TBH, this place is hardly ever busy. YES! It has its moments, but for the most part... it's not crowded! The service is quick and the clerks are ON POINT! They KNOW what to do and they service fast! It is customers who may hold up the line because we may NOT know what we're doing. So they have to EXPLAIN IT TO US. Like they did with us today. And I felt so bad because it seemed like the Clerk Jesse was small kine annoyed with us because we didn't know anything. But it's NOT OUR FAULT! We haven't sent anything out thru the post office in over 10 years! Last time was when my mom WAS alive living Oregon back in 2012. ‍ Last time they had signs and cost posted up for us to see. Maybe I didn't look well but, it would help if they did display it more in the opening area. However, he WAS REALLY PATIENT AND VERY KIND because he did answer all of our questions & helped us choose what we needed. Overall tho, I'd say this place is the best place to come to for mail out things because they're QUICK & not SO BUSY. Ok that's about it. OH! But know the parking in front is kind of small. A small package was mailed out on April 22nd to interisland (Maui) and set to deliver on April 25th. It is now the 26th and tracking says it's moving through network for the past 3 days. I walked to this post office from pearlridge. I don't recommend it. It's really hot out there and I almost died. Anyway, if you can find it, it's a cool post office! It's kinda tucked away from the main road. Near the intersection of aiea bowl. Once inside, it has this really beautiful skylight design and the AC is strong. It felt so nice waiting in line; I never felt so good waiting in a PO line lol. The workers here are friendly and make small talk. It's cute. They have so many boxes out for people to take and even though there was a line, it went quickly. The guy scanned my QR code and took my box. It hasn't been scanned into the system though and it's been like 8 hours. I'm not sure how post offices work, but at the Ala Moana post office, the tracking on my packages starts only an hour or two after it's scanned. Idk why it's taking so long for this post office to start tracking my box. On my walk over, I noticed that there are quite a few hidden gems in the area. I do not recommend using this post office. I came in here with my partner and he was trying to send a package, and he didn't have tape to close the box. He asked the lady at the front desk if the post office provided tape (which most do, it's that white branded USPC tape) and she pointed to a rack without even telling him he had to buy it. He used some tape that had the USPS logo on it, and she charged him $3.99 for it! (note, my local USPS provides tape if you need.) Additionally, when we asked if she could put the label on the box (because it was being sent to the mainland, we didn't want to run the risk of it getting lost if there was some technical issue) she argued that it's not normal for people to put labels on their packages. There was a 8 minute wait but the staff here seem to be friendly and pretty efficient. They also accept passport applications here. Fill out any necessary forms prior to waiting in line. read more

This post office is a quick 5 minute drive from my home. There is always plenty of parking when I go, which is usually between 12pm and 2pm. Also, the lines are not very long. I am usually in and out of there in about 10-15 minutes. The clerks are very nice and helpful too! Not only can you handle your mail services here, you can purchase greeting cards and gift cards too. This was very convenient for me when I was thinking of sending a thank you card to someone. I purchased a thank you card, a stamp for my thank you card, and mailed it all in one location. If you need to get a new passport, this seems like the place to go. Many people come to this location to renew their passports. read more

What a gem of a Post Office is this small but full service operation nestled in Aiea on a back street off Moanaloa Road. No need to drive to the monstrous and hard to maneuver PC facility or to the airport "main" office. The Aiea PO has the same conveniences as the biggest PO on the island. I had an appointment in the Aiea shopping center but wanted to drop off my completed ballot before I went to it. So I grabbed my signed ballot and drove down the hill into the parking lot and shot my envelope into the big blue mailbox then back out of the parking lot and off to my appointment. So easy, so convenient. Before I did all my shopping online this was my go to PO for packages. They have all the Priority shipping boxes, packaging, tape.....just bring your stuff and do it there. The staff is efficient, pleasant and very helpful. I've never seen or heard of anyone there being short tempered or even curt with the customers. I thought there was a delay of a day if you're using a satellite PO but it's just as fast so why waste your gas and time when this option is available. read more

Located in the back of many busy food restaurants tucked away in a little community and the least busy post offices I've been too. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There wasn't a long line when I went on a Saturday afternoon which was great. I thought there would be a line. The lady helping me was super nice and helpful. I got the regular stamps with the flags and the flower design one. It totally probably around $25. Plenty of parking up front. No issues there but I go here since it's closer. read more

I always enjoy coming to this post office. The workers are really friendly and the lines for the most part move really quickly. There's one guy there Aaron who is always super helpful and he tries to help me save on shipping costs when I send out packages. The people who work in the back are also super friendly. I called one time to ask what time the last pick up was to go to the airport and they told me five minutes, but they actually waited for me to come drop off my package. I was really happy because it was something important to go to my parents. I'm glad that my neighborhood post office has so much aloha and will continue to come here read more

