I had called the Millbrae UPS store a few days prior to confirm their mailbox rental promotion -- specifically the "first three months free" deal, which I was told over the phone did apply, and that I would just need to pay the setup fee. Confident in that information, I walked into the store to open a mailbox. Unfortunately, I was met with the most unprofessional and rude service I've ever experienced. A staff member named Shan (or Sean) interrupted me mid-sentence when I tried to explain the offer and flat out denied the promotion. I let him know that I spoke to someone on the phone who confirmed it, and instead of helping or clarifying, he dismissively said it wasn't valid at their store. Even after I showed him a QR code from the Millbrae location referencing the promotion, he arrogantly said it was "incorrect" and offered no further assistance. I asked to speak to a manager, and he told me the manager wasn't in. When I asked for the contact number, he gave me a fake phone number. Completely unacceptable. I walked in simply wanting to open a PO box -- not to be belittled or made to feel uncomfortable. Extremely disappointing experience at this UPS Store. I came to return an Amazon package -- the official return instruction clearly said "box needed" but never mentioned that a "product box" wasn't allowed or that a specific type of box was required. My box was sturdy, sealed, and properly packaged, yet the staff member Shawn kept insisting it was a "product box" and repeatedly refused to accept it. His attitude was condescending and completely unhelpful -- he just kept saying "that's a product box" instead of explaining or offering any assistance. I am 35 weeks pregnant, holding a heavy package, and Shawn stood there watching without offering even the slightest help or empathy. The lack of basic courtesy and professionalism was shocking. Amazon's website never states that a product box can't be used -- only that a box is needed. This location clearly makes up its own rules and treats customers unfairly. read more

This store nickels and dimes on everything and makes it extremely hard to process returns. First, they tell you they charge for packing tape. I bought my own and sealed up the package. They used to just scan the label. Now, they make you email them and then charge you $2.00 to print it or you have to print it yourself. Considering FedEx does a lot of this for free, UPS is seriously slacking. If I didn't need to use the prepaid label the merchant provided me via UPS, I would've went elsewhere. I come in often with a ton of returns, and not once has he ever made me feel like an inconvenience. He's always willing to help, always upbeat, and truly goes above and beyond for every single person who walks through the door. There was even a time when I was short on tape, and instead of making me buy a whole roll (like most other UPS stores usually do), he helped me out without hesitation. Would give it a negative star if I could. They famously have the most rude employees ever. Years ago, brought my daughter here for a passport photo. The staff was so rude that my daughter cried. Trying to drop off the Amazon parcel here today. No one was around. Asked for a while and a girl showed up. The staff asked me if it is the right label. I honestly thought she asked me if it was the original label. I said yes. She directed me to usps. The nice staff at usps helped me figure out I should be back. I came in and stated that I should be here. She raised her voice and said I was arguing with her. I was like? Huh? I had to ask her to stop and just scan the code. I said 'stop and just scan the code'. She asked me to stop? lol had to repeat my request asking her to stop. Not sure if she is mentally okay or she just hates her job and life too much for Monday. The worst... owner has very bad attitude. There was an mistake on notary. The lady promised we can come back to fix the problem and no charge. We decided to come back the next day because we have to print out the form to sign again. We pay $12sth and $15for notary. We took the letter back and decided to come back next day. The next day we called the store, another lady picked up the phone (which is the owner) she said we have to pay again. She won't take the promise because that lady just an employee. Really?? And she refused to refund us. The letter never send out. We took it back. So the $12 they charged me for doing nothing . We got yelled at and she hang me up.. horrible horrible read more

It is very convenient that they are open on Sunday's. That in itself gives them the stars. It may be tough due to street parking to carry a big box in there to ship w whereas FedEx down the street has their own parking lot, though it can be full as well. They are no nonsense, transactional, straight to the point. Efficient with Amazon returns especially. read more

I travel a LOT each year and use UPS almost exclusively and can say that this store is one of the absolute worst I've ever used. The price to ship something changed 3 times, from the $80s to the $90s then over $200 and then to top it off, they broke a used camera that I had purchased that day and was going to ship home. They reimbursed me for the camera, which was good, but only once my wife brought that to their attention. Once the cost to ship exceeded $200, I said never mind and packed the items in my luggage, so beware if you decide to use this location to ship. read more

