We have been living in Millbrae for more than 30 years, and I don't remember if I ever had any problems during my visits. I must mention our mailman Joe who is highly professional and kind. Whenever I say any issue to Joe, he tries his best to solve the problem. Another person I would like to thank is Fernando, who has been in the Millbrae location for a long time. Did the post office worker seriously just tell me that they don't sell international stamps? I had to do a double take. I needed stamps to mail letters to England (which I've bought before) and this woman who was not familiar with her job said they only sold stamps for United States letters. Thankfully a supervisor heard me and got the stamps and showed her that VIOLA, people do Mail letters to family and friends outside of the country! Avoid the middle aged woman to the far right if you can. Always complains about her hand scanner not working (this is been going on for months). This time I had 2 packages - one with a prepaid label and one w/a QR code for her to scan and print the label and she told me I should have used the kiosk in the lobby for BOTH transactions. If I CHOOSE to stand in line so you can wait on me, that's what you should do - not complain about it or that fact that your scanner is erratic or imply that my transactions are a bother for you. If you're gong to complain, complain to the people who choose to pack their items AT THE COUNTER wasting everybody's time instead of doing it beforehand like the rest of us.... Hello Everyone! I had to mail a small pre-paid package, and a worker named Jane said to put it on the counter across the lobby, where a sign said "push the package until it falls into the blue bin" which was not even close to the counter. So I asked Jane if I should just leave it on the counter and she YELLED at me to place it on the counter. I understand she had other customers, but I do not like being yelled at. This was not in a loud voice, it was like she was screaming at a stupid child. I have been a manager, and would never tolerate this kind of disrespect to customers. My first time receiving someone name Shirley at the counter who had an attitude with FAKE SMILE to her customer. I understand it's December which the most stressful month in the year. You might be tired of carry smiling face all day. But you don't need to have an attitude towards to someone who doesn't have much experience with shipping the boxes. They don't care about the services and the stars anyway because it's Government job. They have their UNION to back them up. THEY DO NOT GET FIRED. And that's why they don't give a DAMN about you. If they get commission with 5 stars will be different story here. The second round, we got a different person. It's much better and got the job done. I have checked all of post offices have very low stars with a lot of bad reviews. Wherever office you go to, it really depends who is the person helping you. I tried to drop off a package at the Millbrae location and the lady at the service desk told me that the label was wrong. She then commented that it was so heavy and asked what was inside. I told her that they were ceiling lights and she shrugged her shoulder and said that the customs officer would check it anyways. Um, ok.. I looked over the label and understood where there could be some confusion. I didn't bother arguing with her about it because she seemed confident about what she was talking about. So afterwards I went to drop it off at the Daly City location because the interaction with the lady at Millbrae made me feel like I was doing something wrong.. and the gentleman at the Daly City location processed it without any trouble. I went in and out in 2 minutes. The reason why I give Millbrae 2 stars instead of 1 star is because at least she said sorry. I just didn't understand why I had to go to another location 7 miles away from home when there's a post office 1 mile away from me. read more

I've been going to this post office for the last 10 years and I've seen a vast improvement in their service, speed, and friendliness in the past few years. The lines go by quick and the staff at the counter never try to up charge you to something unnecessary. Don't know why they don't have better review on yelp but I was very satisfied with both the parking and services. read more

Not sure who thought those new drive through mailboxes were a good idea but they should be fired. Hard to access from a vehicle. Unless they plan to do away with the drive-through, these boxes are a complete failure and underscore how incompetent the USPS can be. Horrible. read more

