Last summer, I took my year and a half old iPhone 13 on a white water rafting trip. Though the phone was never submerged in water and it is supposed to be waterproof up to 6 feet, the phone started showing signs of being waterlogged. Unfortunately, the phone had precious vacation pictures that I didn't want to lose. I contacted several repair shops, both in New York and Boston. They either declined to fix the phone or they charged an exorbitant amount. However, that was not the case with the Tech Center. My tech, Nathan, was highly professional and I didn't feel like I was going to be ripped off. I paid a $40 diagnostic fee and left the phone with him. Within 24 hours, he diagnosed the problem (i.e., inoperable power button). The diagnostic fee was applied to the repair and for less than $150 total, I now have a fully operational iPhone 13. I wish I found them sooner instead of buying another phone for $1000. I enthusiastically recommend their services. Don't trash your broken iPhone or Apple Watch and buy another for twice the price; just take it to the Tech Center. They will take care of you! read more

Highly competent, helpful, quick. It took them 5 min to repair my phone after sprint told me that it was not repairable and had to be replaced (see my saugus review) . Turns out the antenna was loose. Since no new PTT and little work was involved they didn't even charge me. I cancelled my sprint phone insurance and will rely on tech center to keep my phone working. Saves me 120$ per year and many many hours lots of frustration and no need to remember passwords, safety codes and other info. The food court nearby is great. I was planning to use it while waiting. I had a PS3 with the dreaded Yellow Light of Death (YLOD). I had this problem last year also. Then I had sent it to Sony for repairs. They had taken nearly a month to fix it and charged me over $150 for reflowing the soldering and perhaps putting on a new thermal paste. But Sony always reformats your drive, so any games, music, movies, pictures, etc you have on the hard-drive are lost and you have to download them again. I did not want to go through that again so I contacted Tech Center. They said that they could fix it and turn around in 24 hours for $75. And no hard drive reformatting. I dropped the PS3 around lunch time and they called me back around 5PM the same day to let me know that it was done. They reflowed the soldering and replaced the thermal pad. I think the whole process takes about an hour (take apart the whole PS3, get the the motherboard, remove the thermal pads and pastes from the GPU and CPU, reflow the soldering using the heat gun, put new thermal paste and pads on GPU and CPU, put the whole thing back together and do a test run). Paying someone $75 for it and not have to worry about it was just rightly priced in my mind. Anyways, I was happy with the service. Now lets see how long does this PS3 last :) read more