There's a good reason this store does not have the best reviews. Often the staff is no friendly. There is one employee who is consistently nice but it seems like ownership is not. Also it's impossible to get any cell or wifi in this store. It's an ongoing issue and all they have to do is create stringer wifi in store. Without it, it's impossible to return abutting where you have to check your returns online. You finally find a place to park. Get out if your car and attempt for 20 minutes to find service to load your return WR code. But it never happens. I will mo longer stop again in Millbrae but head over to Burlingame Plaza. If I could give this branch 0 I will. I've only been here a couple of times and every single time, the customer service is just getting worse. I was here earlier to pick up a package because I received a notification that it is ready for pick up. I went there, had my ID ready, no friendly greeting or whatever, and I was told that the package is on its way the UPS store. I just don't understand how we are looking at the same tracking number and seeing 2 different things. Mine said it is ready for pick up and his said still on the way. He didn't even bother to ask me for more information such as the email that I received or text to confirm my side of information. So the , I voluntarily showed him my phone and it states there that the package was received by Jose. Funny enough, I was already talking to Jose and he told me that he didn't receive anything from the UPS driver. I then went home and filed a claim. Waited a couple of hours before calling the branch to see if there's any update. I was only told to wait for a call within the next 7-8 days. Even on the phone, I can hear the boredom and unwillingness to help. I am usually not stirred by this kind of situation but the fact that every single person that I talked to in that branch, seems like they weren't willing to help. Jose didn't offer any resolutions to the lost package. He didn't even bother checking in the back just to double check until I asked him to do so. I know that my presence won't be a huge impact on this branch, but for those of you who have patience to read reviews, beware of this branch. UPDATE: THUS HAPPENED EARLY FEB I usually have to go into a UPS store once or twice a month for notary service or to mail something quickly. This time I had to do a notary appointment and chose this location as it is the closet where I was today. When I walked the the gentleman behind the desk rudely said "whatever you need to do it going to be a while". I said I had a 2 o'clock appointment with a notary (made the previous day) and he didn't care. I was there 5 mins early and has to wait nearly 45 mins to be seen. This is by far the most unprofessional UPS store I've been to out of over a dozen in the bay. When I left about 10 people were waiting to be serviced.....people were just literally walking out of the store due to the extreme waits and the employees working had no sense of urgency whatsoever. On top of it, the main person working the front would run to the back every time a mailbox customer came in to grab the mail....like they have a key to get their own mail. This further slowed down things as they made small talk like no one was waiting. I will never return to this location due to how poorly it is managed. read more

I wanted to share this immediately following the very expensive nightmare that I just dealt with at the "UPS store" in Millbrae on Broadway Ave. My dad has an eye condition that is very serious he lives in Baja California so trying to be a good son and look out for him I purchased a prescription pair of eye glasses that are transitioning for his medical condition that he himself could not afford to to being on social security. I asked the young lady at that store they would guarantee that he would get them and they charged me which is very expensive to ship such a small item...!! But due to the fact of his need for them there was no question I would do it. As I watch the tracking they said that I had put the wrong apartment number which was a lie because he does not live in an apartment he lives in a house so they sent the item back to my address and refused to give me my money back due to their error...! Me like many others and watching every penny right now and could not afford to lose that money I finally spoke with the owner Al and I mean this in every sense of the word The guy is a liar and a crook...! He said he had spoke with somebody at UPS who was supervisor and customer service which I found out to be a lie they never talk to him ever then he dodged my call for weeks because he could see my number on caller ID I block my number called back they picked up and he got on the phone. So I tried back one more time and told him if you do not return the money I will take you to small claims court and he told me go ahead and hung up on my face...! What floored me was "we are an independent franchise and can't help you find another notary". What a pathetic attitude. We are in a hurry. We called - couldn't get through your phone tree - but notary hours at UPS are until 5pm. Drive there and ... meh - fooled you. A modicum of professionalism is in order. Stopped by the store today to mail off a package and it wasn't open. The hours say they open at 0830 and yet there were 4 people at 0845 waiting for the doors to open. No one was even in the building. Someone tried to call to see if maybe someone was in there but forgot what time it was but no one was there. To top it off it was raining. If the hours changed then the website should state that as well as the phone recording. I will be going to Burlingame instead. I don't care for unreliable businesses. read more

Small place, but they get things done for you quickly and efficiently so you'll be out the door in no time. They do it all, shipping, pictures for passports, packaging... On the right wall they have tools that you can use and purchase (from markers and pens to rulers.) However it's a bit pricy, so I just make a visit to Office Depot to buy a small box (around $3-8) and some cushion packagings (around $3.00) which is cheaper than having them package it for you. read more
