Wish I had never taken the phone to the Genius bar... iPhone 13 mini had a dead battery issue which Apple said they couldn't diagnose to confirm without enough power to run their test. It was just stuck in a boot loop and Apple was saying they'd have to restore it to factory settings. Brought it here instead, he ran a test that quickly and clearly showed the battery was dead. The battery got replaced on the spot for $89 (much better than the potential $300~ quote the Apple store was giving since they "couldn't verify" if there were other issues). Overall very easy and helpful experience! read more

DO NOT get your iPhone screen replaced here!!! I cracked my screen a couple of months ago and decided to bring my phone here instead of bringing it to Apple, since the service here was cheaper. The screen stopped working correctly almost immediately: half my screen would freeze sometimes, but now today, my phone is completely inoperable. I'm taking it to Apple to see if they can replace this screen for a genuine one and fix the issue. I can't entirely fault this shop: Apple very effectively incentivizes using their own products and specifically says on their website that you shouldn't use non-Apple parts. I didn't listen, and I regret it. I don't know if my issue is due to shotty worksmanship or with an incompatibility with iPhones. Either way, do yourself a favor and take your Apple products to Apple stores. read more

I visited this establishment twice now to get quotes on personal repairs (Macbook Pro 2021 and iPhone 13 Pro Max). I have nothing but positive things to say about my experiences! From the quality of work by Ned and his father, to the quality of the parts being replaced - I was impressed! When requesting a quote through Yelp, they responded within 5-10 minutes with a price. I was able to walk in and leave with a repaired device in under an hour - no appointment needed. Turned it on/off? Shoved it in rice? Those didn't work huh? Don't panic - Ned and his family have got your back! read more

Ned really went, as they say, above and beyond to diagnose and repair our MacBook that was bastardized by a rival Mac outlet. He is a great communicator most knowledgeable when it comes to Apple products. I wish I had found this company long before our expert literally destroyed the MacBook. Word to the wise, wherever you are in our Commonwealth, just send your bad apple to Ned and company and save big $$$ in the long run.. Thank You Ned for all your efforts and professionalism! I love these guys! I've been using Macs since '86, and I used to be an engineer, so I know all the tricks! I've had them clean and/or replace iPhone/iPad connectors, batteries, and so on. I'm probably bringing in an iMac next week. Some even had stripped screws. Super fast, reasonable,, professional.. couldn't be happier. read more

This repair place is my go-to for fixing my iphone and replacing batteries. I have been a customer for over a decade. They are very competent technicians and have a can-do attitude. I do contact them online to make sure they have the parts they need (ie, battery) for my repair. (I run older iphones.) They are very calm and professional. I usually drop off, and my phone is ready within an hour. What will I do in Harvard Square for an hour, you ask? Whatever I want. They may be a couple bucks more, but for convenience and never having failed me, I'm good with that. read more

I dropped my iPhone 11 Pro and broke the screen. At the Apple Store, I was quoted $270 for a screen replacement or $800 for a new iPhone 14. I found this shop on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Ned responded quickly with a much more affordable quote. I didn't mind not using official Apple parts since my phone is getting older, but I needed it fixed fast. When I visited the store (weekday), I easily found on-street parking, and Ned repaired my screen in just 10 minutes. More recently, I returned to replace the battery before a trip, and again, he had it done in under 10 minutes. Ned is knowledgeable, efficient, and provides great service. I highly recommend this place to anyone! read more

Phenomenal service - sent an email through website inquiring about service and received a response within 20mins. Cracked screen on an iPhone 12pro = Ned was very helpful and the next day had a new screen within 30-40mins. Easy & pleasant. Highly recommend! read more

Had a display issue with my 15 pro max and Ned was able to diagnose and fix the issue in less than 30 minutes! Not a single issue very smooth work and 10/10 will come back again. 200$ well spent indeed read more