We have had our fair share of shipping experiences... used to use UPS primarily. Just in the past year, we've started using USPS 3 day priority flat rate... specifically this post office. What a huge difference in cost and reliability! We have had less "fails"... and the few we've had, have been on our end (a number off, here or there). We tend to ship packages between our family and friends on the mainland each week. Sometimes packages will arrive next day! You learn to pack better and better after enough packages arrive abused, lol, which I do not account for the post office as the ones who deliver to our area (this post office) are very considerate. The mail delivery to our neighborhood is a well-oiled wheel, for sure. They put packages in the parcel locker if it won't fit in the mailbox, then to our home if it's still too big for the locker. We haven't received mail that wasn't ours, which I have always had an issue with, anywhere else we've lived... so 5*s for USPS and this branch for giving us a great alternative to expensive brown or orange/purple options. ;) And one more plug... the 3-day flat rate program is a true gem! read more

I would've given this post office 5 stars, but took off a star due not knowing what to fill out or do for mailing out my own boxes. There I was with my knee walker rolling back and forth to figure out what forms I may need. I ended up completing forms I didn't even need. During this stressful holiday season, the sales associate, whose name I asked for was amazing! The associates don't appear to wear name tags. Anyway, Kelsey was very patient and helpful; I think I was more stressed than her. She was knowledgeable about the postal products and services. She also worked efficiently by helping me and those who came after me. I brought in my own packed boxes because I usually couldn't make a flat rate box worth it by the weight. But come to find during this visit, a flat rate box was cheaper. I first needed to complete a Priority Mail address label, which you need to get from the sales associate. During my completion of the labels, Kelsey had me go to the side of her counter, while she continued to service other customers. For one of her customers, I paid it forward by letting her borrow my scissors and tape for her box. She was about to purchase tape. Then after measuring and weighing my boxes, each box would've cost me ~$25. Other post offices I've been to probably would've screwed me over and made me pay for it. Kelsey knew I was looking for a cheap and efficient way to mail my boxes, so she suggested a flat rate box. I needed to unwrap my boxes and place the items into the two flat rate boxes, which ended up being $17.10/box. Overall, Kelsey had a positive attitude, which made my holiday mailing experience much easier. I even asked her if she was the manager for that post office and she responded, "No, I'm one of the newer ones,' which I responded, 'and nicer." I've been to other post offices, where they try to nickel and dime you and have horrible attitudes. read more

Do they do this to all or most of the people who are renting out the P.O. Box's? I truly feel invaded and exposed to all those working in the Aiea Po . The reason I rent a P.O. Box is for security and relief from thieves who steal from residential mail boxes. But dang! I honestly feel invaded of my personal space and property!!! Always easy to access my mailbox. Sometimes parking can be crowded, but I try to go at times when its not as busy.

All passport applicants but especially elderly seniors who are renewing you passport. Form DS-82 is available at the Aiea post office and the female clerk is very helpful and gave us lots of needed information. I neglected to get her name but will do when I return to mail our renewal. If a couple, just one envelope and one check plus they provide the envelope. Need assisstance in stapling your passport photo, they will assist you. In this day and age of "you don't ask, they won't tell", seniors and elderly seniors are left to fend for themselves. Remember the form has to be "letter perfect" which means no mistakes, no exceptions. You make an error, you need to fill out a new form. You also need to renew your passport before it expires and some countries will not let us in unless you have at least 6 months left before expiration date. Every day is a challenge for kupuna and despite what you hear, very little is done to make our lives pono. read more

Limited parking stalls, though it's just a walking distance from home so I don't worry. The line gets long sometimes that it's already forming on the street. Sometimes I don't know whether there's going to be a long or short line inside. When there's a long line, it takes a while for the workers to get through a customer. When I'm impatient I don't like it when they start talking story. Yes it's nice for customer relations but I want to get my things over the counter, paid for and me out the door. The workers are helpful when I needed to ship internationally or need to select a better package for the items I plan on sending. Some of them are friendly. read more

Wow! The help and customer service I received today from Aaron was impeccable! I was returning 2 pairs of shoes. I put them in a big box, which i didn't know shipping would cost soo much even if the box was light. They measure by size. I would have paid $57 for shipping but end up paying $27. Had my mail held while on a trip. when I went in to retrieve the mail, I was told that they couldnʻt find it. My mail carrier told me that the mail had been dropped off the day before I went in. Went back a couple of days later, told the same thing by the same postal worker who basically raised her hands up in the air and said, "I donʻt know what to do." Didnʻt try calling the Pearl City location (where our mail originates from), didnʻt try looking around in another area...just threw her hands up in the air and basically told me I was on my own...that I should try going to Pearl City. Of course, Pearl City tells me that the mail should be at Aiea. Four days after my initial visit, I get a call from a worker telling me that they had found my mail, that it had been misplaced. Understood. That happens. What I found infuriating was that the postal worker didnʻt feel the need to try. Not going back there again. read more

