Used them for a full house move last month, and they were extremely easy to work with. The owner answered all of my questions, and even suggested that they re-pack some of the boxes my wife and I had pre-packed, explaining that in transit the carrier pays no mind to fragile boxes. What a tip! I was so thankful that he did, because everything arrived safely, and in hindsight I'm sure would've broken if we didn't trust him. It's clear that they know this business. The shippers' shippers. I recommended them very recently to an aunt who deals in paintings, and she's been just as satisfied. She told me they have a great reputation in the art community as well. The moving company New England Pack & Ship and the people working at New England Pack & Ship (hereinafter their workers) don't care about the cleanliness of your items and they open and repackage your items randomly without your permission. I noticed that many of my items were randomly opened and repackaged without my permission. So I emailed their company, asking why. The head of this company Brian Bishop responded saying that they need to make sure things are stable. First of all, my items were already in stable condition. Also, there are many good ways to keep things stable, and none of them is throwing not so clean items over clean and expensive items, especially when they don't have my permission to do so. I further explained the situation, there were no responses. I had to call them. Brian answered and claimed that he was somehow upset about my email. Brian even shamelessly, disrespectfully and falsely claimed that my apartment was somehow a "sh!thole" apartment. When the fact is that my apartment is actually well-kept, and the condition of my apartment has no connection with what they did. Also, that there is absolutely no justifiable reason for their workers to randomly open my boxes and repackage my boxes without my permission, and mix not so clean items with the clean items without my permission. If anything, their small, disgusting company has a sh!thole standard for moving, and their small, disgusting company is a sh!thole company. To be more specific, I have never given anyone any permission to open my boxes at any time and I have never given anyone any permission to repackage any of my items at any time. It's an invasion of my privacy to open my boxes. I packed all my items in ways that I wanted because they should be packed in these ways. I have many clean items and also many expensive equipments that I meant to pack separately to avoid contamination, and I specifically put the items that are not so clean in separate boxes. But people at New England Pack & Ship repackaged all these items in ways that were different and, as a matter of fact, the exact ways that I am trying to avoid. For example, there was a dirty outer box for a shoe box that they throw into a big box and the shoe box was placed on top of the clean keyboard, my hard drives and clothes that I had, right next to it is my computer and a pop filter. That was a big box that I already sealed and you opened it and you repackaged it in a way that's different from what I intended. Also, I later found out that the bag of the hard drives was already opened, and I have no idea what they have done to my items. In addition, I specifically put my tripods in separate boxes because these tripods were dragged on the ground and therefore not so clean. Therefore I specifically put them in a separate box. But their workers just throw them on top of other clean items that I have. Furthermore, I specifically put my power extensions in separate boxes because these power extensions were placed on the floor and therefore not so clean. But their workers placed them in the same box as my expensive microphones. Also I meant to keep my microphones in the cover and not in the box but their workers took them out of the cover and put them into the box without my permission. I took some more pictures. As you can see in the attachments below. Their workers also took apart my shoe racks and repackaged my shoes and shoeboxes without my permission. There are even stains, dirty marks and shoe prints on some of my items and some of the boxes. These are just some of the examples that I have noticed so far. I feel very disappointed, disturbed and disgusted by the way that their workers handled my items. A lot of these expensive equipments are supposed to be kept in clean environment, which is why I separate them specifically. Now I have to buy many new items because New England Pack & Ship ruined them, and I already bought some new items. New England Pack & Ship offers the worst service. Stay away! read more

Imagine: 4:30 PM on Friday before July 4th weekend. I am frantic at FedEx, because they don't have a box big enough to pack the GIGANTIC monitor I am trying to have shipped out by 5 PM. Cue The Packaging Store. Not only could they pack the thing, no problem, but since I called ahead, the owner/manager/I don't know then MET ME AT MY CAR in order to carry the behemoth for me. AMAZING. The service here is outstanding, and I see no reason to make the longer drive to FedEx when The Packaging Store is so friendly and professional. I can't speak for the price because that really wasn't my priority that day but if you value the personal touch, The Packaging Store is your place. read more

