I really love this place! There are plenty of healthy choices and as a vegetarian, I always appreciate meals that are meatless. I gave it 4 stars because starting 2019 they got rid of their soba noddle bowl which was absolutely Devine, and there is no comparable replacement. Ever since that bad experience with that extremely rude manager, the situation was remedied and I have received nothing but exemplary food and service going forward. The food is extremely fresh. The salad dressing on the simple salad is really tasty. As a matter of fact, I wish it was available for purchase. I remember a while ago I tried Urban Cafe that was at the West Covina Mall. It was a busy day so I just picked the first thing that I saw at the food court because I was too hungry and too short on time to choose. It was the first stand I saw amoung many lines up and thankfully the one with the less people in line. I picked what the cashier recommend and remember seeing a oven as I paid her to wait. I can't tell you what I got from there because all I remember was just feeling extremely happy and blissful for those 20 minutes as I sat there to enjoy this meal. I picked a place out if convince and got way more than I bargained for that I doubled my tip and thanked her for giving me that experience and ran off to work. I've completely forgotten the name of the place and have been searching for a long time for a sandwich that was comparable to theirs. Then lo and behold I find this place during the pandemic. I'm a local Pasadenian so I'm pretty familiar with all the restaurants that are here. Kind of similar to the first experience that I had, I was on my lunch break and I only had an hour to order, drive, and pick up my food and to bring it back home so I can finish up some paperwork for a project I was doing. When I bit into their chicken pesto and dried tomato sandwich I immediately knew that this was the place that I was looking for such a long time. Their bread is so soft and warm and the ingredients inside are so fresh, that it makes you almost feel unashamed for devouring the whole thing so quickly. And just to make things feel just a little bit easier on your conscience, they provide you a nice salad with tangerine slices with an oil vinaigrette mix on the side. So if you're looking for a place that has fresh ingredients and the satisfaction of filling your stomach without making you feel self-conscious about what you're consuming, I suggest going here. read more

First time visiting. And not coming back. Just not a fan of their food. The restaurant was clean inside. But their salad is like school cafeteria type. They won't toss your salad. It's just dry veggie and a side of dressing. Compared to Mendocino, Urban Plate and Tender Green, their food is just not their level and not worth for the money you pay. It makes sense why the place was so empty during lunch time while Mendocino & Urban Plate were filled with people who were lining up. I trusted the Yelp review but then this was a fail for me. _ My boyfriend and I have been on the hunt for finding vegan spots to go to well mainly searching for places with a great salad selection . Driving around yesterday I made a yelp account for the first time after having a horrible experience at Panera then i randomly found this spot later that night and it completely turned our crappy day around . Walking in it seems so hipster modern but super clean which is a huge plus with me . Nice clean front of house means there's definitely a nice and clean back of house as well . The menu was easy to read really big on a wall I love that . We went in maybe an hour before closing time I felt a bit bad we were cutting it a bit close due to the fact that I've always worked in customer service/ restaurants and there was only one other customer inside but the staff was friendly did not give us dirty looks nor rush us in any way . We got a buzzer after placer our order which was cool because that means if it's busy there's a very low chance of getting the wrong order . Salads were up fast, plate presentation awesome I'm a sucker for a beautiful looking plate . What I was surprised and excited about though when my boyfriend got our salads was that the dressing came on the side for one THANK GOODNESS! I like applying my own dressing if I like it I just have so many allergies I normally use hot sauce like tapatio as my dressing which they did not have but they did have Cholula , siracha and a third bottle hot sauce any place that carries hot sauce bottles is another huge plus for me! And they were all pretty full bottles woah! The third thing that surprised me and excited me was the fact that the salad came with a triangular piece of bread... which honestly was THE MOST AMAZING piece of bread I've ever had the taste was so intriguing I couldn't get enough I stole my boyfriends piece too and ate it on the car ride home even though I was stuffed! Lol so back to the salad everything in it tasted so fresh this is the second best salad I've had it was a great size portion I'm shocked I finished the whole thing I can't ever finish a meal but this salads taste quality and everything was just so on point that I gobbled it all up every bite was so savory and flavorful! Wow wow wow, I'm so happy they opened an Urbane Cafe here. I've been a fan of Urbane when I use to live out in the valley so when they opened one here in Pasadena I was ecstatic! Urbane never disappoints & this location is particularly my favorite. We've been here a few times already since they opened & the staff is so friendly and welcoming each time. Everyone looks and seems so happy to help you navigate the menu or make recommendations or simply just have a smile on their face, which is so refreshing! One time we got lucky and they were walking around sampling their cookies which are amazing. Food: the deliciousness really is in the details! You can't go wrong with their menu. I've had some salads, sandwiches and all are so flavorful. My sandwich recommendations are the Peruvian and the Moroccan, my favs so far! Great healthy food, taste delicious and at reasonable prices! Nice place for a good healthy feeling meal. The bread is really good! Needed to show self control. Had the grain and chicken ( forget the name) Bowl . It was good. Liked that they had siracha and other hot sauces to add spiciness to taste. The lemonades are really sweet, watered it down with carbonated water, had the watermelon lemonade and it was good. I love that they just charge you for a drink then you can choose between craft sodas, lemonades and teas. Very flavorful and delicious options but more than anything the best service. Today was my first time I order the steak sandwich but was too spicy (fire coming of my mouth) delicious but too spicy. I went back to the line to order something else and I ask the cashier to recommend something with no spicy she suggested the pesto chicken. It was absolutely delicious I told her what happened with the spicy sandwich and she didn't charge me for the second sandwich even though I advised her I will take it for my husband since he loves the sandwich.