The line here is always long, due to only having two or less workers at the counter (especially on a Saturday). Waited for like 15-20 minutes in line. I was extremely surprised with Aiea post office. I have always depended on the love of my life Aimee H to handle all Christmas shopping and mailing of Christmas presents for our friends and family,so I have never had to deal with the bulk of it, or the craziness of the holidays.This year I chose to do things differently and live life to the beat of a different drum , with that being said, I must say I was very impressed with the staff at Aiea post office, I apologize but I do not remember the name of the women employee who helped me this past Saturday .The line was out the door towards the P.O. Boxes,I would say at least 15 people deep. I was very impressed with the patients and the speed of the employees there. I was in line for only 25 min and I was in and out , there have been changes and restrictions on what can be mailed and what the ETA will be for your parcels , but all In all I left there very satisfied and a lot more knowledgeable, I will certainly return to this post office again, and recommend it to my family and friends read more

I never write Yelp reviews, but today I was so disappointed and turned off by this USPS location. Aaron, the worker at the counter is extremely unprofessional and condescending. For a couple of reasons: 1. While waiting in line, there was a younger gentleman being serviced at the counter by Aaron. My assumption is that the man did not send/mail things often because he came to mail a box that was not in a flat rate box, but in a recycled cardboard box and he accidentally wrote the return address and the mailing address in the opposite areas. (Honestly I would of probably made the same mistake too if I didn't mail things often). So Aaron proceeded to speak extremely loud, so loud that it echoed in the place and very slowly as if the gentleman wouldn't be able to comprehend what he was saying. "JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU MAIL THINGS YOU NEED TO PUT THE ADDRESS HERE - NOT HERE. AGAIN, HEEERE NOT HEEEERE. AND ALSO, DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE FLAT RATE BOX IS?! SO JUST TO LET YOU KNOOOOW YOURE PROBABLY GOING TO PAY MORE IF YOU MAIL IT IN THIS." I understand that Aaron was probably just trying to inform/help the man, but he did not need to put him on blast in front of the other people waiting in line, nor did he need to talk to him in such a condescending manner - as if he wouldn't understand what he was saying. 2. After the gentleman Aaron serviced, my mom and I were next in line. We came to send a flat rate box that was prepaid, and pick up a sheet of the new Chinese New Year stamps. While we thought was going to be a quick, no hassle experience - it was the complete opposite with Aaron. Our flat rate box was a little stuffed, but not to the point where it looked unusual to mail. When my mom placed the box on the counter, she asked him if the new stamps were in stock. Aaron completely disregarded her question, and proceeded to speak to her like he did to the gentleman before us, in a condescending manner, loudly - literally so loud that people at the back of the line could hear. "WELL, WAIT THATS NOT MY CONCERN RIGHT NOW. BUT JUST TO LET YOU KNOWWWW, YOUR BOX FLAP IS A QUARTER INCH ABOVE THE BOX. SO JUST TO LET YOU KNOWWW YOU MIGHT GET CHARGED FOR THAT." While I appreciate that Aaron was just "LETTING US KNOwWwW", I've mailed boxes that were way more stuffed prior to the box we brought to mail today, and there was no problem or extra charges for it. Again, I understand that he was just "doing his job", but personally i felt that Aaron's level of professionalism and customer service was unacceptable. With the recent news of the USPS possibly losing it's funding, I would think that employees - like Aaron, would uphold their standards and give the best customer service possible to keep business going. The GF and I are planning a trip to Thailand in December and we needed passports to get the ball rolling. After some Google searches and several phone calls, I found out that most post offices handle the processing of passports and even take the pic needed for it for $7...pricey...I know. The man holding our hand through the process the day we went in was a fill-in from the Camp Smith Post Office...although he wasn't in familiar territory, he was quick with the paperwork and worked at a pace that would put most teppan chefs to shame. The total for each passport, including picture, was about $120...pricey...I know. At least I won't have to get another one for the next 10 years, so that's only $12 to travel anywhere in the world per year!! WHAT A DEAL!! 2.22.13 I have a love/hate relationship with this Post Office! First, the hours; if you have to send or pick up a package who finishes work before 4:00 pm?! I know, I know the PO workers have lives too, but still... Second, it's always busy here and then parking is bleh. If there are no stalls available you have to awkwardly wait and back up traffic in the lot and on the roadway...I've had to park in the Price Busters area and run over but watch out I think you can get towed for doing that so make it quick! Third, while most of the staff is great--the manager/head lady is really nice; there's also a super talkative (Greek?) man who's really personable and helpful and then there's this really sweet lady named Leann?, she always has a smile on her face--there is one major Debbie Downer. She's the WORST! Very, very unapproachable, she talks as if she's above you and she acts like she hates her job--she totally ruins my experiences here. If you're trying to get a P.O. Box and you get her for help, good luck. I can't believe I forgot her name, but I'll update this later! Ok so those were mostly hates...but I do appreciate what the people here do for us! It was a short visit here. I came around lunch time on a Friday and was surprised that the lot wasn't busy at all, not even a line when I stepped inside. They seemed to remember their regulars by name which I thought was nice. I had to apply for my passport so the process seemed extremely simple.. if you made sure ahead of time that you have all the correct documents. The lady that was helping me was kinda snotty in the beginning and made a big fuss that the paper I photocopied my ID was printed on was too long -_- seriously nothing a pair of scissors couldn't fix. read more
