Ordered online. Waited until I got a notice package had been delivered on Saturday at 1pm. No package. Checked my security camera. Nope, no delivery. Filed an online complaint. Two days later my mailman shows up with the package. Can't trust anyone. read more

I would give NO star if I could. This location is convenient for me, but I will now make the trip elsewhere just to avoid the terrible customer service. I had the last straw today, since I have gone before and it wasn't too bad. I am a reasonable person and when it comes to them respecting and caring about the customer, their caring is nonexistent. You can openly hear them complaining or talking bad in the back. It's extremely rude. It is almost never a quick drop off. They won't even give you one strip of tape. If you care about being treated respectfully, it is not guaranteed here. Take your money and time to a place that doesn't hire rude people and have no compassion. read more

I had a very good experience with the La Mesa Post Office last week. I lost the mail key to my condo mailbox, and I went to the post office to apply for new keys. Someone came out to the condo mailroom the very next day, changed the lock, and gave me three new keys (yes, I did have to pay $50 for them, but that's standard). The person who helped me at the counter was very helpful and friendly. I always enjoy the friendly and professional postal service I get here in La Mesa. read more

If I could give no stars I would! Gross, gross, gross. This place is awful. I understand the postal service wants to have a lot of locations, but what's the point of having another location if the place is a dump and the customer service is non existent? I am used to your typical postal office with air conditioning and clean wide open area to wait in line with multiple windows and the usual store front look. Oh this place was like walking into a tiny wooden hut. Just a hot, dusty, dirty little box. And I don't blame the woman working the single tiny window. She looked hot, tired and completely over it. When I walked in she gave me a look like I was in the wrong spot as she tried to help the customer in front of her so I asked her "is this the right entrance?" ( I haven't been to this location before). She replies "there isn't any other way to get in here" so I say "well you looked at me like I was in the wrong place. I've never been to a post office that looked like this before" and she didn't say anything to that. I don't blame her for being just over her job, because the conditions she's working in was horrible. I didn't wait another minute. I left and went to the post office in Tierrasanta which is my favorite (on Santo Rd.) Never a line, the nicest postal workers, clean and air conditioned. So don't waste your time at this on. Im here to pick up a certified parcel that i missed for delivery. I walk in to a small dirty old elevator sized enterance/waiting room that was packed and over spilling out the doors with 7 people. Had to wait outside in the rain. 35 min wait to cycle 7 people. Two women working and one supervisor. Plus delivery people aimlessly diddling around. The lady was nice and easy to deal with. She moved as if she were under water and on her lunch break with no consideration for her clients but she was nice. I presented my delivery notice. She took it and the two ladies wandered around the PO like an anciently old maried couple poking around and speculating on where it may be. The stacks of boxes were obviously unorganized. 5-10 mins later she says I'll have my supervisor look for it. Please step aside. 20 mins later Im told they can't find it si the supervisor took a copy of my delivery slip then asked for my phone number and I watched him write it on the copied sheet of paper legibly. He said he will have to call the carrier and see if he had it and call me. Never received a phone call. I Call PO later that day and was hung up on because it was at 6:06 and a man answered. I'm assuming he realized it was after hours (06) and so he just hung up. Not before letting me explain the reason for my call though. I stated " hi, this is so and so and I'm calling exaust I was there earlier looking for my package and was told I would receive a call and I would like to know the status. " ......click. So I call back and it just rings forever. So what I gather is the staff of this post office doesn't care about their clients or their property and atleast the supervisor is a coward. Super offensive. I never was rude. In fact I've only been light and humorous so I feel pretty exhausted and offended at the moment. 10:00 this Morning I will call again and fight through the busy signals for an hour around till I reach someone hopefully and start again. read more

I have been here a few times in the past to pick up packages and no problems. Today, my package states "delivered" but is no where to be found. So I came to this Post Office to find out what happened. The lady who helped me was the most disrespectful person I have ever met. I always stay professional, explain the situation quickly, and try to be calm. She immediately began rolling her eyes, grunting, comparing it had to be me fault that I couldn't find it. She asked me three times if I saw a key in the mailbox, when after the first time I said we don't have drop boxes for that anyways. When she saw I was younger, I was disrespected the entire conversation. Or she hates all people. But I have never been dealt with more rudely. I wish I got her name so I could file a legitimate complaint. read more