Used Paul and his guys for the 2nd time in Nov. 2011 after parents' died and needed to pack and ship by truck, furnishings, art, breakables, etc. to Ca. and also have them pack and deliver furniture, china, etc. locally to South Natick Ma. Excellent group of workers, very courteous and pleasant, led by Paul, who made sure all of the details and logistics were taken care of and instructions followed to the tee.Everything at the receiving end went perfectly too. Highly recommend. 1st time I used them was about 8 yrs prior. Hired them to come to Newton private home and pack up Dining Room - large table w several leaves, table pads, sideboard, chairs, buffet, and more - for trucking to San Diego Ca. They were so pleasant and accommodating and did exactly as they said they would do. Obviously if I wasn't totally pleased, wouldn't have used them a 2nd time as listed above. Just called for an estimated price quote to use them for 3rd time to pack up and ship via truck, a dining room table, chairs, sideboard, table pads, etc., from Wellesley MA to Limington ME. Lots of other shipping companies, but had such good experiences with them, why would I look elsewhere. Know Paul's price will be competetive too. We used the Boston Packaging Store for our move across the country. We had several pieces of furniture including a glass cabinet as well as several boxes. Paul and his team arrived promptly on time and worked quickly to take our furniture to their store where they packaged our goods. On arrival, we saw that our furniture was carefully packaged - in particular, our glass cabinet arrived beautifully. One box was missing, but Paul was quick to find it and send it on it's way. The service is excellent - I would give them 5+ stars if I could. The prices were extremely reasonable. I highly recommend them. read more

I recently shipped a pair of skis and boots to my daughter in Chicago. I was disappointed when I found out that the boots were shipped one day and the skis were sent another day. When I called to find out why, I was given some lame excuse that FedEx was picking up international shipments one day and domestic shipments another day. What really happened (IMHO) is that they forgot to give the FedEx driver both packages on the same day. Considering I dropped them both off on a Saturday, they both should have gone out on Monday, not one on Monday and the other on Tuesday. I paid over $100 for the shipment (much of which went to the Packaging Store for their services). When I called to inquire, not only did they not give me a straight answer, but they made no attempt to make the situation right. I'm not impressed. read more

I buy from auction houses all over the United States for small items and New England pack and Ship has got to be the worst ever price wise. They charged me over $58 for an item most shipping companies would charge half that yet I was stuck having to use them. Even the auction house thought is it was outrageous, even with their pick up charge. Definitely, check around for better prices. I would never use them again for sure. read more

I stopped at the store by chance... looking to buy moving boxes. Quickly realized they could do much more for me and my family. They did great packing jobs on a variety of oil paintings, some being shipped, others going into storage. We also ended up using them for a 2,000 mile move of some bedroom furniture and boxed personal effect. Their packing/boxing of items was phenomenal! everything arrived in perfect condition, and at a fraction of the prices quoted by a variety of traditional moving companies. absolutely not recommended!!!!!!! please do not hire them. it took them over 8hrs to move a small size house (i had packed more than 98% myself already) for 2 mile distance. taking their time. 3 guys from which the one was the son's owner and who was very slow. i had to move a lot of the stuff myself. they used a truck with a lift not a ramp. that was taking too long to load. they would place a box at a time and then they pressed the lift button and were waiting to go up. usually one guy was inside the truck just passing stuff, one other guy was moving stuff and the slowest guy would just be on break for most of the time. the owner saw my household before and gave me a quote estimating 4-6hours if they would all the packing. they came unprepared with not much supplies and they wasted over 1hr to go get them. what they need to pack ? only pots and pans and platters and pictures that i had already on counter-top organized by size and shape. it should take two guys to pack them half hour instead they did it in 3 hrs. damaged my stuff and did not label the boxes!!! i recommend another company "dn van lines" that they are professional and offer insurance and security. alternatively hire freelancers from uhaul like "safe hands movers" and make a deal for the time you want them to spend on. read more
