I feel so bad I forgot this nice lady's name Her and another associate that we're working on October 14, 2025 between 11 and 12 o'clock. Being a luddite- I avoid doing anything that makes me have to use a computer if I can. But when I do, it is very stressful. This woman was so kind and so patient and helped the process so much. Her and the associate that assisted me at the end were so kind and so patient and truly unbelievable. There was also a customer there with a really cool shirt on. It's really nice when customer service is good nowadays. They made a very stressful situation quite easy for me and I am grateful. I recommend this Staples highly as a result. read more

Obnoxiously arrogant staff in print department that are completely incompetent. I asked for A4 documents to be printed on A4 paper that I had in a Staples bag and he flatly refused because he was unsure his printer could even attempt that size. Which by the way is used in 99.9% of the countries on Earth. I replied nicely that I've been to two other Staples previously and they had no problem printing on paper supplied or A4 paper. He was sarcastic in his reply. Firmly stating that they did not do as I said and will not print on customer supplied Staples paper. I protested and he would not even apologize for the policy or his attitude. Thirty minutes later in a Staples in Central MA, the staff printed my documents no questions asked and gave me discount because I supplied the paper. My iphone battery was getting old so I went to the Fresh Pond Staples for a replacement. They replaced the battery, but within a few hours it started behaving oddly. My phone would turn off within a few minutes of use, then restart, and it wouldn't charge. They gave me a new battery for free but I had the same problem within a couple of days. I went back for the third time, the technician offered to send my phone to get inspected, at another Staples facility and would be back in 5 days. I had lost trust in Staples and went to Boston Iphone repair. The technician there said that the staples technician used the wrong screws so the battery was not held in place. That is the main reason it wasn't working properly. The battery was also of poor quality. He put that battery in correctly and it works but the battery has been degrading rapidly due to its poor quality. The technician at Boston iphone repair said that he has had many customer come to him after first going to Staples because the people at Staples don't know that they are doing and sometimes damage phones beyond repair. He said that people go back to Staples because they charge less. I called a manager at the staples who went by "K". He offered me a refund but it never showed up in my statements. I called back, he offered to send me an invoice for the refund. I hung up, checked later, it was never sent and still no refund. I would usually go to an apple store but I figured Staples could handle a battery replacement. I guess not. I decided that I had already wasted too much time with this store for the $30 battery and would take it as a learning experience. I would recommend avoiding this store and spending a bit more somewhere else. They offer poor quality service and worse customer service. read more

I came here on a Monday afternoon for fingerprinting. My appointment was at 12:30 and I arrived at 12:20. There were about 4-5 people there waiting ahead of me. As I was waiting the person doing the fingerprinting was able to help 3 people before 1 o'clock came around and the lady said she was going on lunch and would be back at 1:30. There was no one else at the store who was able to continue fingerprinting people apparently?? At this time more people had arrived and we're waiting for their fingerprinting as well. I talked to the two girls waiting beside me and their appointments were at 12:20 and 12:40. I understand that people need to take lunch breaks but it's pretty ridiculous to allow people to make appointments and then have to wait over an hour for their turn. read more

The Asian guy with glasses behind the UPS counter in Staples was very rude. He threw my return package on the floor and was yelling at me for improperly putting the tape on it. Rather than let me know how to fix it or help, he threw the package and said it probably won't make it to the destination and just rolled his eyes and sent me out as he mumbled under his breath. read more

