Went at opening time to transfer the title and I waited - for about five minutes - before being efficiently served. I had initially planned to come later in the day and use their online "get in line" service, which I've heard is a good option. Efficient! Can we pause to ponder the cognitive dissonance of that concept, and its relevance to the dreaded DMV? Can't score an appointment? Go early, or go online to get in line. You may be pleasantly surprised! DMV.ca.gov is your friend.

The agent at window 17 (who said his name was Israel) was rude, dismissive, and refused to help me. Instead of explaining anything, he sent me away with no guidance. When I asked for a supervisor, he called another employee from window 5 who was also aggressive and unprofessional. Both of them ignored my request for a supervisor. After following their instructions and coming back fully prepared, the same agent looked at me, skipped me on purpose, and then told me straight to my face that he did NOT want to help me. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. The only reason I got my process done was because another employee stepped in and actually treated me with respect. DMV Daly City seriously needs to do better.

The lady who helped me was nice enough. I explained my situation, I needed to show my registration, and she just gave me the sticker, no charge. Definitely one of my better DMV experiences!!! I actually think, because it was so busy, that might have helped me out because the whole process went rather quickly!!

I visited this DMV office for a vehicle title transfer and REAL ID transaction. Unfortunately, my…read moreexperience was disappointing. I was assisted at Window 8 by a female employee (middle-aged, glasses, ponytail, wearing a black hat with cat ears) When reviewing my vehicle transfer paperwork, she noticed that I had entered $0.00 as the vehicle value. I attempted to explain why I had completed the form that way, but she repeatedly interrupted me and would not allow me to finish my explanation. Instead, she lectured me that nothing in life has a value of zero and used her rings as an example of items that have value. I felt talked down to rather than assisted. She then criticized me for forgetting to enter a date on the form. While I understand that forms must be completed correctly, the manner in which she addressed me felt unnecessarily harsh and dismissive. Later, after she instructed me to correct the paperwork, I informed her that I had already paid the $15 transfer fee. I mistakenly showed her the receipt she had just given me for a different DMV transaction. I felt that my concern was dismissed and that I was being blamed for a mistake before the situation was fully reviewed. Rather than simply clarifying the issue, she became visibly frustrated and questioned whether I was alright. She insisted that I was showing the wrong receipt and continued speaking to me in a condescending manner. A short time later, she discovered that the correct receipt was actually on her own desk. I felt embarrassed and spoken to in a disrespectful manner, particularly because the receipt was later found on her own desk. I believe customers should be treated with patience, respect, and professionalism. I left the interaction feeling embarrassed, dismissed, and uncomfortable asking questions about my transaction. On the other hand the lady who took my picture was completely the opposite who was very kind, and somehow made feel a little bit better about the whole interaction with the other employee. I will file a formal complaint regarding the way I was treated by this employee.

This office is 10min from my house so I thought I would see how long the wait was for non-appointments. To my surprise, I was in and out in 1 hour! Note: I filled out the application and uploaded my documents online, showed up 5 minutes before opening, and scanned the QR code for a line position the moment I got inside. Also, the lady at window #1 was both pleasant and helpful so I'm not sure why this place gets such a bad wrap! Go early, come prepared, follow directions, and be respectful for a smooth process.

After waiting the required three days, I attempted to request a replacement, but the system would not allow me to do so. That experience alone was already frustrating, which led me to visit the office in person today. The first employee I spoke with was direct and helpful regarding what I needed to do. However, my experience changed once I was sent to window #21. The employee assisting me there was rude, unclear, and difficult to communicate with. She handed me paperwork without properly explaining the next steps. She was wearing a mask and speaking very softly, making it difficult to hear or understand her instructions. When I asked what I was supposed to do with the paper, she simply pointed me toward the computers without giving clear guidance. Afterward, when I got back in line and asked additional questions for clarification, she became argumentative instead of helpful. I eventually asked for her employee number, and she gave me "C5." I mentioned I would take a picture, and there was no issue with that. Overall, this employee would greatly benefit from additional training in communication and customer service. Customers come in already frustrated at times, and clear, respectful assistance makes a big difference. Other than that, it wasn't a long line to be seen, which gave star.

So now they are ticketing for street cleaning when they don't sweep the street!…read more I know when they come. They didnt come. But the parking popo came and gave me a ticket anyway. Yes it was during the 'no parking street cleaning' hours (barely) but when they don't clean the street i feel like i shouldn't get a ticket. I think the city is desperate for ticket money so they can fund more stupid biking leaning rail projects or something. Also have you noticed that they don't put the brushes down since Covid? Why? Are they vacuuming instead? To me the street looks exactly the same before and after I want to do like Russian Hill did and get rid of the street sweepers. Gonna have to look into how they managed that.....

In April 2014, my car was towed for parking in a no-parking zone, and I was charged $700 for this single violation (this amount includes the ticket, towing fee, and tax). I found out this was because there was a white-colored sticker covering up the word "except" on the parking sign, so it read "no parking 7-9, 3-7, sat and sun"; in my hurry to make the event I had not seen the camouflaged sticker nor did it occur to me that it was odd to restrict parking only on weekends. However, I had a case because the sticker was hard to see and the sign had obviously been tampered with. I took pics and video of the sign. Picture: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByBotxOxRJkDLVNyUkFBdU4xcnRxUzJOREYtVG1DdDBqLVUw (note the sticker appears black only because of the flash of the camera. It's white in the video). Video: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByBotxOxRJkDY0E0bWZXVkxrMlA5cFlUdjlLUk9McVptVmg0 I schedule an in-person hearing and the lady at the desk basically IGNORED everything I said about pictures and video and REFUSED to look at them. She just said "we will send someone out to see if the sticker is still there". Predictably of course, weeks later they claimed that they could not find the sticker on the sign, and the case was closed. It doesn't take a genius to see how illogical and scummy this is, seeing that I already have video evidence (which they REFUSED to look at) that the sticker WAS in fact on that sign, whether or not the sticker had been removed since then. To escalate the case I would have had to pay $25, and of course I did not do that because I knew it would just be a repeat of what happened, and was definitely not willing to lose $25 ON TOP OF the $700 they already stole. It is now 2019, 5 years since the incident, and I still bear the stress of this event to this day. I still want my $700 back. As far as I am concerned the city of San Francisco owes me $700 and I think this burden will stay with me for the rest of my life.
