Came in to drop off a package. With new covid restrictions and unclear signs, I couldn't figure out where to wait. So I waited inside the building as 2 cashiers were helping other customers. The lady working the third register (older woman, hair tied up) looked me straight in the eye and rudely placed the "use next window sign" on the table and looked away. A few moments after that she turned to look at me again and rudely rolled her eyes and said "you know you gotta wait over there right?" And also spoke very rudely to another customer asking questions about drop offs. The second star is for the friendly and professional man, Victor who kindly told me about their new policies and made sure I had great service throughout the process. The manager Taylor was rude. Went to renew my passport and brought my old passport for proof of citizenship because that's what it said online and on the form. She then told us that we were wrong and definitely needed the original birth certificate and to come back the next day. Went to city hall and paid for the certificate and came back. A different lady (extremely kind and understanding) helped us out and turns out we didn't actually need it. If you're the manager or supervisor, you should get the facts right at least and not have your customers running around and doing unnecessary tasks. A waste of gas, time, and stress. read more

I was just here today for my first time applying passport appointment. There was no signs for people who is applying for passport, I was not confused and looking for any signs, then one of lady who was wearing red and helping other staffs noticed about me right away and asked me if I need help. I didn't ask her name, but she was very kind and helpful. Also the lady who took care of my passport appointment(her name is Shirley, if I'm not wrong) was also very friendly and kind. Wish I could give 0 stars. This place is staffed by the bitchiest, rudest people. They lost my package and when I came to inquire about it, I was told, "You know, I don't have time for this"..after I waited 25 minutes in line. Spoke with two different people and got so much attitude from both of them that I had to tell them they were being incredibly rude, and I'm literally the least confrontational person on this planet but it was ridiculous. Tried to ship an item today and asked the lady who was at the last station for a pen to borrow. Looked at me with so much attitude and slammed the pen on the desk. Afterwards I asked if I could ship it via First Class, she proceeded to put it inside a Priority Mail envelope without asking me and told me it was $7 to ship. Told her I only wanted to ship via First Class, she refused. Major attitude problems. It was a middle aged white woman with glasses... if you don't like working here then at least pretend you do, don't be such an a** about it. read more

Shipped a package from them two weeks ago. I paid extra for 2 day shipping. It is now 14 days later and my package did not arrive, and they cannot tell me where it is. And they will not refund you until it's over 30 days! Will never ship through USPS again if there is a UPS store nearby. read more

Postmaster Rhodora Nuqui told our mail carrier not to deliver mail to our address even though we had no forwarding instructions in place. She and her supervisor, Postmaster Sarabjit Chadha, both admitted this was a mistake. However, they have not acted with any urgency to fixing the problems Rhodora caused. As a result, one important Priority Mail 2-day package was sent to a central processing facility in Santa Ana, while another was returned to the sender. (I have still received no explanation as to why they did two different things with these packages.) Chadha refused to refund me any of the postage until I receive the packages back. Two weeks later, I'm still waiting for my Priority Mail 2-Day package sent on 9/10/15. After being sent to the central facility in Santa Ana, it was sent back to Richmond in Northern California, and then inexplicably sent back to Bell Gardens in Southern California. For other customers struggling with the awful customer service at the Millbrae and Burlingame post offices, here is the chain of command and the relevant contact information. I suggest immediately contacting all of them when an issue arises, as you have to be prepared that they will ignore you and it will be a while before anyone pays attention. Horrible experience. Had to send a package with Signature Confirmation. I didn't fill out the receipt, which is for my own record mind you. Eric told me to fill it out somewhere else. It took me all but 10 seconds to complete. I had to fall back in line for another 20 minutes waiting for him to work with another customer. He was ready to take someone else and forgot about me until I pointed it out to him. What a waste of time! read more

RUDE!! Came today at 4. There was no line and only one customer with one of the clerk. There were other clerks so I asked one of them a question about their self help kiosk outside she said she didn't know so ask the manager. There was a guy and a woman she was pointing at in the next stall so I asked and this woman, very rudely said "that question is not for a supervisor, a clerk should be able to answer that" and said really loud for someone else to deal with me. What the F***! Next time just save everyone time by answering my question instead of swiping remarks at your coworker. read more

Had such a GREAT experience at the Millbrae Post Office this morning. First of all, no line at 10 a.m.!! I was very stressed because I'd just discovered that I had to renew a passport before our October travel!! I went by to make an appointment for picture and paperwork, and the NICEST lady helped me. NORA told me that I had to renew by mail, and then went on to give me the paper work, write down the fees, give me explicit instructions, inform me that she could take the required photo for $15 or I could go to Costco for $4.99, provided me with the proper mailing envelope, and assured me that I will receive the passport in two to three weeks! She absolutely calmed me down! I was glad she waited on me again in the afternoon when I was mailing the envelope so that I could thank her again for being SO HELPFUL!! I opened a PO Box, constantly checked back to see if I received mail. I asked the attendants at the counter what was the status of my delivered packages / box. Turns out they decided to lose the paperwork and delay my PO box from being opened for over a month. The lady at the counter even mentioned how messy the operation was in the back and blamed it on short staffing. After waiting a very long time, I finally spoke to the postmaster who attempted to straighten things out. If you are considering getting a PO Box here, please triple check that it is actually opened. read more

If I could give a negative 1 star rating I would. Shame on the city of Millbrae or whoever could make a difference for customer service in Millbrae. I don't think this post office is that bad. I've been here a couple times and the lines do move pretty fast. I like post offices that are large since you're able to move around when finding envelopes, placing your package inside, then affixing the addresses, with insurance, certification, or customs declaration, etc... I have been to MANY in The City that are too small to accomplish these tasks. This one has a self-service machine in the lobby where you can also buy stamps, so people are not clogged at the counters. The employee I had instructed me to place my package in a smaller ernvelope to avoid being overcharged. She could've not cared, yet that was really sweet. read more

