Sunrise Burger
Autumn M.

There's no shortage of tempting choices on the menu here. The burger section alone features 10 options, making it the perfect spot to satisfy a burger craving. We went with the Sunrise and the PubChz. I'm a sucker for a runny yolk, so I couldn't resist the one topped with a Yo-Egg. The PucChz was deliciously messy in its own way. Both of these Beyond Burgers were next level. You can also order smoothies, bowls, wraps, fries, tots, soups, salads, tacos...this menu is huge! Prices are reasonable for a vegan place. And there's a large amount of seating inside. With so many options left, a return visit is a must!

06/01/25. Kimchi "Steak" Bowl.
Jasmine A.

Stopped by on Sunday, 06/01/25. I got the kimchi steak bowl which was $14.95 (redeemed by birthday reward so got it for free). The bowl was so tasty and filled me up (I only ate half). Literally tastes like steak! The kimchi taste was extremely strong which I admired a lot.

Caesar Crunch Wrap

Ordered online and my food was ready right when I arrived, which was super convenient. I decided to dine in--there's plenty of seating inside and a few tables outside too. The space was very clean, and the staff greeted me right away. I got the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap with dressing on the side. The chicken was warm and crispy, and the almond parmesan added a nice twist. Only downside was the uneven filling--half of the wrap like 80% of the chicken while the other barely had any. I've tried several other items here in the past and the food has always been consistent. Parking can be tough during peak hours, but they do have a parking lot. Overall, reliable spot for a quick plant-based meal.

Green smoothie
Robin R.

The server was pretty rude very short just asked me what I want and walked away paid about 16 something for a smoothie just to have very rude service no thank you for coming, nothing. I'm not understanding what the hostility is about and why she was so upset even as she handed me my drink, she said absolutely nothing. It's a shame I would come here more often, but the service just makes everything the whole experience, very awkward and unwelcoming.

Buffalo wings (yes it's vegetarian and so delicious)!!
Faye A.

Grabbed a quick lunch to-go after work for the far drive home. I could not find this place because the sign was covered by tree leaves. Please cut the leaves around the sign so it's easier to find!!! I'm not a vegetarian anymore but once in a while I crave it, and considering all the delicious food I've consumed this week in this area, Veggie Grill was very appropriate! I got the Buffalo wings and strawberry lemonade. The Buffalo wings have changed since the last I've had them. Still good, but i noticed the change. The strawberry lemonade is still ever so good!! You can taste the strawberry more than the lemon and I love that! I've always loved the Veggie Grill brand because it's so close to the real thing! They have really good food and I still enjoyed it!

Child's vegan burger with mango
Lori R.

My Vegan relatives wanted to come here for dinner as they knew it would make all three of them happy. My first time..Fast food like. Order at counter. They were all pretty happy with their vegan burgers. I was disappointed in the Crispy tempura cauliflower that I ordered. Batter was way thicker than a normal tempura. Not crispy. And there was raw batter under the coating. The orange dipping sauce on side was good. .

Vegan Tostada

This was the best tostada I've ever had! Perfection. Making us vegans very proud! Thank you so much!

Veggie grill is never a disappoint !! It's always so fresh and delicious! I love that they keep changing up the menu so their is always something new to try when you visit . Service is great Food is amazing Reasonable prices

New Sesame Tofu Supergreens Salad, very good.
Christina C.

The service is friendly and the restrooms are clean. The salads tend to be pretty good, especially the dressings. The new tofu salad was super delicious. The truffle mac n' cheese was a bit bland, but the toppings were tasty. Veggie Grill girl was filming a video on the patio next to us and they were pretty obnoxious, but we still enjoyed our meal. Mostly paid street parking and a lot behind the restaurant.

Belgian Chocolate Cake
William B.

The saint patricks cake is so bad. It tastes like metal. I asked the cashier if i can get the carrot cake instead and she said no. Not nice service. The cakes are the same price.