I have regular dealings with this post office and they have never been pleasant...this location has such a low bar for customer "service" that the bar is basically buried in the ground. But my recent ordeal regarding a passport application was really the worst. So if you're in a position to need a passport that actually requires in-person processing (my previous one was stolen), then you should pick ANY post office but this one.....maybe even consider just paying a passport service and skipping the USPS altogether. The extra fees are worth every minute of your life that you get to snatch back from the jaws of post office bedlam. Plus, you don't have to navigate the ridiculous time constraints of only getting your passport processed between the hours of 10am-3pm on weekdays only. Despite what the USPS site says about the location (see image), the appointment scheduling phone # DOES NOT work (rings endlessly) and there is no online appointment scheduling tool. So you have NO OPTION but to go to the post office directly, only to learn that they DON'T process passports at all on Monday (despite what the site says) and they only do so by appointment.....AND YOU HAVE TO SHOW UP IN PERSON TO SCHEDULE THAT APPOINTMENT, that you then return for months later. You literally have to drive there, park nowhere nearby as parking is mostly reserved for their employee vehicles, stand in their insane lines caused by package processing inefficiency, and make an appointment to COME BACK at some point in the not-near future for your actual passport process. The amount of times I was told, "that's an error on the USPS site" as a way of explaining the countless things that went wrong.......truly astounding. No accountability and no effort at all to help resolve the many failings on their end. I've spent weeks getting all the necessary paperwork in order for my family after having all of our documents stolen.....the Passport Agency and State Department make it hard enough to get everything in order....and then to show up at the USPS with everything, as instructed, and to have such a lack of care and competence --- completely unacceptable. I've been instructed to attend a passport "fair" which will require another day of missed work and another round of begging for appointments in person. Lucky me. read more

I asked an employee if there was a mail chute or area I could leave my box that already had prepaid postage and she responded "Im busy, I don't have time for this". Supervisor named Taylor is unbelievably rude. She was rude when my wife and I were mailing a package. After I asked for a business card. She told me she does not have any. She would not even give me her name and flipped her ID batch so I can't see her name. She then physically (touching me and pushing) shoved me out the door, it was Saturday at 1pm and locked it because the store is now closed. Through the locked glass door I asked again for her name to file a complaint. She rudely refused and the said I am harassing her. I was speechless. The staff here are very nice. Two to three of them I recognize from at least 5 years ago out of the numerous random visits I recently mailed about 8 to 9 guitar tablature music books to varoius people. One of them was sent from this MIllbrae post office. Everyone else received theirs but one bounced back and showed up at my doorstep with stamps on the package that says RETURN TO SENDER and another stamp or two that say "books, magazines, newspapers must come from the vendor" WTF Look this wasn't a media mail scam where I sent picture books instead of books that were purely text. I legitimately paid for PRIORITY MAIL. The address was right as far as I was concerned. Other people have been sending all sorts of $h*t in the mail (white powder, toenail clipping$, booger$, loose hair, junk newspaper, magazine, book pages crumbled up for packaging and cushioning etc) , and they delivered! But my tab book? NO NO NO! Stop the presses! What kind of Dopefiend Dip$h*t B*tcha$$ policy is this? And who was the twit twat who did this in the back or receiving station? I bet it was the same doofus who decided that paying members should lineup with the rest of the public on free day at the Academy of Science in SF? So now I will have to take it up with USPS. And I'm guessing I have to resend it somewhere else to make it get to its destination, and I'm out another $7. M***AF*GGAZ!!!! Update: I took the returned package to another post office and calmy explained my sitch to the clerk, who was as puzzled as I was to why this happened. Living in Millbrae for 2 years gave me several occasions to visit the post office. The biggest compliant I had was that it was always slow, very long lines and only 1 person behind the counter working. The line was perpetually filled with little old ladies needing a book of stamps or worse, ONE stamp. This was of course taking into account all the signs they have posted for the machines in the lobby that SELL STAMPS. But I digress. I moved recently. Being the Type A personality that I am, I mailed in my change of address/mail forwarding form weeks before I moved. I never got a confirmation from the post office but since the forms said, wait 10 days before contacting the post office, that's what I did. When I first called, the slightly perplexed woman on the phone said that she couldn't "get into her system" and would have to call me back. She never did. The next day I called and got the same woman but this time, she was able to check "her system" and lo and behold, there was no record of my change of address. ARG! By this point, I have not received ANY mail for 3 weeks. My new post office couldn't send me mail until they got it from Millbrae and Millbrae didn't even know I moved! I was told to submit a new form, in person an that would rectify everything. I went online, filled out the form, printed it and drove to Millbrae on my lunch hour. Of course, everyone and their mother is at the post office at lunch time and I get in line behind 4 people. When it is finally my turn, the woman takes one look at my form and tells me it's the WRONG form. WTF? I am slightly irritated but sorta maintain my composure when I tell her that this is the form that is online and it even instructs you to print it out and bring it to the post office. She seems not to care just hands me a different form and calls the next person in line. I fill out the "new" form and get back in the line which has grown by 5 people. I will supposedly start getting mail in 12 business days. This instills little faith in me about our governmental agencies. read more

