iPad took an unfortunate tumble and the screen cracked on the bottom... Went to Fix 'N Repair's website and reached out for a quote. The process was super easy; complete the form by selecting the repair option (more on that to come), what device you have, what is wrong with it, your contact information, and how you'd like to be contacted. The repair options are to either visit the store or a come-to-you service which is unique, convenient, and a great option that sets them apart from other companies. And the at your door service does not have any hidden or extra fees! They are very responsive and quick to get in touch once you submit the form. I reached out during business hours and got a response immediately! I really liked that they asked how to contact - via call, text, or email. I needed my iPad, 9th gen fixed. It was quoted at $119 (+tax). I opted for the come to you service. It said online they have a van and do the repairs that way, however they reached out to see if I was okay with a pick up/drop off instead. That made no difference to me. They were very communicative throughout the process. It was very easy to schedule an appointment and I was able to have them complete repairs the next day! They did a great job with the repair - it looks brand new and you can't tell that there was an accident in the first place! They also asked if I wanted to add a screen protector which I appreciated as I would prefer not to break my screen again. They charged $20 for the protector and application, which I thought was reasonable and worth it for me not to have to mess with putting it on myself. Since I had a case already, I did not need one but they sell cases and accessories too. I highly recommend checking out Fix 'N Repair if you are in Wakefield or surrounding towns. Nice folks and convenient. I called around to a few places and their pricing was in the middle, someone else was $35 more and someone else was $30 less to replace a battery in an old MacBook Pro. Had an appointment set up for between 4/5pm because I got out of work at 5 and was just gonna have him fix it while I was working, but the technician showed up over and hour and a half late. I had to reach out to him to get any sort of update. As soon as I turned my phone on it popped up that it wasn't a genuine iPhone screen and it voided any warranty that I had. There was no disclosure before he began the work. Also, now my Face ID doesn't work unless I put my phone directly in front of my face. I was made to pay full price for a crappy service/job and was not offered any sort of apology for the tardiness, other than the texts he sent when I reached out asking where he was. I'd like to give a shout out to this new business that opened recently in Reading. My wife's iPhone kept cycling on and off, and not even a hard reboot would fix it. We brought it to Teral, thinking that it was a hardware issue and that the logic board, at least, would need to be replaced. After running several tests, he determined that a full reset of the phone's settings would solve our problem, which it did. Easy peasy and the cost was minimal. We restored the phone from the cloud and we were ready to go (outside of a few passwords that needed to be reset).
