The manager was scheduled to be in but didn't show up at the right time, so there was a line of people waiting for fingerprinting. Everyone in line had an appointment for the same time. I had an appointment to be fingerprinted. When I arrived, I waited in line. The clerk behind the counter asked why I was there. I told him. He replied that the fingerprinter wasn't there. I asked when he would be arriving. He told me that he didn't know, that he had an emergency. I replied that I had driven 20 minutes, and didn't want to drive back and forth again only to find that he wasn't there. The clerk chided me about how emergencies happen. The clerk offered to call to see when/if he would be coming in. Which he did. But then the clerk didn't bother to tell me what happened on the phone call until I asked. This is non-existent customer service. read more

Seeing that they have past mediocre reviews I had to add a positive review due to my excellent experience here. Two people were working there. For service, we flew right through as five people were taken care of in about 45 seconds! of course no one had anything super complicated but that quick service was much much appreciated. The people were friendly, and they are very accommodating - able to reseal the shipping bag that my wife's clothes came in and send it right back without wasting any more material. In summary, my visit was so quick I can't say much more but I have to say something must've changed. Someone else mentioned new ownership. Whatever it is I was very pleased with my visit today on December 30. Bonus: the container of starburst chews for the guests is a nice touch. read more

Honestly this store should be the blueprint for all UPS stores. We have lived in many places and used UPS for both personal and business needs, with this location far surpassinge ery other experience we have ever had. I generally was nuetral to dissatisfied with the customer service, whereas this location is beyond helpful alond with just genuinely being nice folks. Absolutely DO NOT GO HERE. We were just at the store for package return and printing. We were charged $5 for computer usage/printing assistance by the employee at the time, plus the printing fee. During the printing, we asked the employee to delete the emails we sent to the store printing machine and she declined by saying that "no one cares about your information". Later, we were bothered by this and came back to the store, asked the emails to be deleted again. The employee refused and said that she will do it after all the packages were processed and we should leaver her alone with her job. At this point, we again asked her to delete the emails as we only had one customer after us. We even asked how long it will take for her to process the packages and she said she doesn't know. She then went towards the back of the store and start telling us that she will "beat our ass' multiple times and swore at us, all this was happening when her daughter was watching. We felt threatened and ended up calling police. This interaction absolutely ruined our day and we will never be back at this location. If the owner/manager is reading this review- you guys should absolutely review the footage from today. read more

Just your standard ups store in Cushing square. Parking can be a hassle like everywhere in the square but you can usually find a spot. I usually just drop off an amazon package and go on my merry way. There usually isn't a wait and the guys who work there are pretty nice and helpful! read more

Just went in to ship a bulky item to my father. The originally packaging I had was a bit flimsy, so they recommended the right size box, charged me a very modest amount for it, and offered to pack it up and tape it up and label it for me. The whole experience couldn't have been any quicker or easier. Thanks very much for the great service! read more

The best aspect of this store is the proprietor, who always seems to be there. He goes the extra mile to solve your problem and shows a personal interest in you. I asked him to bind a special book created by my granddaughter and he came up with creative ideas for making it special. Definitely worth the trip. read more