Staples may have changed the wrapper, image, and name (this Staples store is now called "Staples Connect") of the Alewife Brook Parkway, Cambridge store, but, in my opinion, the "customer experience" at this store has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. CONSUMER BEWARE. First, imagine my surprise when I ask the gentleman at the Copy Center to laminate a few cards for me. No problem, I'm told, "it'll be a few minutes." I go to pay for the laminating, and I discover an "Express Guarant" charge on my receipt, for $2.24, on a $7.45 charge. I ask, "what's Express Guarant?" I'm told that the usual turnaround time for laminating is 24 hours, and that a turn-around of less than 24 hours, commands a $2.24 "Express Guarant" premium (in my case (on top of a $7.45 charge (that's a 33% upcharge/premium to laminate a few cards, in less than 24 hours, which, mind you, was never disclosed). So, Rip Off #1: Staples "Express Guarant" upcharge, and Rip Off #2: Failure to disclose that charge. Second, I had to print a few documents on the rental computers in the Copy Center, or whatever Staples "Re-imagineer" now calls their Copy Center. I lost an inordinate amount of time (charged on a per minute basis), due to dysfunctional equipment. When the unhelpful Copy Center employee (who does only what he has to, nothing more) discovered that the PC does not default to the correct printer, he directed me to go through a series of steps, to send my prints to the correct printer; I asked him why the computer does not default to the only printer in the area, he said that that decision was above his pay grade (he had no interest in fixing, or finding a systemic fix for that problem). Lastly, I had to make a few copies on the self-service copy machines in the "Staples Connect" Copy Center. Imagine my surprise, when a few black and white copies, of very benign originals, are subject to a paper upcharge fee of a few cents per page. I asked a manager about this, he told me that the machines offer the option to downgrade to "economy paper (plain old, generic copy paper)," but you have to select the paper downgrade feature on the copy machine, which, I assure you, you'd never notice, unless someone held a billboard in front of you. My conclusion: Staples new "Staples Connect" has turned into a store for the wealthy, and for consumers whose guard is up, and who are hyperattentive and hypervigilant to repeated attempts by Staples Connect to upcharge you. If you are not hyperattentive, and hypervigilant, CONSUMER BEWARE. read more

Super impressed with the great customer service at this branch! We had phoned regarding the availability of an office chair that we saw at another location and they had sold out of it there. We were connected to Mary at the Fresh Pond location and within a few short minutes she checked and saw they had it in stock and arranged for assembly and we were on our way to get it! We were visiting our son And wanted this item as a gift for him, and are from out of state so time was of the essence! Keep up the good work! read more

They totally redid the store I met Patrick and some of the other people Makseyn and Andre and they were so helpful I love the new look of the store at fresh Pond I can't wait to go back. We went in looking for a desk chair. I cannot speak highly enough about Mary who helped us for about 30 minutes as we tried different chairs, she spent a lot of timing looking them up on line, explaining the benefits of each chair. Garbage piece of trash store with zero care of customer service. Purchased an item that I potential needed to return, ask prior to purchasing it if it is possible to return was told it was with no exceptions or problems, called twice before going to the store on separate occasions ( one time I showed up the store had a server error and was shut for the whole day) . Now went to return and "operation manager" said it can't be returned it's out of the return window. Aside from that print and marketing ruined 4 of my company projects so that's a plus. Wow. Just, wow. I have had to go here a few times here now and it pains me to walk through the door each time. Finding someone to help you is like securing a hot date with the Lochness Monster on Atlantis. If you do by chance pin a employee down, they have virtually zero knowledge of pricing, stock/availability or well...anything related to what they sell and do. The items are consistently priced wrong as well! And buying stuff is the easy part - don't even attempt to work with the copy center! They can't figure out how to three-hole punch something AND print it double-sided. I know, I know...it IS as complicated as physics...so I drew a diagram for them...twice. I even offered to show them how to do it. They also can't laminate things correctly. When you leave, chances are they won't give you everything you paid to have copied....but they will call you and tell you that, and then offer to email it to you. BRILLIANT! I paid you to make 50 copies carbon paper, so suuuuure - EMAIL it to me, that solves everything. I now find myself willing to sit through an additional 30-40 mins of traffic JUST to not go to this location because of the multiple mishaps. My laptop went haywire. I work near Staples at Fresh Pond, so I brought it to their computer repair department. Although I was beside myself, the repair specialist (Eddie) calmed me down, and gave me confidence that everything would be fine. And it was. Two days later the computer was working better than ever. Affordable, friendly, very effective. Great parking and Red Line Alewife stop. I highly recommend this Staples for computer repair - ask for Eddie. read more

We had to make over 200 copies for an event that was in a few hours and had great service. We used the self serve copier, but the staff accomodated us with staplers and smiles. They were super friendly and ready to answer any questions preventing us from a meltdown. We learned our lesson in not procrastinating anymore. read more

I walked in there, simply to ask a couple of quick questions about Staples partnering with Amazon on the Fire Stick Promotion. Two successive employees did not know what a Fire stick was and had no idea what I was talking about, even when I described it to them. I mean, I am OLD and I know what it is! They directed me to the one gentleman in the store who apparently knows what the hell is going on in there. After waiting several minutes I gave up and left. At least they admitted they didn't know. Several times in the past, I was given misinformation regarding purchasing printers and a computer. I wish MicroCenter was closer! Good for buying paper, ink, and pens. read more