Off the bat let's start with the good, this team is family run and operated and are incredibly responsive. I messaged Ned through yelp on a Saturday, was quoted and came in on a Monday and had repairs to my back glass and outer facing iPhone XR camera within an hour. I've never had third party iPhone repair done and as far as getting that issue solved they did absolutely that. But here's the downside, I came in with a working Face ID and left with a non-working Face ID. I was also informed that you can't just replace Face ID on an iPhone since it's linked to each phone for security and thrift purposes (which makes a lot of sense, and to also add, they are incredibly knowledgeable about the ins and outs of iPhone inner workings). I made it approximately three steps out of the door before a notification that my Face ID was disabled due to a problem. It's just a real bummer that I now have a brand new problem that was not present mere minutes before I walked into the shop. When I brought this up the older gentleman quickly dissembled the front screen again and couldn't find any problems (normally Face ID issues stem from water damage or massive front screen facing issues which I didn't have). He said to come see them again once I got back from a trip I was about to go on and they would take a look at it but still, such a shame it wasn't a perfect visit and now I have a new problem they may or may not be able to fix that might cost me having to get a brand new phone because of it. They've offered to make it right and I hope they do, because as of now I'd be weary of recommending them outright due to having new problems. I'd love to be able to recommend them for cosmetic fixes at the very least but after my experience I wouldn't feel comfortable. read more

Boston iPhone Repair - A back glass and a camera replacement has given me this sexy new message every time my phone awakens - Electronics Repair Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Great fast service! My phone screen was broken, and I walked in and Ned had it fixed within 15 minutes.

I had a broken and unusable screen on my 2018 MacBook Pro. I filled out a form on their website with my laptop details. I got an email from Ned within the hour asking a few more questions. He ordered the part and told me to bring the laptop in the next day. He replaced the screen in 45 mins for $399+tax in just about 24 hours from when I contacted them from their website. (Originally, I had taken the laptop in to an authorized Apple service center. I was told Apple required me to fix other things that I didn't care about in this old laptop for a total cost of $1200 and a 7-day return time. Oh and my laptop would be wiped.) I cannot recommend Boston iPhone and Ned more! read more

I can't recommend this place enough! They were fast to respond and extremely reasonable with price. My surface pro screen was absolutely smashed, which made the repair a littler trickier for them- but they didnt hesitate to jump in and help! Also, there were different screen sizes per version. I couldnt find what version I had. Instead of turning me away, they ordered both sizes and agreed to return whichever one didnt fit. NO other store would agree to do this. I hope I never crack my screen again, but if I do, I will 100% be coming back here! read more

Boston iPhone Repair saved the day when my daughter's MacBook decided to quit right as school was starting. Talk about stress! After getting the runaround from the Apple Store and other places (all suggesting expensive part replacements), I stumbled upon this gem. Ned at Boston iPhone Repair took a refreshingly different approach. Instead of immediately pushing for costly replacements, he actually considered repairing the existing components. This was music to my ears and my wallet! The service was nothing short of fantastic. Ned not only fixed the issue but did so in record time. I dropped off the MacBook, and within a few hours, he had diagnosed and repaired the problem. We had it back in our hands within 24 hours! If you're looking for honest, efficient, and cost-effective tech repair in Boston/Cambridge, look no further. They've earned a customer for life! read more

Very happy with my battery replacement at Boston iPhone Repair. I've had my phone for 2 months now and everything is still working beautifully. Small location tucked away upstairs in a building on Mass Ave right by Harvard Square. My trusty iPhone 5S was approaching old age, and my battery had already reached 1000+ charge cycles (they are designed to last 800), so it seemed high time for a bit of a refresh. Interior is nice and clean but no frills and very cozy - the guys work right in front of you behind the counter with lights tools and will probably multitask while you're telling them what's wrong with your phone. The guys here can be a little gruff. I came in and asked for a battery replacement and before I knew it, my phone was plucked out of my hands and I was told to sit down on the leather chairs for fifteen minutes. There are two leather chairs by a window, with a coffee table covered in magazines for when you invariably fight off existential crisis realizing you have no idea what to do with yourself without your trusty iPhone in hand. They seem to also offer some degree of Apple tech support as well - while I was waiting, a guy came asking for help transferring pictures from a hard drive to his mac, and they were able to do it for him. They also sell a few Apple accessories. The entire job only took ~15 minutes and cost $50, which was exactly the price they quoted me when I requested a quote via Yelp. I checked my battery tracking app on my iPhone to confirm that the battery they installed was in fact new - it definitely was! It's been two months and everything is still working great. read more