I don't think I've ever been so annoyed with an establishment in my life. I went in to make some copies of a few documents for my accountant, and the copier wouldn't turn on. When I mentioned this to the owner (at least I assume it was the owner), he proceeded to walk to the machine and treat me like I've never made a copy before in my life - AND he started making copies incorrectly. He switched the orientation of my document (while looking at me like I was an imbecile), and refused to believe that you could actually copy a document 1-sided to 2-sided (which was particularly insulting to me, as I spent 6 years of my life working in print/copy shops). When I questioned him on his assertion that 1-to-2-sided was impossible, I finally said, "I can handle it myself, thanks," and he responded with a snippy "fine - do it your way" and walked away. The worst part, however, was when I had to do my shipping. It was a simple job - just three large envelopes with magazines that I was mailing to a colleague. I specifically requested that it be just Priority Mail (which I've done plenty of times before at the Post Office, and I've done at this UPS store as well) - he decided to offer me Parcel Post instead, and charged me the 2-pound rate, even though each package was a little over a pound. When I questioned the $7.60 that he was trying to charge (since it should have been about $4.60 at the most, according to the USPS website) and asked "is this the Post Office rate?" he insisted that it was. It was only when I got home and checked the website that I realized that this man had ripped me off and charged me twice as much as I should have paid. I never would have gone in there if I didn't need to make a copy (I usually go to the Post Office up near White Street), but I will never walk in there again, even if I do need to make copies. The combination of rude service, refusal to listen to the customer's specific requests, and generally being ripped off is more than enough reason to avoid this place - especially since there's a wonderful Post Office just up the street (and closer to me!). UPDATE: There is a new ownership in place. These guys really take care of things. They're proactive, and provide friendly and helpful service. They offered to call when I get important things in the mailbox, which is awesome - saves me a lot of unnecessary trips to check the mail. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a mailbox there. I often receive other people's mail, because they are not careful about which box they put your mail into. They never admit their mistakes, such as the time that I received an important contract 1 month late (they said it had just come in, even though the USPS tracking showed it had arrived on time). Their work is sloppy, and most of the employees seem frusterated. If you call, they can get irritable. I once called, and the guy barked that he was too busy and hung up on me! I had to call 2x more until he answered my question. Then, I called the UPS Store feedback toll-free number to complain. They screwed it up, because they told the guys in this branch that I called to complain and now they're especially cold - with the exception of Lee who is suddenly friendly! The positive is that if you get a mailbox, you can check it anytime, because you'll get a key. read more

Try this experiment: Walk in, ask for a set of 42 cent stamps. Think you'll be charged $8.40? Think again - they'll probably tell you it's $9.40. It's happened to us time and again - buy a random number of stamps and they will ALWAYS give you the wrong price (always more of course) "by accident." Do yourself a favor and go to an actual USPS to get stamps. read more

Went there today to return something. I didn't have any tape with me to secure the box so I let the man at the register know this. He promptly notified me that returns require the box to be taped and that it would cost me $1 for them to do it. I said ok. Another customer next to me walks in and she asks to borrow some tape- the other employee quickly obliges free of charge! What? At least be consistent while I'm there. Bad business. Won't return. So I dropped off 3 packages, I noticed one of them I actually had the wrong weight. I kindly asked if I could get one back. The older guy basically screamed at me, we can't do this! Funny thing is you can void labels and they have done it for me before. You work there, how do you not know? I have an Amazon store and could risk my business by having the wrong weight. My entire business could be shut down over this mistake and the guy said we can't do it, when he could! These guys just don't care. You will notice many people have called these guys extremely rude. Every time I come in, they have an attitude. Today, the guy told me to never go back all because I asked him to void the label! He said I always have an attitude when I come in. I literally walk in drop the stuff off and get the receipt. I literally say nothing. Many times I come in with extremely heavy boxes and these guys have never even attempted to open the door or help one time! Never, not once. I assume the bald guy and the old guy are racists. This place has the worst customer service I have ever seen in a business. If this were any other business, this business would collapse. Since it is UPS and people just drop stuff off they will get people coming in. The bald guy and the older guy are extremely rude. Bald guy has been giving me an attitude for months. The older guy was nice to me but the past few months has been an absolute douche bag. I literally just come in and drop off packages. I don't even say anything. I truly believe these guys are racists. I have seen them treat white people much better for the few they treat well. The other guy who works there who is taller, has been nice to me every time. Those other two guys could learn from him. They have a simple job, to just scan an item. I remember a few weeks ago, I also came in and the store was going to close but was still open. I asked the bald guy, so will the item be shipped right now? He's like why don't you go ask the driver. Saying it with an attitude. It's your job to do that. It just blew me away. these guys have a BAD reputation. you can almost tell just by walking in; not people you want to trust. i stopped using them even for copying due to the general negative vibe. i would nevert trust them to properly pack $15K in art i was shipping, so i did it myself. but then i decided to let them pack and double box what i had already done for added assurance. what could go wrong, i had already taken care of the primary packing? talked to lee, the owner, and he said he'd put bubble wrap around my packing and use peanuts (which i hate, but this is expensive art) and box it up. he quoted $18 to $27 for the job. the next day i returned and a nervous woman gave it to me and charged me $75. i then took it to kinkos/fedex in waltham to ship (never trust ups for expensive items). since it had a high value on it they needed to open it up to check that it was well packed. inside we found that lee had simply put a cardboard box around what i had done - no bubble wrap and no peanuts and it was loose inside. kinkos/fedex told me that they would have charged me only $22 and would have made sure that the item was well packed with bubble wrap and not loose in its outer box. i returned to the ups store in cushing square (near the watertown line) in belmont to get my money back and complain. the owner, lee, was rude and nasty. he started yelling that he told me on the phone that it would be $69.99. he is a liar - he never mentioned $69. this guy is a liar and a thief and a screamer and his employees are not much better. this place will rip you off and laugh about it. they overcharge for work they do not do and just hope that you will not look inside the box. obviously, they do not care whether your items will arrive undamaged - after all, the shipper would be liable, not them. there are other ups stores, and also kinkos, that charge (Much) less and actually do a competent job. read more

