Unsafe. Lobby is mobbed. Do not jeopardize your health. Signs say no more than 10 people in lobby but they do not adhere to policy.

I hope this is for the right post office I live on Winfield and had a small package to mail postage…read morepaid- it didn't fit in the mailboxes that are secured these days. I saw a carrier at the bottom of Winfield and he was amazing! As busy as this guy is- he took the time to answer my question. I asked if they still pick up outgoing mail from residences these days and we both kind of laughed at the change in the times. He asked where I lived and said "sure he would do that for me". He certainly didn't have to do that- I'm certain many would have just directed me to the post office on 29th street or even waived me off before I got to the question. I'm sure delivering mail on foot isn't an easy job especially considering all the variables. These men and women do it faithfully in spite of ongoing challenges and this particular carrier- who I'm hoping will read this and remember our interaction- went above and beyond. I taped the small item to our mail slot (on the garage like many others) with a note thanking him. I was a little nervous until I saw the item was scanned and tracking. THANK YOU DO MUCH sir- please know your kindness and professionalism make a huge difference and today even several days later, I'm still thinking about it and smiling. Simple kindness especially these days- has a profound uplifting effect and every person like this guy, who do things the way he did, makes me want to emulate and carry that spirit to others. I just want you to know the effect was much more than convenience- it was confirmation that good hardworking and kind people are still in the world and it reflects very well on the postal service! I'm sure you'll be rewarded for being the person you are - thanks again!!

My passport expired and was lost in my move from HI to SF. And I'm lazy and need my hand held…read more I made an appointment online for all the things- passport, picture, etc. When I arrived there was a bunch of people waiting in line for shipping packages. Once I got to the front, the super kind lady brought me through the side door to take my picture. She took a few snaps, asked me which one was best? I told her they all look the same. She went over my paperwork, had me make a few changes, additions, photocopied all the things (extra charge) and with the swipe of my debit card for $184.55, I was on my way. My passport arrived two weeks later. . . before my birth certificate. It was the most painless process ever and worth every penny. Here's the breakdown of pricing- USPS Passport Fee- $35 Photo Service- $15 Money Order- $130 Money Order Fee- $2.55 Copy Machine- $2

Two had clerks processing passports and the third had the clerk opening a safe deposit box contract. We all stood there for a long, long time. No one was buying stamps or mailing parcels at the counter. When I finally made it to a clerk, I got my stamps and when I paid , her finger shot to the debit machine snd clicked the happy face for customer service. REALLY????? I couldn't believe if, I told her that isn't the customer service response I would have picked. Do yourself a favor snd go up to the Diamond Heights post office. It is so much better.

One really has to wonder what grossly incompetent nincompoop DEI clown circus runs this station!…read more For almost 20 years my friend is the holder of POBox 411621 at the USPS office 1600 Bryant St. in San Francisco 94141. Over the years he has maintained the aforementioned and also updated and submitted at the post office account information i.e. mailbox name holders. Such as adding is DBA business name and adding from an offering from USPS office the street address. All done while filling out and submitting the required forms at the post office. This worked for almost 2 decades. He always received mail addressed with either name, some even without his name and when mail mailed to someone got returned for whatever reason, he received it back in his POB. I don't know what DEI imbeciles USPS employs now, but some cretin all of a sudden decided that any mail addressed other than with his first & last name, even if PO Box and street address and ZIP Code is correct, will be returned to the sender as "insufficient address, attempted delivery not known" sticker! This is a particular insinuation considering that he received mail were just the PO Box and ZIP Code was on the envelope. Also mail returned to him, were his return address on envelope contained minimal information i.e. PO Box and ZIP Code, came back correctly. (image attached) This USPS idiocy has cost him in a time of economic distress to lose a new client, have his reputation damaged and lose the desperately needed $15,000 - $20,000 of a project assignment/contract. I went with him to the post office on March 10, 2026 after he had gotten the envelopes from the sender with the USPS return sticker on to complain about this. (image attached) Asking for the stationmaster/postmaster at the post office he got stupid smiles and the lamest of lame excuses and denials. Mostly none reactions that such individual does not exist. As excuse they pulled out his original registration card from back 2007 for the POBox. When he then asked what about the updates that he made and forms submitted over the years, all he got was silent dumb looks. He showed them some actual returned mail envelopes he got back over the years (image attached) which at the same short nameless address clearly proving that the post office has the address on file, as it is the same [valid] address on the envelope. Otherwise he would have not gotten the mail (envelopes) back! He got a shoulder shrugging blank stare with excuses, lame explanations or no-answers. Since this year suddenly mail to his POB got returned by the by these post office jerks as non-deliverable!!! Yellow sticker: Return to sender "attempted - not known". But the PO Box is valid, paid for an active. What are the worst nine most terrifying words? 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help." -- R. Reagan