I took my smartphone to this repair shop. I would never do it again. I knew what the problem was and confirmed that they would be able to fix it which involved soldering - they claimed they were the only place that could do it. Long story short - they promised they could fix it - never explained to me that my warranty would be void if they tried, finally told me they couldn't fix it and that I should send to the manufacturer for repair under warranty. I wasted my time by following these directions only to get phone back unrepaired after 2 weeks saying there was an un-authorized repair attempt. I had been having a lot of trouble charging my Samsung Galaxy 8 smartphone for months & months with many different C cables; so I thought that its charging port was defective. This is a great place to get your iPhone, iPad, etc. repaired. My iPhone 7 camera lens cracked and I could not take photos with my phone. I brought it to The Tech Center and they told me they could fix it but needed to order the parts. In less than a week I got a call telling me the parts were in. My IPhone 6 Plus started acting bizarre. The screen was not responding to touch and was randomly opening apps and dialing number. Sprint wanted to charge me $300 to replace the phone and then double my monthly lease payments because I was not turning in a working phone. I told them forget that. I drove to the Tech center at the Liberty Tree Mall. The tech told me that there was a problem with the chip on IPhone 6 Plus in that it comes loose. They charge me $100 to sauter the chip back on. I picked it up and it worked for a day. I brought it back and the tech apologized and told me they would try to fix it again. I asked how much he said no charge.... in fact he told me that if they couldn't fix it they would refund me the $100!! They called me the next day to tell me they could fix it but that they had to order a new chip to replace the old one. I asked how much, the tech said no charge, again!! It took me a few weeks to get my phone back, I was using an old one, but when I finally got it back it's been working like a charm! They save me so much money! I would be remiss if l didn't take the time to share my experience with the public related to the Tech Center. I have an All In One H/P Lap Top. Well foolish me l turned it upside down to move a cable and yes l cracked the screen. I went to many computer repair shops and each one told me it would be less expensive just to buy a new computer. Now keep in mind this computer was a little over a year old. One day l saw the Tech Center and shared my problem with the technician. He told me to call him with the model and he would price out a new screen. I did and the price was $85.00 dollars. He ordered it and called me once in so l could bring the computer in. Less than a week later l received a call that my computer was repaired. I went back to the Center and there my computer was brand new and the labor was $100.00. I went to this place twice to get my phones unlocked. They're great. My only wish, was that they had managed to tell me that my phone was already unlocked when I brought mine in (this was my second time going). Completely Gazelle's fault for sending me an unlocked phone when I ordered a regular one, and I'm hopefully getting some money from them, but that was $50 I basically threw down the drain. So after trying 3 different repair shops in the area, I finally found the one. The Tech Center at the Liberty tree mall is by no means your typical "mall kiosk" phone repair. These guys really know their stuff and have been in the game a long time. Anyways, I had been dealing with a nagging issue on my iPhone 6 plus. Basically, out of nowhere it began to stop sensing and responding to touch on the screen. This problem would come and go and eventually it got worse to where I couldn't even use the phone... First, had a tech guy in Salem look at it. He tried some new screens to no success. He told me it looks like a motherboard issue and not fixable. So I decided to get a second opinion. I found another repair shop in peabody who told me essentially the same thing. I then did some research and found out this was a major manufacturing flaw and common problem among the 6 plus known as the iPhone touch disease. Thru the power of google I located another tech in Boston who said he could fix the motherboard problem. Dropped my phone off with the guy picked it up a few hours later, and to my surprise it worked...but not for long. Within a day it started again. ahhh! At this point I was ready to throw the phone away, instead took out my sim and stuck it away in a dresser drawer. Fast forward a few weeks, the 6 plus was sitting collecting dust. One day I had a conversation with a friend who also had the same flaw with their 6 plus but had it successfully and permanently fixed at a place in Danvers called the Tech Center, So I decided to give it one last shot and boy was I happy I did. The guys over at the Tech Center were honest, straightforward and fair. They told me exactly what was involved (replacing the touch ic), what to expect as time frame and price and the warranty- what could be done if the problem came back. Well, they delivered! The process did take a few days as they needed to order a replacement part, but it did indeed get fixed. I've been using it weeks now and no issues whatsoever. I can't say enough about the tech center, truly amazing work guys! So, don't always believe a tech guy who says that something can't be fixed...most cases it just means they can't fix it, but somebody can and that somebody is the tech center. Some ending advice to people: skip the guy in Salem, don't waste time in peabody, forget Boston. Go straight to the Tech Center in Danvers. Thank you read more

Stay Away is right!! I brought my ipod touch to them in Sept with a cracked screen. They replaced the screen, but broke the external speaker. I wasn't aware of this right away. Two months go by and the screen separated from the unit. I brought it to Apple, who of course wouldn't touch it and told me that they don't replace the screens on the ipod touch because it is built from the bottom up, they replace the unit. I went back to Tech center and the guy said, "I don't repair these because they separate" I told him they did and if they had told me that up front I would have brought to Apple. I told him the speaker was now broken as well. He took it in as a warranty and was able (for now) to adhere the screen down. He was unable to repair the speaker and told me the unit was beat up pretty bad and that I may not even be able to charge it because it's all banged up....they banged it up because where you charge it is where the speaker is.... I guess I'm partially to blame for bringing my $250 ipod to a repair shop that's located in food court....Lesson Learned. read more

2 stars for the customer service they gave me. So my Macbook's HDD cable was broken, and I knew it. Since I had it replaced here once before, I told them to do the exact same thing they did the first time. I was willing to pay the $60 dollars since I needed to get it done asap for school. Instead of listening to my advice, they went ahead and ran their "diagnostics", which took two days to tell me that I needed a "Full Reinstall". The last thing I wanted was to have it wiped clean because I have data in there that I needed. Oh, the best part was, "We quoted you $250 to have a full reinstall", really?? Any computer junky/non-junky can do a full reinstall, which wasn't the case. So I just took my laptop book, went on amazon, bought the wire for $20, yes TWENTY DOLLARS!, and got my Macbook fixed and I am currently using it to write this review. Advice to this location, learn to listen to the customer, sometimes they know more than you. Oh btw, I'm no computer tech-person, I just know enough to get me by. read more
