I came here the other day to ship an item, but their printer was broken, so I couldn't complete the shipment. I came back two days later and the printer was still broken. It's frustrating to make multiple trips only to find that basic equipment isn't working. If essential services like printing and shipping can't be provided for days at a time, management needs to address the issue. Very disappointing experience. Yup, this place is pretty horrible at handling problems and resolutions... Several pieces of my mail kept getting lost, or just not delivered. I emailed them about it, even went directly into this place and point blank asked them about it. They kinda just shrugged and said, you can pay the $10/mail to have it tracked. this post office is the bomb for people w/ etsy/shopify biz, they have a window you can drop your pre paid packages off no need to wait in line, but if you do need stamps or a package questions they have the best staff, friendly & helpful! read more

Extremely slow customer service and that is just to mail off a simple envelope or to buy stamps. If you have to ship anything outside of a hallmark card, expect to wait up to 30+ minutes to complete your transaction. This is the only post office location that I have had this routine experience with, so not sure what is going on there but management needs to get it together. Pro tip - if you only have one person working in the front office, make sure they are properly trained to handle all types of transactions beyond buying stamps or mailing a card. read more

Refusing to give a copy of proof a package was delivered to a specific address as I'm trying to fight a fraud case (which even they admit is fraud) is ridiculous! So much paperwork to file and the offender is well aware of the difficult time required and hopes most people just give up! Not all the USPS is bad - but their system needs to be updated. And believe me when I say this - I worked there back in the day when the expression "going postal" was used as I was one on the insiders who testified against the USPS. I love mail and actually enjoy some trips to the post office where I get to pick out stamps and have friendly conversations with the workers, but not this one. This post office is a few minutes away from my office so I have been there a few times during the past couple years. I thought it would be a little known mini-post office with friendly personnel and that I could get in and out quickly, but it is never that way. It just is a small standing area with one window. They allow only one person inside at a time, which is fine, as there is no space to wait. Unfortunately, this is the main post office for this part of La Mesa and is just much too small. The parking lot is always crowded, it takes a while, and typically the person I speak with inside is quite short-tempered. As it is small, they usually only sell one kind of stamps. Today I had a package to mail, well, actually still have a package to mail since it didn't get done. I went there in the morning, thinking that I could get it done before work, but they don't open until 10. I went back during a break, but saw the line of people waiting outside, some with several packages. I realized I wouldn't be able to mail it and get back to work on time. Well, I suppose I will wait until after work, and go to a further away larger post office to get this done. I have learned my lesson and will avoid this place. read more