Boston iPhone Repair - very happy with the capacity on my new iPhone battery - Electronics Repair Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Great service- these guys are professional, quick and friendly. Will definitely use their services again!

Dropped my iPhone and had to get the shattered screen replaced. These guys quoted me the most competitive price among many Boston businesses, and I came in to have the service done. The tech was awesome and very quick, he said it would be done in 30min, and it was done exactly in that time frame. But the tech also really went above and beyond. He mentioned there was a previously-developed old hole that was leaking electrolyte fluid from the battery. Maybe it would have damaged the screen regardless. He put some tape over the hole to try to fix it for the time being. I really appreciate that it was a straightforward diagnosis and fix, especially for no additional charge or up-sell on a new battery for example. Go here for phone repairs! Awesome and honest small business. read more

I had them replace the screen on my mbp - they're fast, courteous and really knowledgeable. Thanks guys.

Quick response and solved the unexpected surprise. The price is good and the store is in a convenient location.

I've come to the folks at Boston iPhone Repair twice now and both times I have had a great experience. In and out same day, no issues with their work after weeks/months go by, very professional, extremely well priced. I had the back of my phone glass smashed, along with my camera glass. After looking at the camera further, he recommended I switch out the camera as well based on his knowledge and I am happy I did that. He of course reached out before any work was done and priced it for just parts, not the additional labor. I would absolutely recommend these guys to friends and family. read more

Came in for a battery repair for laptop and it was fixed in an hour wow!! Reasonable price and great quality.

Apple wanted $549 to repair the back glass on my iPhone XS, and here it was $99. Granted, you give up full official refurbishing that would likely ensure your iPhone remains water resistant... but for a trade-in, hand-me-down, or just fixing the state of your own dumb, stupidly-heavy and fragile my-god-Tim-Apple-gluing-the-components-to-the-back-glass-is-a-total-scam-I-know-you-did-this-on-purpose steel & glass phone -- they can't be beat. Took around 4 hours or so, but I can't recommend them enough and now it is looking brand new. Other places have asked at least double for some time now. Assuming the price here was the same, I wish I had found them sooner. read more

great replacement. The store was easy to locate in Harvard square and the service was prompt.

My 2013 MacBook Pro was having issues with overheating that had been a problem for years, and the battery which had been slowly getting worse finally got to the point where I could barely use the laptop unplugged. Two years ago the Apple store quoted $700 for a battery replacement, and they said there was nothing they could do about the overheating issues, and suggested that I should probably just buy a new laptop rather than fix it (and implied that my 6-year-old laptop was embarrassingly old!) I recently realized that this place fixes MacBooks, so I took it in. Ned replaced my battery AND fixed my overheating issues for $240, and did it in under an hour. It's like I have a whole new laptop now! Shame on Apple, and three cheers for Boston iPhone Repair! read more

These guys are great. Fumbled my iPhone 6S and shattered the screen spectacularly, walked in without any appointment at 6pm on a Thursday, walked out with a brand new screen 10 minutes later. Paid $70, which I guess is a lot for repairing one part on an ancient phone, but I have zero desire to get a new phone right now, so that actually seems like a pretty great deal. My wife has also had a 6S screen and battery replaced here with no complaints. A great resource for phone and computer owners (so, pretty much everyone) in this part of the city. read more
