only a few people who have a foreign accent, it's very unfair to attack him for that. He deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Most of our ancestors also spoke with an accent when they first arrived to our country, so it's very hypocritical for people to criticize anyone for that. read more

Avoid this location. The staff is cranky and rude, particularly the woman who regularly works the counter. On top of this, they will nickel and dime you on everything. I tried to return something from Amazon, which specifically says bring your item unpacked along with your return barcode and simply drop it off at any UPS location, they will do all the work. The guy at the counter told me my item (an unopened quilt) was too big for the Amazon supplied bags and that I need to buy a box, and packing supplies, to return my item. I was not doing that. After I left with my item, the man behind me in line said the same guy tried to charge him $3 to print his shipping label for an Amazon return. I drove the 5 minutes to the Belmont location, walked in and told them I had an Amazon return. The guy at the counter asked for my barcode, scanned it, gave me a receipt and wished me nice day. I would give it 0 Star if I could. This is insane that they charged $3.18 for print 1 piece of paper, black and white. I walked in and was looking for a "USB slot" on the printer just like many other UPS. But I found none and I asked the staff and he said "you can use the computer to print it out " so I did. So when I checked out and he said "$3.18" and I thought my hearing was having a problem and I asked again with the same response and I was in shocked! He pointed at the computer and I found a label behind the computer saying "2.99 computer charge". That's such a scam without telling your customers in advance. The owners are lovely people and the people who work for them are always very accommodating and friendly. Service with a smile every time . The store is very clean and neat and well organized and the staff is very helpful when I need to make copies, enlargements or anything else. I happen to be really uncomfortable with any equipment I'm not totally familiar with and usually need to ask for help. Worst customer service experience i have had in a long time. An older woman and man essentially interrogated me when I went in to pick up a package I had shipped there via Ups Access Point pickup. They were beyond confused why I was picking up a package there. ?? I would have had it shipped to my home but last time I did that UPS wouldn't leave my package (i was home. Terrible customer service. I first went to the UPS store in Porter Square (also terrible) to ship some boxes using a UPS ground account number (prepaid). I was informed that I couldn't do that at that store (after unloading all my boxes) but that Watertown may be able to. I then called Watertown before driving all the way out there and asked if I could ship some boxes UPS ground with my account number. The man who answered the phone (didn't get his name) said YES, OF COURSE THEY DO. So I schlepped my boxes all the way to Watertown carried them into the store, and announced myself as the person who had just called about using the account number. The clerk started weighing and measuring my boxes and putting labels on them. When he was done, he indicated that I can pay by swiping a credit card in the reader. I reiterated that I was using a UPS ground shipping account and he replied "oh no we can't do that here." I had called him and explicitly asked if I could do that and he said OF COURSE! He didn't seem to have the tightest grasp of the English language, but if you don't understand the question, do not answer it and send me all the way to your store for nothing. When he realized that I wouldn't be using his services, he said "next customer" and began helping the guy behind me! My gf and I then began peeling off the labels he had affixed so that we could load all of the boxes back into the car again. He then said "no no you can't just tear them off I need them to cancel the tracking number!" If you need your labels back before we can leave, why don't you peel them off yourself before helping the next customer! Did he expect us to wait around while he helped everyone else in line before he returned to us? Ridiculous. Terrible customer service. Never received an apology for not being able to provide the service promised over the phone. I then went to the FedEx store in Harvard, they were friendly, professional, and processed my packages with my Fed Ex ground #, no problem. Should have gone there first. Worst store to deal with. I had a package shipped going through the Watertown store. I needed delivery changed to a different access point because I was going to be out of town during the delivery. The first time it was out for delivery, it was unclear if the access point accepted it. Watertown ultimately ignored the change request; even though it said delivered at the access point, it was delivered to my home address. Fortunately, I was in town by the time it was delivered. I get it's busy at this time of year, but in general, they have poor communication. read more