They have been stealing my mail for almost a year now (45+ pieces and counting). But, according to Roman, they are "delivering all mail," ...to themselves maybe. Spoiler alert: if it is scanned to the "next destination," or "delivered to mailbox," you ain't getting your stuff, EVER! Because they delivered it to the backseat of their own car. Great job guys getting away with all of this theft in our neighborhood. You even stole some of my outgoing mail recently, but joke is on you because you stole the outgoing mail related to the certified mail you STOLE, that needed to be sent because you stole the letter before that. They couldn't believe how bad you are, and yes they did notice and were pretty pissed that you stole a bunch of their mail to me. You can read that again if you need to, but you probably already read those letters you stole anyway, so this narrative is a little redundant for you sticky finger assholes, right? These bozos somehow had my Informed Delivery shut off intermittently for a month+ to "preserve the sanctity and security of the mail system." ie, full unadulterated, complete access to stealing my mail for a month+ without detection. I have to hand it to you, that was really creative. You probably extrapolated that I also got no mail delivery during that time, right? If so, you would be right! I hope you are all replaced with robots, sooner than later. I have really enjoyed the identity theft you have caused me you useless scumbags with all of the TONS of personal information of mine you have helped yourself to. Smallest post office I've ever been to, when you arrive to the parking lot you will notice a big sign on the door "ONE PERSON ONLY", and you thought it was because of Covid and all, but No when you get to go inside, it was actually tiny, with one service window, one mails drop off on the side and that's it. I feel bad for anyone that had a lot of packages to wait in line outside like the lady behind me, she must have gotten 10 boxes of Amazon or something packages, she had to lean against the wall cuz she couldn't hold them any longer, when I get out I did hold the door for her to lighten up her loads, man it would sucks when this gets busy. Complete disaster handling a temporary mail forwarding request because our mailboxes were vandalized. Multiple letters and packages were returned to sender instead of forwarding. And that is only the ones we know of. Who knows how much mail went missing! I use this post office for drop and go types of things. This is not a full service post office, at least when it comes to customer/mailing services. If you want a variety of stamps, or mailing supplies, or space to finalize your outgoing mail, go to the post office off of Bisby Lake, a mile up the road. This is an annex; mostly handling mail, not people. I ship a lot of Poshmark and eBay packages and they always reach their destination on time. Also, this post office was incredibly responsive to a report about graffiti on one of their boxes. My call was answered immediately. My one issue is that it seems like there is a lot of turnover when it comes to carriers and I'm sorry for those of you who have had packages go missing. 15 seems like a lot; make sure the sender is insuring their outgoing mail. That way you have a record. Or require that something be sent with with a tracking number. I would recommend this location for basic services only and you shouldn't encounter all of these issues. Also, even when Amazon or Macy's for example uses USPS, the packages are always delivered to my door. read more

This is the post office that serves my neighborhood. Whenever packages mysteriously disappear at the La Mesa facility, this is the one to blame. They are somewhere in this facility, never to be seen again. I've lost 7 in the past 6 months. I asked Amazon not to use USPS to ship my Amazon Prime packages anymore due to their ineptitude. Over the past several years this has gone on and if you call, they always claim they will look or they will pass it on. Pass it on to who, I have no idea. When I go on vacation and place my mail on hold, I do it online. It's a simple process, or so you would assume. Apparently they think you need to actually inform them when you return that you want to resume mail service. Excuse me, but wth do you think I did when I filled out the form online?! It clearly has stop and restart dates. The people that work here have an excuse for everything. The last time I was out of town for two weeks they didn't resume my service for a few days and when I called I got a lecture about how I was supposed to call them. I told him yet again that it's not the policy online and if he wants to run his location as a franchise he should build his own website. He sighed and asked me if I wanted to come pick up my mail, I said no, I want it delivered, like four days ago dude. The mail delivery service is subpar as well. I constantly get mail for people from all over my neighborhood. Sometimes they do live on my street, so kudos to them for getting that part correct. Other times I get mail for people that live as far as a mile away. Wth? Maybe get some glasses. I'm sure other people have received my mail as well and not bothered to return it to me, so thanks USPS for your crap service. Not to mention coming home to find the locked mailbox left hanging open by the mail carrier and empty. When I called, well, you guessed it: they had no idea what was going on or where the mail was! Lastly, I enjoy how they never knock on my door when delivering packages or certified mail. The packages get tossed over the gate and the notices for certified mail just go right into my mailbox. Everytime we go out of town we put a hold on our mail so the mail slot doesn't get overfull, advertising our absence. This is the office where we arrange for that and go to pick it up when we return. We have never had a problem with this. Our mail is safe and our house is safer, therefore we worry less. There is no extra charge for this service. Thank you, USPS. read more

