Didn't make eye contact like at all, was not helpful when asked about sweetness level, and after I got my coffee I asked for a lid and the rude female just said, "behind you" in the most aggressive tone ever. We just moved from LA to Seattle and were looking for a new coffee spot to frequent. In LA, we were daily drinkers of Maru Coffee - the cream top, specifically. When we mentioned we were moving, Maru Coffee owner Joonmo recommended URL coffee to us. Besides carrying Maru beans, URL coffee also does their own spin on the Cream Top - the walk to work. It's delicious, creamy, and more of a latte than an Americano. Happy to report, their cream is spot on! One of the first coffee shops I tried after moving to Redmond from SoCal, I was excited to check out this place after hearing such good things about it. However, I was a bit disappointed with their signature "Walk to Work." It wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out either. I prefer sweeter coffee, and this one still tasted too sweet for me, more like dessert, which wasn't what I expected from a "walk to work" option. The price of the coffee is average--not great, but definitely not bad. The service was good, and I love the simple, modern, minimalistic decor. There was plenty of seating available, so that wasn't an issue for my boyfriend and me. While I didn't plan to work there, I noticed several people doing so, and there seem to be plenty of outlets for that. Parking can be a bit tricky, as there's only street parking nearby. Overall, I'd give this place a solid 3 stars. I've had much better coffee elsewhere, and I don't think this shop represents the Seattle coffee scene as many might expect, at least from what I expected. That being said, it is still a good cafe, I just had higher hopes for it. If you're in the area, give it a try and rate it yourself. If you're not, I wouldn't go out of my way for it. While I haven't explored many coffee shops in Seattle yet, I do enjoy Amore and Five Stones in Redmond/Bellevue! read more

I was staying in First Hill and stumbled upon this coffee shop. Seems to be Korean-owned! Cute little place with a bit of seating to do work. I tried out their signature drink - the "Walk to Work", which is an iced latte with cream on top. URL is my favorite cafe in first hill, and I recommend it to all of my friends! It's a very aesthetic and chill vibe, I especially love the rice paper lanterns because it makes everything so cozy!! My favorite go-to order is the matcha latte, the flavor is rich and perfect, definitely not the grassy matcha you can sometimes get. Also the owners here are so very kind, I came in with a friend when they were closing, and they let us know that without making us feel rushed in any way. Every time I pass by, the cafe is filled with people, and it's a good mix of friends catching up or people studying and trying to get work done. While there's not a ton of seating, people can sit along the window, around the main long table, or little tables in the back. I loved Vienna Einspanner/Korean Einspanner when I visited cafes in Korea. It was so hard to find a coffee shop that served the drink on the menu in the States - I only know of one spot in Japantown, San Francisco - but the 'walk to work' at this shop hits very close to home! I really enjoyed it! I'm so glad it's located close to where I live. I think it's a good combination of sweet and creamy coffee where you can drink a bit of the cream with the straw and then move to the milk and espresso layer. Great environment for studying too! I was in the area as my husband was having surgery down the street. Came in to get a light breakfast and some coffee. The place was busy but I found a little corner to sit in while I waited. Be patient as it can take some time to get your drink but it is worth the wait. Ordered the spinach and cheese brioche bun which was very tasty. But what I'm going to be craving every day going forward is their Walk to Work drink...an iced latte with their homemade sweet cream foam. Plus I added their homemade hazelnut sauce because WHY NOT! The drink was incredible with good coffee flavor, not overly sweet, and I'm assuming the sweet cream foam helped give it an airy texture. I inhaled my drink and immediately ordered a 2nd one to go so I can savor it more. The crew working that morning were very nice and friendly which was a bonus. I've here on two different weekdays, once to sit and work and the other time to get a drink to-go. I was easily able to get a spot at the communal table both times., although the smaller tables had already been claimed. I have tried the famous "Walk to Work" with almond milk (note that the foam does contain dairy) and their iced matcha latte. The Walk to Work was a bit on the sweeter side, almost like a light coffee dessert; tasty, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get this again. The matcha was also nothing special. I do wish they had more options for alternative milks. Four stars for the tasteful interior--there are even current magazines for anyone to peruse--and friendly, quick service. I'd say I have pretty high standards for good coffee because I live in LA and have so many great spots around me that don't have a drive-thru or aren't inside a Target. So when we're out of town, we try really hard to find the best low-key places for a good cup of coffee. URL was super close to our hotel in downtown Seattle and, to our delight and surprise, they brew beans from our favorite LA coffee house. We found ourselves here every day during our stay because we never want to take chances on bad coffee once we've already found a spot we love. The Walk to Work is a must-try! And make sure you grab a breakfast sandwich. It looks so unassuming, but it's perfection.