I agree some of the staff here is nice, line is long. I also agree it is poorly managed. I try to avoid this post office as much as I could since I've had several bad experiences here but sometimes parcels have to be sent. I was here this morning to send a parcel overseas at 9am with my form and everything. I got in line, was sent over to a middle aged man who brushed me off, didn't take my form or my parcel. When I saw another familiar face, a very nice lady who works at the post office, I tried to ask her what I'd like to send my parcel. The middle-aged man then said "she's done". It was very very rude. Being in a foreign country and not knowing simple things like how to send a parcel home sucks, but being treated so rudely sucks even more. Perhaps they are just trying to encourage us to use other post offices, which I eventually did. A simple answer to my question is all I need. What I don't need is being treated like a idiot. Next time I will wait and see who is at the counter to decide whether to get in the line or not. Some of the staff are very helpful, others less so. read more

I am very disappointed with this location, too many errors...! This is the second time in 3 months they FORGOT to deliver to my box some of the letters with checks included. They caused a lot of troubles (stop payments for $35.00). They told me, we kept them on a pail with other mail. The mail (18 letters were stamped September 6, and I received September 29,2011. It's 6:15 on July 26th 2012 and I have not received my mail yet. I have had mail in my box for the mailman to pickup when he delivers mine and it's still there. Called the post office of course there closed and you can't leave a message you get this loud noise. This is not the first time we've had this problem. I went to the post office to look for a package that was tracked delivered although clearly not to me. I waited 15 min for a mail person and then a supervisor (Taylor). I was told the package was delivered to my street. Not that helps me any. She immediately , before I even raised my voice told me to clam down. Then when I was speaking with my hands , which I do, she said " lower your hands, I do not like the way you are waving them. NOW ,Im pissed. She sat there and cold stared me. Yes, I was annoyed but her actions and attitude seemed to be her way of taunting. This is a woman that clearly has issues AND thinks being a postal worker gives her some sort of power over people. Seems to not be a very effective supervisor and there is nothing worse than a person in charge with a chip on their shoulder. read more

I've been going here for many years and always have a solid experience. Whatever I need gets taken care of, e.g. before the USPS "click n ship" services such as printing out shipping labels, I'd go in person and get it taken care of at this branch--no problems. Nowadays, if I cannot get stuff done in an automated fashion and need to do it the old-fashioned way, it's always a terrific experience. Every single employee has a ready smile and is unfailingly helpful, friendly and engaged in their job. Fernando, with whom if I get him as the counterperson, I chit chat a bit--is super personable and informal in a way that so few government employees are these days. I love the location for its convenience, close to the drugstore, grocery shops, and bank. It's awesome that they have a small parking lot with always available spots, and of course, one of the perks of living in the suburbs, is street parking is also plentiful. My only complaint is minor: the lines are often long and the saving grace is they work fast, are efficient, and it moves rapidly. It's magical that in this e-age of digital communique, we can write something on a physical sheet of paper, stick it in a box, and by sheer man/woman power, that very scrap of paper will arrive at our addressee. The only more remarkable thing would be pigeon carrier :-) Kudos to these unsung heroes of our times for doing their job consistently well! read more

I don't frequent Post Offices... so I really can't say much... My time spent there was what it was... The employees at this post office are very nice, friendly and helpful. Much better than a lot of post offices I've been to. Plus even when there is a long line, they move at a very reasonable pace. I recently started selling online and I'm still new to a lot of shipping specifics and whenever they see something I need to do for the next visit, they will go over it with me so that way I'm in the know. The Millbrae post office always has long lines...but what post office doesn't?The staff here is reasonably friendly compared to other post offices I've been to, so no complaints there, and most of the time they're relatively competent, so no complaints there, either! The location isn't the best looking but it does the job. Fernando is extremely courteous and helpful. Don't believe what the prior comments say about passport information. Yes it is by appt only but it clearly states it on the website. I made my appt online and they had some available for next day. The person that says you have to return months later: think a little your in the Bay Area where a huge international airport is located and people travel constantly here it makes sense that you may have to wait for appointments sometimes. In the end if your nice to them and smile and are respectful they are too. You come in demanding and acting like your a priority shoot even I would roll my eyes at you. read more

I've never met a more ignorant and incompetent USPS clerk than N*ra. I've wondered why USPS has such a bad wrap when it comes to services. It's employees like N*ra. I had to go back to this post office twice in a day because they made a mistake on the details of the delivery the first time around. I was (un)assisted by N*ra and asked her to correct the information. Her response was, "The details don't really matter. If the package was lost, you would have to file a claim. Blah..Blah...Blah..." I think USPS should provide her with proper training and not a role that deals with customers. First, she didn't know a thing about processing International packages. At first, she said that I would have to pay more to correct their mistake? Huh??? And then, she went to ask the Postmaster for help. Next incompetent statement was when she questioned the customer whether they sent anything out of state before. Why does that even matter? The fact was the first USPS clerk made a mistake on the paperwork. This is a simple correction. The final dumb statement she made was a comment, dismissing her USPS Customer Service colleague. I mentioned that the USPS Customer Service staff had suggested to go back to the the local post office to correct the shipping details. "Oh, they are not USPS employees. They don't know what they're talking about." The more she spoke, the more I felt embarrassed for her. She really needs better job training and a class on etiquette. read more