The drumsticks were the main item I visited for and they were good; however, they were on dowels vs. sugar cane... just a different vibe, not a deal breaker. Two issues with my visit here: 1. asked for a sweet chili sauce, but it has no chili in it, just a sugary sauce AND when I got my bill I was charged extra for the sauce but no mention of this when I ordered it. I have no issue paying for extra sauces 1. If the sauce is worth a hoot and 2. Awareness that I'm paying for it. Prices are a little high for the quality of food. The parking lot is a little undersized for the amount of businesses in the little strip mall area. One MAJOR complaint and issue 2. They claim the restroom is out of order (which I saw on previous reviewers posts, which was over 1 month ago)... idk how a business can operate without a restroom for customers. I get emergency situations, but how have they gone this long without a working restroom for customers? To make this situation even worse, it doesn't appear they have any neighboring businesses to partner with on this issue because if you need the restroom they tell you to go across the street to Trader Joe's. Next time I'm in the area, I'll just grab something from TJ's to eat and not worry about dining at My Vegan.

If I recall correctly, he said that the strawberry cake ball, coffee cake, and a few others were popular picks. There is only outdoor sidewalk seating (a total of 3 small tables with 2 seats each). It's very transit-accessible. It's a 5 minute walk from the A line Del Mar station. death by chocolate cookie ($3.85) - It's just a typical double chocolate cookie! It's a little gritty and dry (maybe it's gluten free?) but still delicious nonetheless. coffee cake ($5.88) - sweet, with a flavor of cinnamon (not in an overpowering way). If you enjoy coffee cake, definitely get this, as vegan coffee cake is a rarity in Pasadena and LA. ice cream sandwich ($9.25) - honestly, i think this was a little too sweet for me. The ice cream itself was plain vanilla soft serve, but when sandwiched by two entire chocolate chip cookies, I think the sweetness can be overpowering. Keep in mind that it also melts very fast (since it has the consistency of soft serve) and this makes it hard to keep the whole sandwich in shape. If you do not plan to eat it right away, I would not recommend getting this as it'll melt in a mere minute.

We didn't question it and started eating. Midway through our meal, the manager came over and said it was actually a mistake - that the cucumbers were a paid item. He gave us two options: keep eating and get charged, or have it taken away and not be charged. At that point, we had already eaten about half. Of course, we declined the extra charge since we genuinely thought it came with our order. What happened next is what lost me as a customer. The manager took the dish and immediately dumped it in the trash right behind me, where I could hear it. It felt unnecessary and honestly a bit disrespectful. A better way to handle it would've been to acknowledge the mistake and just comp the dish this time. Instead, it turned into an awkward moment over what couldn't have been more than a few dollars' worth of cucumbers. Not a great experience, and not a place I'd return to based on how this was handled.

The portions looked relatively small, but filled us up perfectly. We were a party of three but only ordered two entrée since we weren't that hungry. The fried rice was not too salty and was very well balanced, and the cucumbers added an amazing freshness. The pad Thai had a strong acidity to it, but we enjoyed the crispy pork belly it came with. Both of the entrées were not too oily or greasy. The rest of their menu looked amazing and I hope to be back to try it soon. They also have Thai tea which I am a sucker for, so I'll definitely be back to try that too. Overall, I'd recommend this place for some delicious, casual Thai food and good vibes.

It's literally the one dish I always order at any Thai restaurant, so my standards is kinda up there. But also... this was in the middle of the desert at a music festival so ngl I didn't have high hopes lol. But their Spicy Shrimp Pad Thai was so good!! The flavor was super authentic, spicy, tangy, just hitting all the right notes. The noodles had that perfect chewiness, not clumped together so they know exactly what they doing with their food! It's the perfect shareable meal and worth every single penny. It's been a minute since I wrote a review, but these guys deserve the love. The photos I snapped don't do the chicken, salad, or any of the fixings justice, but trust me: if you're hunting for some of the best herb-roasted chicken in town, Kismet is a must-try. The name fits the vibe perfectly--meant to be. I'm picky about rotisserie/herb-roasted chicken and always benchmark against heavy hitters: Mi Piace's Prezzemolo (still my all-time favorite), the long-gone Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken from Cheesecake Factory's heyday, and more recently, Verde in Costa Mesa's killer Lemon & Sumac half chicken (easily top 3). Kismet's half chicken holds its own in that elite group. It's juicy, tender, and packed with bright Mediterranean flavor--a healthier, more refined take on the classic Zankou Chicken style I've loved forever. What pushes it over the edge for me is the quality: free-range, non-GMO, antibiotic-free, air-chilled, and raised right here in California. Bottom line: Kismet belongs on any serious "greatest herb-roasted chicken" list (at least mine). If you haven't tried it yet, go fix that. Highly recommend.