A postal employee was so rude to me in the parking lot I got in my car and drove across town to another post office.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I've never gone there where the line hasn't literally been out the door and down the sidewalk. The clerk is bored and surly. The computer is often down. Last time I was there you had to have exact change or use a debit card for some unknown reason. She said the wait would be at least 15 minutes because she had "international mail" to process, so I just left. The mail person persists in leaving mail in my box for random people, people who MAY have lived there before me, but I've lived there for 4 YEARS! This despite my putting a large note INSIDE my box stating clearly that no one lives here but me! They just completely ignore that note. I was told by one worker their supervisor requires them to deliver all mail to an address even when they know the addressee doesn't live there. I have to assume it's because they don't want to be bothered actually sorting the mail, or returning/forwarding mis-sent items. Excuse me, I thought that was their job!?! It certainly isn't mine! The delivery person puts my mail in my neighbor's boxes and vice versa, regularly. Today, they left a key to a parcel box in my mailbox and when I opened it there was nothing there! What did they do with my important package, do you suppose? I've complained at the supervisor level at least 3 times, and nothing ever improves. Don't even bother to complain--and use FedEx or UPS whenever possible to protect yourself--because these people Absolutely. Don't. Care! read more

Very small post office that's convenient for dropping off packages. I take my priority mail here when it's over 13 ounces. They do have less supplies and less staff than most post offices and you have to walk up to their mail drop versus driving up to it like most post offices And they close very early so you'll be heading to Bisby Lake if you don't make it here before 4:00 P.M. This is not a full service post office and I'm not reviewing it as such. It is a convenient place to drop off pre-labeled package that are over 13 ounces or won't fit in a mail box (if it's over 13 ounces you have to drop it off in person). The USPS 13 ounce rule means you have to present it in person. And if you mail it they'll either destroy it or send it back to the sender. read more

This place is the absolute worst in customer service. I have been trying to set an appointment to get my passport for 5 days, 3 business days (this location is the only one that came up on the website for New Passport applications) , and all I got was a busy tone, every time. I finally took off work early specifically to go down there and get this done just to be told when I got there that they do not take walk-ins and passports are done by appointments only! So I then asked if I could make an appointment and the clerk told me I had to call to make an appointment. I explained to her that I have been trying to call for 5 days and haven't been able to get through. She then was annoyed at me and said " I don't know what to tell you." At this point I called the number in front of her and put it on speaker for her to hear and sure enough without fail I got a busy tone. How then am I supposed to make an appointment when I cant get through and I can't make an appointment in person. She rolled her eyes and said "I'll call a manager for you" Once the manager was there I explained the situation and all she did was take my number and say someone will call you in 1-2 business days to set your appointment. She was in no way trying to smooth over the situation, there was no apology , there was nothing. At this point I am super frustrated not only because I took off work early, I wasted a trip down there (which by the way I neither live nor work near this post office) but because this could have been explained and or avoided if anyone bothered to answered the phone. This is a government office is is not? Sooooo aggravating. I would avoid going to this location again at all cost, what a waste of time energy and personnel. read more

This Post Office is the worst ever beware! I work across the street from this place and I do not have the time to drop off an item that I wanted to return where I lived and I drop off the item during my lunch hour and unfortunately it was thrown away. I confronted one of the supervisor in their facilty and gave my tracking number so he said they really cannot do anything anymore beacuse it was the company I bought the item and it was not their fault. The post office clerk could just easily told me that I need to pay for the shipping in order to return the item and that was not the case. This is place is horrible and Chula Vista Post Office would handle it differently. I would be really be careful next time. Learn my lesson not to trust anyone at the post office!!!!!! The supervisor are not professional. I would not be able to get my refund for $67 dollars due to negligent of this lousy post office workers. I'd give lwss rhan one star if I could. Raised in La Mesa and a homeowner here for many years. Moved to retirement center for a year then home this September. Not allowed to forward mail.from there because is a business so wrote letters to banks and my insurances et al with home address as of 9/16. As of 10/10 I havent received any mail but companies have.called saying they received mail back stating I dont live here. Have called this annex once in Sept about it and a very disinterested woman laughingly said I should talk to carrier then hung up. Cant get through for hours sometimes rediling steadily for an hour. Got through today to supervisor who refused to give me his name or advise about what could be happening to my mail. He hung up o. Me after saying "How should I Know lady!?" I finally got the number from the national usps number for our local USPS Customer Affairs in San Diego. A woman there explained it to me and helped (has computer access to post offices to email them and correct problems. She was defensive of the Lake Murray supervisor who refused to help me and hung up on me but is the oniy person who has done anything. That number is (858) 674-2670. Im so worn out and helpless without my mail. The most disgruntled fast food worker is more helpful and caring than these people. Please report them to the number I gave here if you can get their name out of them. They lie and are uncaring. I hope email and Ebay and Amazon and UPS et al put them out odbusiness soon. read more
