I'm not a big fan of the post office and have had many bad experiences. This location is one of the best they all should strive to be like this. I've been here a few times the staff are helpful in mailing options and prices. Great service. Today the lady was the best possible. I wish I could leave a zero. I had a passport appointment for my infant, arrived 5 minutes late and they refused to take me stating that they were closing in 5 minutes. It's impossible to find a parking space at this location and the staff laughed when I told them I had waited two months and had to work during the week so I couldn't do a walk in. It's very disheartening to try to support your fellow local government workers especially when there's a lot of discussion around closing post offices throughout the country, only to encounter unreasonable, rude and dismissive staff. I've definitely learned my lesson and won't be back. read more

Three things are certain in life: death, taxes, and the fact that the Burlingame branch of the US Postal Service never answers their phone, ever. If you need to speak with someone about any kind of issue, you will have to go there in person, and if someone there promises you'll get a call back, you can bank on the fact that you won't. If you do go there in person, expect to be treated as though your entire existence is a terrible inconvenience to them. I rarely visit the post office but had to mail out three packages on three different occasions (this week and last week) and had three different postal workers help me. I was so thankful for their assistance that I wanted to write a Yelp review. I was surprised how low this post office was rated since I had friendly, efficient and good service from all three workers. One worker (Victor) even saved me money by helping me understand that I could consolidate my items and use a different box depending on where I am shipping. I feel that he went out of his way to assist and create a great customer experience. I saw that the bad reviews were from a year or two ago and the latest reviews have been great. I think this post office is making changes to improve their service and I would definitely go back given my pleasant experiences with the employees. read more

It said it opens @8:30am but today people waited for worker to show up. It opened @8:50! Worker was late and showed up holding a cup of coffee taking his sweet time to open up! Even the big USPS truck driver waited outside for the place to open. Terrible! read more

I hate to say it but this place is an absolute nightmare. I would drive the extra minute to the UPS store two blocks away and pay a couple more bucks for much better customer service (friendly, helpful, AND quick). Nearly every time I come here to drop a package off with pre-paid postage, all of the bins are locked. There is usually only one person working, two max. Slow, incompetent, often unfriendly workers. I've waited 30+ minutes just to ship one small package and have witnessed MANY unhappy customers like me (and some outbursts and people storming out). I would avoid at all costs! read more

In-and-out, and that's really the best I can expect from a post office. I've been here twice, both to just send simple mails. The first time I had an envelope so I just used the self-service machine and buy stamps and put it in the collection bin. (Small note: the minimum no. of stamps that can be bought is 2, which comes out to like a dollar) The second time I didn't have one so just grabbed one that was available (it's only like 50 cents), wrote down the details and got to the counter where they promptly got me checked out. That's all I can wish for at a post office, oh, and it's open until 1pm on Saturdays so you can sleep in and still arrive on time to get your mailings in! read more

This post office is the worst. I've had numerous packages either LOST, or, I had to go through hurdles in order to find it at another location. The only thing I've ever received from them is an eye roll, and a customer complaint form. I can't even trust to have packages re-delivered or held here, as my postal worker doesn't even attempt to knock on the door for signed packages, and if I request it he held, this location is useless. Can't stress enough, this is a waste of taxpayer money. read more

I had a really good experience. I interacted with a woman named Linda, I believe. I had asked about a package intercept request and she was very willing to go check in the back for me. There was also a carrier there that was going to the warehouse where my package was being held and told me that he was going to go check. He even went through the trouble of delivering it that night. It really made my day. They were both really helpful people! I went to the millbrae post office a few minutes earlier and there was a lady there that was not very friendly so there was a deep contrast between Millbrae and this Burlingame location. This was the only post office within 50 miles of me that had appointment availability for passports. Went in at my scheduled time and was greeted right away. Linda helped my family with our applications. She was very friendly and professional and got our paperwork done quickly. Too bad this post office isn't closer to my house. I echo everyone's complaints about the passport appointment. Worst customer service. I have a baby and I cant predict when he will fall asleep. We arrived an hour early of our appointment so they can take a quick picture. They did not accommodate at all. What's a quick picture going to do to the line? They couldnt even accommodate a baby...ridiculous. Of course my baby fell asleep right at the appointment and they made me wake him up. It takes 1 minute to take a picture....its not going to kill anyone in line. read more

Oh, what fresh hell was that?!? The long and short of it: my clerk could not count change; both clerks on the floor were being bullied by a supervisor; all the cash drawers were devoid of change for a twenty dollar bill save one; supervisor spent an inordinate amount of time admonishing the clerks for not having gone to the bank earlier in their shifts 'I told you all to go to the bank sooner!' A woman at the neighboring window simply offered to pay for my stamps just to have the upset that was just ratcheting up end. The cherry on the poop cake came when the supervisor asked the clerk with the cash drawer full of fives to hand some over to her, 'Don't take my fives!!!' A public meltdown of operatic proportions ensued (think: raised voices and lots of arm gestures). I was both embarrassed for them and compelled to watch. Mind you, there was no line when I entered, but it quickly grew during my prolonged visit. There was time spent explaining to the clerk what my change would be and why. Matters were not helped by having the supervisor look on and add her two cents' worth to the transaction. She radiated tension which only served to further the upset and confusion of the clerk. The interaction between staff and supervisor seemed, unfortunately, fairly entrenched and one that could best be characterized as 'toxic'. read more