I needed to photocopy some important documents, so I headed over to the Fresh Pond Staples vs. Harvard Sq- because of the bountiful parking here. There are a couple self-serve machines (both b/w and color) available for personal use. All you have to do is insert your credit card and copy away. I didn't have to speak to a single person, so I can't comment on service. I like this particular Staples for it's parking lot, and it's located next to a TJMaxx and huge Whole Foods. One stop shop! Also- a tip- if you enter/exit the shopping complex by way of New St instead of the main highway, it saves you tons of time. And also- if you were wondering, they don't do passport photos. read more

If i could give negative stars i would. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE store!! I cant remember a time when i tried to buy something and didnt have to ultimately find a manager. The bathrooms in staples are immaculate and smell like a budding rose. If you need a place to relieve yourself in peace, this is most certainly the first franchise you should be on the look out for. the photocopy girl is real sweet, not fast,and sincerely aplogetic about the service. I can never understand why all the other employees seem to abandon her. This review is just strictly for the Copy/Print Center. Have you ever tried to call a 1-800 customer service number after 5 pm? And, a call center member answers and tries their best to answer a simple question, but stretches your simple question and has you explaining yourself over the phone like you are talking to a 5 year-old-child? That all happened today, except it was in person. This was my first time ever need any of these services. I walked up, tried to explain what I would need. I was acknowledged by one person, who said "someone will be with you in a minute". No worries there; at least they know I was there waiting. I stood idly by for a minute and the same person asks, "Has anyone helped you, yet?" --No. But, here's something I need help with. I was cut off in my explanation, and was pointed to an already-P-off'ed team member who showed me the self-copy machine as she (the manager?) rushed off to a meeting. In the most impatient and condescending tone, "You need you place your credit card through the slot because it won't go through until you paid." --Umm. No. Try listening to what I need first. "Ooh, then you need to be over here" --Duh. I have a coupon for these services. "Well then, I need you to pay right now. I have to put this order in for you. Pick up at 6." All with a stern, dead-eye look. No crack of even a slight smile. Treated me as if I was dumb. But, no. I was not going to hand over my credit card to have to pay for an order that I had the distinct feeling that this place had no idea what they were doing. I digress, I continued to attempt and explain this is what I need, showing a USB stick. She had me come around to open the file, it would not open. I decided, I would go to another place. She says again, "It's not opening." -Okay, I'm leaving. I'm not coming back. Meanwhile, yelling at her co-worker about a meeting she also need to go. Forget it, my anxiety from impatience, and total lack of customer hospitality overwhelmed me. I told her again, I'll be leaving now. She tried to lure me back with "You can e-mail it to me." --Uhh. No. I ran out of there as quickly as I could. This was a surreal moment. I cannot recommend anyone to go here for your copying and printing needs. Utterly terrible. read more

Sales reps couldn't care less for shoppers. Cashiers are not friendly. I shop this store sometimes only because I live pretty close to it...but I think this convenience is not worth. So the hard drive issue ends up going all the way to the DM. First when I left the complaint on the corporate voice mail I thought it was a good final venting point. I was pleasantly surprised to hear from anyone, so I went back through the trauma that was the experience that I had with Julio. He apologized. Flat. He didn't sell his staff down the river, he he did acknowledge the lack of communication and said that this would be brought up at the store as he would find it frustrating as well. He also went above and beyond by suggesting I take the notebook (Why yes it pooped again because of the hard drive they installed having a bad sector) to the Needham store. (Check that review as it is night and day). Staples isn't off my list. I appreciate what the DM did. I just wouldn't bring my CPU in. read more

Me to employee: "Oh sorry. Did I wake you? That didn't seem possible since the manager is forever screaming across the store." While I like Staples generally, this store does not represent them well. The team is simply not customer-focused. I have overheard entirely inappropriate conversations by employees on their cell phones. The employees just seem to be forever hanging around chatting while customers wait in line to pay their salaries. The cashiers seem so put-out having to take my money. The team definitely does not understand what the customer experiences in that store. Or maybe they don't care. I will say that the exception is the team at the copy center. They are very responsive, helpful, and move things along quickly. And Staples, if I have your attention here: please contact the management of Fresh Pond Mall. The sidewalks are always FILTHY and the parking lot is a disgrace. That doesn't represent you well either. read more