I was at the post office at 8:40 am dropping off a parcel. There were 3 other people in the line in front of me and 3 people behind. We were all dropping off parcels but wanted a receipt for the drop offs. After waiting 5 minutes, the clerk rudely announced that she would not give receipts today because she was on her own and too busy. When I questioned how she can refuse to give out receipts she then said she had "ran out of tape". She was very rude and dismissed everyone and refused to provide a service she is supposed to just because she did not want to do the work. This is not acceptable behavior. read more

Seriously, the service is REALLY bad when after waiting in line for way too long and needing to mail packages asap, I choose to leave and take the time to drive over to FedEx instead. I mean, I'm busy and don't really want to take more time out of my day to mail these packages or pay more to mail packages at FedEx. However, the service at this Broadway St. Post Office was so bad I felt I had no choice but to take my packages elsewhere. They opened late so there was a line out of the door and when we finally were let in the the post office the service was incredibly poor. The woman employee was so unpleasant to work with and was so rude, telling me she was going to rip my packages open and then send them back to me instead of sending them to my intended recipients. What!? I was mailing a book and a cd to my grandmother for her birthday and was clear about the contents. Postmaster Richard Fletcher showed extreme rudeness and insensitivity. He does not belong in a position as the one he is in nor should he be dealing with customers. I will not accuse him of being a racist which he thought I may have been hinting at in my speech but I was not. He verbally threatened to kick me out of the post office if I accused him of being racist which I did not. If anything he was very rude from the start and he knows it. I wanted to pick up a package dropped off by FedEx hours earlier and he refused to give me my package since it hadn't been processed. Before that he wanted to verify that it is my P.O. Box and my Driver's License was insufficient as it had a home address on it and not the P.O. Box address. I went to my car and brought him three proofs of ID with my P.O. Box number on them all. He was on a cell phone outside when I had the proof in hand and was waiting for him outside the post office where he was to show him. He treated me very badly and it is unacceptable. It should be known that some days back I received a package delivery notification via email by the vendor of my product and the lady behind the counter at the post office went and found it. I had no tag or anything. She didn't tell me that I needed to wait for the package to be processed and make me have to wait until the next day like Richard did. She verified my identification by asking for my ID card and I got the package. Businees done and taken care of. Now if she bent the rules a bit and Fletcher wanted to follow them I understand but rudeness is completely unacceptable Richard and Sammy has zero tolerance for it. You should understand that. God willing proper action will be taken to ensure a safe and comforting postal service business environment. Count on it. read more

REMEMBER PEOPLE: Be nice to people and they will be less inclined to mistreat you. Now that the USPS location in Burlingame has closed for good, I've had to go look out elsewhere. Had a solid experience here when getting my passport. I had to wait a while, but that's kind of a given at USPS. Two nice ladies behind the counter helped me take my new picture and put through the documents to get a new passport after I had my last one go missing in my sock drawer- stupid, I know. I have an Etsy shop in Southern California and accidentally shipped a package to a customer's previous address in Millbrae. I called the post office expecting the classic bureacratic response of "there's nothing we can do, blah blah...." Instead a lovely person named Taylor took my call, listened to my story, contacted the neighborhood carrier, intercepted the package, held it for return to me, and was sweet, polite and incredibly well-versed throughout the process. The visits to the post office can deal with some sophisticated stuff and often it does take some time to settle. The positive stuffs- lots of PO boxes available, drive thru mail drop boxes, self service machine, located downtown with their own private parking lot, next to Safeway and Starbucks. The negatives- since burlingame post office closed, this location seems to be busier. Came here on a Saturday and it was a mad house because there was a long line of people waiting for passports and I couldn't tell where the passport and customer service line began. They are understaffed but not the employees fault. I do wish they would be more attentive and not talk stories when there is a long line. Also, they wait until the line is extremely long before calling for backup. read more

Worst USPS office I've ever visited in my life. They've been delivering me spam/junk mails all the time, but they lost my important insured documents. After I reported to the office about my loss, they said they would investigate and call, of course they never did. I haven't heard anything back from them.