I can't believe hey left that huge building for this! I understand that the building was probably WAY too big for the post office now since business is low, but they still had long lines. This place can't even support long lines. This place is super cramped..I guess if there are like 5 people you're ok IF all counters are open, which there are 3, but if only one person...forget it. When I first got here there was a long wrapping into itself and it was only like 10 people. Okay for a drop off if you have everything already labeled and ready to go, but don't come here for anything else. The employees at this USPS office are extremely professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous. During my most recent visit, I needed to mail my old passport with the proper forms, provide payment for the new passport, and send by priority mail. The supervisor, Diane, was totally knowledgeable about all aspects of what was required. If not for she, I would have sent the passport accompanied by an incorrectly filled-out form, and it would have been returned to me as incomplete. Diane, and the several employees working in the office during my visit (Susanna, Linda, and Robert) were all very professional, efficient, courteous, and knowledgeable. read more

Friendly Service over and beyond! My husband and I were trying to get our passports updated and went to the Post office near Burlingame Ave to find out where to get photos. We were served right there. They took our photos, put them on our applications, packed them up and shipped them off! It was so easy and the staff was so nice. read more

I'm giving it four stars because ultimately they get the job done and also because I appreciate what they do. But compared to other post office locations, e.g. the one in my city and a couple of others in San Francisco, this one is incredibly difficult. It's not the people behind the desk, who are wonderful. It's just that it seems to take forever to wait in that long snaking line. And I'm not talking about during COVID, because though I've been here during the pandemic, I've also been here many times beforehand--and the wait has been alarmingly agonizingly fast. And btw., the wait has been loooong even when there have been only one or two people in line before me. Despite it all, on my recent visit there, I went to get a bunch of stamps and wanted to pick the "perfect" ones with "Love" and hearts on it ... the guy was patient and kind while I dithered, so thank you and a shout out! read more

I visit this post office on average 3 times a week to drop off my parcels for my small business and I have a PO Box here. I need my packages to be scanned in so I always wait in line and they always scan them for me. On the very rare occasion that I can not wait, my parcels always have been processed and never had that dreaded "pre-transit" tracking for too long. Though I am confident with this post office and their employees I still prefer to wait in line for a receipt of drop off as a safety precaution just in case. I used to go to the Delaware location however the parking became too stressful so I have been frequenting this one for the last year and the employees have always been very nice and helpful and served me no attitude. Nice staff but nothing spectacular, just doing their job. Consistently screws up mail hold. They hold it but in my case never deliver at the end of the hold date. Current mail hold was suppose to end yesterday and mail would then resume today. I got home expecting two medical prescriptions would be in my mail box but no such luck, I came home to an empty mail box and it is a three day weekend so I'm out of medication until Tuesday afternoon , today is Saturday . I reviewed my mail hold instructions to confirm that mail should have been delivered to my home today. This is the third time in two years the Burlingame Post Office has screwed this very basic and simple task up. Time to fire the boss at the Burlingame Post Office. Wait, they are federal government employees, none of them get fired even for total and consistent incompetence. They will hear from me in person on Tuesday morning and I won't be polite, I'll be blunt. I'm very frustrated. read more

This review is strictly for Diane/Diana only. Unbelievable is the first word that comes to mind! Zero stars should definitely be an option. I do not understand how she can be a supervisor. She obviously hates her job (maybe even life) with a passion. For my family's passport appointment, we arrived 15 minutes early and she didn't see us until 20 minutes after the scheduled time. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't upset about the wait time because I am a pretty understanding person and, let's be honest, government agencies never run on time. During the 40 minutes wait, I watched her interact with customers and she was rude to every single person who crossed her path (including her co-workers). Her tone and demeanor was just disgusting to listen to. When she finally called for us, I was hoping for the best. As I was walking up, optimisticlly, I thought to myself that we could luck out and end up on her good side. But true to her nature, she was rude from the second we stepped up to the counter. About 15 minutes into our appointment, I could no longer hold my tongue and I gave her a piece of my mind. Though she had the audacity to threaten not to process our passports, at the very least, she understood that this is not okay. Only after I confronted her, was she slightly tolerable. If we didn't need the passports soon I definitely would have ripped into her. I am not asking for her to go above and beyond when it comes to customer service, just for her to be civilized and be a decent human being. Recommendations: 1) if you absolutely need to go to USPS and you need to interact with Diane/Diana, do not take her bullsh** and give it back to her. 2) if you need a passport appointment go to the Burlingame Library (read side note below). *Side note, I forgot a document so I was unable to process one out of the four passports. But as soon as I left the USPS, I walked over to the Burlingame Library, inquired with the person there about what documents I needed. She helped me and was even able to get me an appointment 45 minutes later. I came back for my appointment and she processed my paperwork in less than 10 minutes.