I had 2 other experiences prior to this where the chicken seemed off but I kept trusting it would be as good as it when I first had Kismet when it first opened back in March 2025. On May 7th, 2026 at 3:30 PM I ordered for pickup my usual meat and potatoes plate. Weirdly, the order was ready for pickup in a couple of minutes when usually it would be ready in 10 minutes which would have been less sketchy. I should have trusted my instincts. I walked in to pick up my order and there were zero customers around, usually there are a few customers eating at the tables. Sign that the quality has dwindled and the regulars aren't retuning. I get back home to treat myself (I spent $28 for the meal plus a drink.) Much to my dismay I opened the plate and was so disappointed. It was half of what normally comes in the box but the potatoes were stacked high and of course extremely oily. I was like ok let's just eat this because I don't have more time to find another place to get food plus I've already splurged. The chicken was undercooked and rubbery and came with no chicken breast like it normally does just some boney legs. Since I was so hungry and paid the extra money for "light" chicken I still ate it. I'm sick now, the night of May 8th I'm still on the toilet. Save your money and go to Zankou if you want good rotisserie chicken they've been doing it right in LA since the 80s. Or Costco; 5$ chicken unless you want a $32 dollar chicken here to make you and your family sick and poor.

My coworker and I went all in on the birria lineup, because the whole office was talking about birria so we grabbed the Birria Papas (w added guacamole) and Birria Tacos. The papas came out swinging: legit hand-cut fries piled high like they had something to prove. Messy, loaded, and worth every napkin. The tacos were a little on the petite side, like "did I accidentally order the sample version?" but still tasty enough to keep me from complaining too loudly. Now let's talk about the secret hot sauce. First of all, why is it secret?!?!? 2nd of all, I get it. That stuff is not playing around. One bite and my mouth was on fire!!! If you like heat that punches back, this is your moment!! The spot itself is super clean, the staff is genuinely nice (not the fake "have a nice day" nice), and everything just felt easy and welcoming. Lots of seating, lots of parking( lot in the back). From the design and thought put into the decor, menu and all the other options (like candy, liquor, beer and wine) you get, it's pretty amazing. We ordered a plethora of items to see what would be our favorite. I gotta say it was pretty much everything. Super polite staff and the flavors of the food made you feel good. You're truly in for a treat. Asada burrito super bomb, great flavor decent size and for the price it's great. See I like to eat(like you!) so I wouldn't have minded if it was tad bit bigger and tad bit heavier. But flavor was super delicious. Crunchy potato tacos, like finger food, once I saw someone else's tacos I was like uh oh I'm gonna need a lot more tacos. Except we stuck to ordering a few items to just see how it goes. And yeah, like I said tacos are SMALL. Like baby size. Not normal if you ask me but to each their own I guess. Birria cup lacked meat, but the flavor was amazing, you get 3 baby sized corn tortillas and that's pretty much it. You would expect more meat but after looking at the taco sizes yeah. You ain't getting anymore! So order more! Asada fries as well, portion wise could have been more giving. Loved the house made fries, great touch. Or atleast I am assuming they are house made, tasted very fresh cut if you know what I mean. Except the portion is tiny, like everything else. So if anyone is understanding my lingo is that Madre Maiz doesn't really put out large portions, which makes you want to order more and spend more. Then again they have their flavor to compensate for the quantity? Last can't leave out the guacamole, fresh and delicious with the bag of chips. Now that food portion has been expressed, let's talk about the meat being slightly on the dryer side. Soft but definitely dryer than majority of the taquerias I have been too. The asada 100% was dry and lacked any form of juiciness. Flavor was there but just dry. 100% needed sauce. The red sauce was chipotle based, the orange was habanero, and the green was cilantro/maybe avocado based(no heat in the green). Every bit of sauce helped every bite. Was it worth trying and reviewing? Yes. Will I ever go back? 100% cause that burrito was pretty good. For 12-13 bucks it's not bad at all, might need two. Beautiful decor, and plenty of seating outside and limited on the inside.
