Be prepared to wait for at least 30 minutes. There is always only one guy at the counter and he is absolutely the slowest postal worker I've ever encountered. If you are in a hurry go to the down town San Mateo post office. read more

This is a smaller sized post office is on a street that has local restaurants, salons, and professional offices. It's cozy and there are angled parking spots available (no meters) that is prone to tickets if you try to do a u-turn on that street. With a smaller branch comes the warm familiarity when doing services there enough times (think Cheers where everyone knows your name and how your family is doing) and it's a nice change of pace in an otherwise bustling area. The post service clerks are all very friendly and you may even get the angry (but loving) Asian scolding if you choose the unnecessarily expensive box to mail your items. This happened to me once and I was highly amused and appreciative that she was able to save me money by helping me choose a different USPS mailer. (To me, the boxes and types all seem the same, yikes!) Environment wise, this post office is on the older side. It is clean though, and well maintained. When you enter the front door, there are rows of po boxes you can rent and on the left there are another set of doors if you need direct service (i.e. mailing, submit a form to a real person). P.S. This post office a pokestop! There are also a number of stops at the street corners on either direction. read more

My friends make fun of me for writing yelp reviews for post offices: but someone needs to, especially when they are amazing! The lady who assisted me today, was so helpful in finding me the appropriate packaging for my items and helping me find the most economical shipping method. The experience was quick easy, and there was no line when I walked in. I don't live in San Mateo but this makes me want to save all of my postage projects for when I am in the area so that I can use this post office. read more

Very disappointing office! Indicating 1 star because several of my mailings had not been delivered! I had to mail four international letters. I believe that postage suggested by a female worker was incorrect. One of my letters stamped and processed was delivered to me the very next day (!!!) not to addressee , but to me, the sender. I had to mail it again using another post office and it was delivered just fine. Unfortunately, the other three letters were never delivered (mailed over a month ago). The bad part is that they contained time-sensitive materials. Will have to use another USPS location going forward. read more

Came during lunch time to drop off a package and there was no line! The employee was quick, nice, and helpful. Generally, I would feel like the employees at any USPS are slow and dread going to work but definitely not here (I was forced to purchase two stamps at a different location because they refused to let me just purchase one). read more

Oh 25th Ave USPS, why can't you be MY post office? As far as post offices go, this one is the bee's knee's in San Mateo... MUCH better than the one on Delaware Street. I waited in line for less than two minutes and got my package mailed, no sweat. And it's way closer to my house! Leave it to the U.S. Government to assign me to the crappier of the two in the area. This is the most pleasant in-person USPS experience I've ever had. The other ones I've been to have always had slow service and long lines. I came here to certify a letter delivery a Wednesday at lunchtime and I was in and out of there in less than 5 minutes. The employee helped me out immediately and answered all the questions I had, SO NICE. Good thing I work near here, so I will definitely be back if I ever have to drop off a delivery package. read more

This post office even though it has a long line it has people helping you through it great employees very helpful compared to the Fresno and Nees post office where the workers are indifferent and it is quite a chore to get in and out. They offer to a APC machines so that you can mail your items without standing in line it is a huge Plus read more

It's super weird to review a post office being that the USPS is sometimes seen as the DMV or dentist or tax assessor offices - necessary but a serious PIA. But, seriously, this the cutest little post office. It's never full and you are seen within 5 minutes. It helps that there is not a ton of parking in a parking lot. Dear USPS, Please do not, and I mean do NOT, shut down the 25th Avenue Station. Parking is ample along 25th Avenue...and by ample, I mean I'm okay with parking in an angled space two blocks away and walking. I don't have to park right at the front door every time. Service: good and friendly. Line flow: usually good, except on Mondays. But Mondays, and some Tuesdays, Friday afternoons and even Saturdays, seem to be USPS' busiest times. One of the ladies that works there told me that people drive from various communities just to use their office, whether for convenience for service. Apparently Burlingame's post office has a bad reputation that precedes it and many of her customers come from Burlingame. I've driven from Redwood City just to use this PO b/c I like the small town feel of the location, neighborhood (which is nice), and the consistently good service. I've been to some lousy POs and excellent POs. This ranks up there among the most excellent I've ever been to. read more

I really like this location because of the older white gentleman who works here, Steven. He's the nicest postal worker ever. Rather than just the normal steps, he'll go out of his way to help you through the different options you have or try to convince you to spend less money on shipping! The other week, I needed to ship a book to a girl in San Francisco, and rather than flat rate priority, he said I should send it by weight because it would be $2 less. The parking on 25th isn't always the greatest and they don't have all of the Priority Mail boxes, but Steven makes this post office worth the wait! :) read more

Cute little post office! Suprisingly constantly busy, so you will have to wait in line. The workers are nice, and the lady helped me a lot when I was confused on how to ship back a dress to China. It was nice of her to give me the cheapest option of shipping (saving my at least $30!) I would recommend coming here if you want to avoid long lines at bigger offices! read more

Whenever I have something to mail, I go to this post office on my lunch break. The employees are nice and helpful, and my packages and cards always make it to their destination on schedule. I got my little cousin an Iron Man toy for his birthday, and then realized I had to mail it to him. I used 3 grocery store paper bags to wrap his present so I could mail it. I only had scotch tape, so I scotch tape the hell out of my package. The nice lady at the post office used their tape to make sure it was good to go. Great service. Never really a line. read more

I went there not realizing it is tax deadline today. Long line and one worker. It is usually not bad, but they should have planned it better for today and got an extra worker come in. It took much longer to mail simple stuff since everybody else was sending tax document with certified mail form... And she never even tried to call somebody for help. If you truly want service with a simle, this is the place to be! The ladies here are always, nice helpful and friendly. Especially Chanda(hopefully I spelled that right), who knew my name and my boyfriend by the second time we came in. We now come about once a week. We opened a p.o. box here mainly because of the great service here, they always know away to help you send a package cost effectively. Which is important to us because we are Chicago natives thus we are always mailing things back to our college aged kids! read more