I couldn't be happier with the owner of this store. I ordered a product that had labels on the seams saying the item couldn't be returned if the label was breached. I get there all excited for the product ready to sign for it and runaway. The owner stops me and points out that the label on the bottom was cut and resealed. The owner also dealt with the UPS driver who insisted that he couldn't accept it back since it had been resealed. After the owner spoke with him they took it back and the owner had saved from a very expensive mistake. I really suggest giving them a shot. read more

I've used them in the past for dropping off packages and having documents notarized but today I was treated really poorly. I tried to have a UPS package delivered there since I wasn't going to be home. I was notified by UPS that the UPS store refused delivery of my package. I called and was given two bogus excuses - first that they didn't know who I was and second that they had no room for the package. The UPS website should not have offered them as a delivery option if they're going to treat customers this way. The main UPS office is not far away in Watertown and that's where I'll do my business from now on. read more

I cannot praise the Belmont UPS Store highly enough. Professional and friendly. I visited this morning, with a large carton of assorted breakable items that needed to be repacked and sent to 5 separate addresses. I was helped by Eli who was patient and courteous. To help economize on shipping costs, he cut down the large, standard boxes (purchased from the UPS Store) into shorter boxes (to better fit what I was sending). The experience was totally positive. Kudos to Eli and the rest of the staff. read more

I am a Belmont resident and live about a half-mile from this UPS store. Some other reviews for this business seem to be from people who live out of state. I don't really understand that. I have to admit I am one of those last minute people. This tax season I went to this store on the 14th not knowing that I had until the 18th to get my return in. The staff at the store bought this to my attention without trying to get me to send my envelope at the higher next day rate. They actually gave me the option to ship via USPS as well which I did not know they did. The gentleman behind the counter did advise there was a mark up but when I compared it to the 2nd day UPS option it was still cheaper. I ended up shipping the envelope certified with return receipt and received the return receipt within the next week. I am not sure why others have had bad experience but can say I will definitely use this place again since they were very helpful and knew their stuff. read more

One star in relation to their printing services, wish I could give 0 stars: Needed to print a one page document. Called the store to ask how to do this -- Jim said the only option was to use their laptop there which costs $3 to use, and I would need to bring the doc on a USB drive. I asked if there was online printing -- Jim said no, which was astonishing in the year of 2015 so I checked online. Lo and behold, online printing was available. Submitted the order and called to confirm when I should expect to pick it up. Jim asked if I was the same person who called a few minutes ago -- I said yes and he promptly told me that online printing is not available. I told him I just submitted the order and the option was available -- he told me to wait while he asked someone else. Jim came back and told me it would take 6 hours to turn around the one page letter. I took my business to another UPS store on Main street (Watertown SQ) which said that the one page letter would be available in a matter of minutes. To top it off, their prints are half the cost of the UPS store above on Common Street. The UPS Store at 464 Common St, is not worth your hassle if you need to print something quickly and cost effectively. read more
