I ordered a #1 Thit Ngoui and #2 Cha Lua with a Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Both the sandwiches were decent, the meats are fairly sparse for cold cuts, in my opinion. However, the bread is good and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. Soy sauce is an interesting touch. The Vietnamese Iced coffee was rich and sweet. I prefer a bit more bitter, but on par. This is, without a doubt, the worst Lee's Sandwiches I have ever visited. My appeal to Lee's is the promise of a superior bánh mì, specifically the freshly baked bread. While the bread may have technically been baked that day, the quality was severely lacking. The flavor was noticeably off, suggesting a recipe or process that is distinctly different--and inferior--to their other locations. The foundation of a great bánh mì was compromised. The issues didn't stop with the bread. The BBQ pork filling was surprisingly dry, contributing to an overall uninspired sandwich experience. I should have taken a clue from the unusual offerings: the presence of lottery tickets and a wide array of non-Vietnamese foods signaled that this location was not prioritizing its core product. Given the heavy foot traffic and surrounding businesses, this location has incredible potential. It's truly a shame they aren't capitalizing on it. A significant improvement in the freshness and flavor of their food would undoubtedly attract a much larger, more satisfied customer base. They have a website you can order from but they charge processing fee (+$1-2), I suggest you walk in and order so you don't waste the extra money. The restaurant was very clean and they even had a large air conditioning/fan at the back of the restaurant so it was very cool inside. The sandwiches (barbecue pork and special) were very delicious. The baguette is very crispy and the meat is tasty, not too salty! The croissants were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My mom got an iced coffee and I got an avocado smoothie and they were very refreshing since it was over 90 degrees outside! 2025-04-15 Update Was walking around on Colorado and poked my head in and noticed everything inside has changed and different folks working inside. Also noticed a steady stream of people picking up sandwiches. Decided to give this location another chance after a really bad experience 11 years ago. Ordered two specials and a milk tea with boba. To my pleasant surprise, the sandwiches were decent as was the milk tea. I guess they are restored my faith and may come back again. Have come to this Lee's sandwich location a couple of times now. Each visit was similar to the previous the staff is extremely welcoming and the service was great. The ambiance is how one would expect from a sandwich shop. I ordered the sandwich special and it was quite tasty. Growing up Lee's sandwich wasn't my favorite but this location seems to put those childhood doubt to rest. It could be how welcoming the staff are or maybe the sandwiches are made better here than other locations. All I know is I have enjoyed each sandwich that I have had at this location. Being a (so)cal native, I've seen them everywhere growing up but I've honestly never been. After living next to this location for about 10 years now, I was craving a banh mi, (to be honest I've only ever gotten them from BMCC by pcc) so I decided to try it, especially since the "fresh hot baguette" sign was on. And I'm so glad I did!! The baguette was indeed fresh, the veggies were abundant (I love a more veggie to meat ratio), and it tasted to fresh. Having a soft, warm baguette is crucial for a perfect banh mi imo and that's where bmcc falls behind. I came here with a few coworkers to grab a quick lunch. They have never been to a Lee's Sandwiches so it was indeed an interesting new place for them. I got my usual which is a pork roll baguette sandwich and large Vietnamese iced coffee. Sandwich was very good, but I thought the baguette was a tad thin and short. Coffee was hands down smooth and just divine... love my Lee's coffee... no one compares to them! LOL This is my second time here and I took notice on the menu. Instead of the baguette, you can get your meats and veggies on a croissant. They call it the European sandwiches versus Asian sandwiches... there is a price difference between croissant and baguette. What I found very useful was the highlighting from one sandwich to the next sandwich and they have pictures to show along with the highlight. That's so cool! Staff was really nice. Ambiance was nice. Walked in order a sandwich to go. Then an ice coffee in a bottle. The cashier packed the ice coffee bottle in a plastic bag. After I walked back to office only to find out the bottle of ice coffee is completely frozen in solid ice. I have to walked back to the shop. The cashier acted surprise not because of the coffee is frozen. She acted surprise why would I bring it back as that's what ice coffee is like. She defended by holding a plastic cup with ungrounded coffee bean telling me if I want to drink coffee as in liquid form I need to order the coffee bean in a plastic cup for $6.99. if she just said sorry and replace the bottle I would be happy and leave.