This place should be closed down to the public. I went there to get help with problems with my post office in Grossmont center, they gave me their phone number and address, after three hours they never answered their phone. When I showed up, and gave them proof that for years two other people have been getting my mail at MY P O BOX, I was told that the manager would call. THAT NEVER happened, they had the post office that I go to call me, and after dealing with Lucy and knowing we have had this conversation before, (SHE CLAIMS I NEVER TALKED WITH HER ON THIS). Nothing got done. We keep putting money into a system that does not work and continue to work against the people using their services. They also took the mail I had that keeps coming into my box. This has been going on for over five years, and still two other people receive their mail at my expense. Plan on aimlessly standing in the parking lot, knocking on a locked door indefinitely. It took walking around the building and yelling at lackadaisical employees while an ever growing group of other customers waited in the parking lot wondering why there is no sign of life at the facility at 10:30. The excuse from the supervisor was that someone called in sick. Sounds like a you problem, figure it out; as any supervisor at any other company readily does. Another perpetually lost employee stated: "It's only 10:30." Well, that's half an hour late on a day when the place is only open for three hours. Saw no less than three employees in the building and no one could come to the door and communicate the issue. Apparently it was more important to stand in the back and mouth breath in each other's general direction. The employees at this facility are nonchalant, arrogant, ignorant, and all around lower-functioning human beings. Seems to be the only requirement to work there is the ability to maintain a pulse. I came in with my girlfriend to simply check if an important document for her student Visa that was supposed to arrive at my house had ended up back at the post office. The employee handling my inquiry, Douglas, couldn't be more apathetic. He rolled his eyes at us l and insisted the package probably was not there. We kindly asked if he could check as the document was urgent. Mind you, there were 4-5 employees present and only one person in line. I was suppose to get my package a Friday. It was a priority mail box. At 11:10 I looked up the delivery confirmation # and it said that they left a notice. It said they attempted to deliver was I was unavailable so they left a notice. 1. I had my door open the whole time waiting for my package. I had my 15 month old and 4 year here along with a nosey 4.5 year old yorkie and nobody showed up or tired to deliver. lie #1 2. They said a notice was left at my mail box. lie #2, because there was nothing. So I call USPS 1-800 # and they file a claim and then they give me the supervisors number 619-four-six-zero-4659 I got a busy signal for about 2 hours. I finally go in touch. (really two hours????) What were you doing supervisor? Anyhow, I get in touch with the supervisor Richard. I tell him my situation and told him what happened. He said I should have gotten a notice bla bla bla. And I tell him again nobody tried to deliver (my dog notifies me even when people walk by) or left a notice. He gave me an attitude. He told the address of where the mail man should be. He basically told me to go look for him??? WTF? Really Richard, as a supervisor that is what your recommended? Horrible experience. I though that by speaking with the supervisor the delivery guy would be set straight. By the look of things the worst is at the top. Richard (or are you know as Dick?) you should set the example not be it. It suck to know this is my new post office. When I get the delivery guy I will give him my piece of mind. Place a track on your package and then send a complaint to the postmaster about your post office. I am doing that with this Post Office in La Mesa. I have been having problems with them way before Covid-19. It is hurting me and my business. Besides this location being extremely small and uncomfortable the customer service here is horrible! I went in yesterday with three care packages to send my brother serving in Afghanistan. I arrived at the post office thirty minutes before 4:00PM, there was a line but no big deal, USPS offices usually have lines at the end of the day because that's when most people get off work. When my turn came around I was being helped by a Mr. Garcia, who the whole time was loudly exclaiming how everyone decides to come in at the end of the day and was making rude remarks and complaining. It seemed like he was being slow and taking his precious time on purpose making the people behind me even more anxious. I find it ridiculous that he was complaining about too many people coming in, guess I was under the impression that he was doing his JOB! And being irritated and rude to me like he was doing me a favor was flat out disrespectful! I'm sending care packages to my brother who is serving over seas during the holidays and he has no room to complain but a man at the post office is getting his panties in a bunch because he won't be able to get off work by 4PM sharp?! I explained that I had accidentally put my wrong (old address) street number as my delivery address for a package I was expecting, he told me no problem he'll have it re routed to me. Today I talked to Richard told him package was delivered to wrong address. He had Clarence go retrieve from wrong address and personally deliver to my home. You guys are the BOMB! Why the complaints?
