I've been here a couple times for take out and it's a solid new restaurant for lunch or dinner. The first time I had the turkey cranberry brie sandwich. It was really good, definitely ooey and goey from the cheese and aioli so if you don't like sauce, get the aioli on the side. It also came with a tiny side salad. On my most recent trip, I had a lemon cookie and chicken mediterranean 5 grain bowl. The cookie was warm a fresh, a must try and great way to end a meal. The grain bowl was also hearty. I loved how it had a little of everything (arugula, pickled beets, spiced chicken, avocado, beans, etc.). The place was also spotless and service was always excellent. Anyway, I had a lady come up and greet me and apologize for the inconvenience. She gave me some info about the company and told me to come in on Friday for a free meal. This is one of my very favorite lunch spots and I find myself stopping here at least once a week, really whenever I'm in the area. Food is fresh, consistent, customizable, and yummy. Employees are friendly and helpful. They never balk at my requests to omit or add ingredients to my order. A special mention goes to their chicken. I usually find chicken pretty boring and bland so I don't eat it a lot, but this is the exception. It tastes great and is always well cooked and well seasoned. Perfect addition to the protein salad (my go-to) or seasonal salad (also great). Portion sizes are good and fill you up without being excessive. I'm so glad this place popped up on Lake. This was in Hot and New on Yelp so my friend and I decided to check it out! It's very nice in here perfect for catching up with an old friend! It's also great for grab and go. They have many salad, sandwich and bowl options. Everything comes with a little salad too! I don't remember what I got, but it's the first sandwich in the list. The salad was light, and made with spring greens and some mandarin oranges. The steak in my sandwich was soft, tender and flavorful. The focaccia bread the sandwich came on was fluffy and so good! They make all their bread in-house and bake it fresh daily. They also have several varieties of flavored lemonade to pick from. I got the watermelon lemonade and it was so refreshing! They also bake fresh cookies on site, too. I tried the cranberry cookie as well as their chocolate cookie, and both were soft, chewy and so tasty! My husband really enjoyed his turkey sandwich, too. Was really craving a sandwich today and decided to try a new place. I was so excited to see the many great reviews but sadly I'm very disappointed! Got their Chimichurri steak sandwich, and the meat was soggy and flavorless! Not sure if it was supposed to be a hot sandwich or a cold one but it was just a room temp bore. I ordered the cobb salad and my wife ordered the So Cal. Both were delicious and the bread was warm. What set this experience apart was the quality of service. The gentleman who took our order, Jad, was patient when we were deciding what to order. And after we sat down to eat, he came to check on us. Also, when we finished, he promptly came by, asked how the food was and cleaned up our dishes. And if that was not enough, as we were leaving, he was cleaning up the patio, saw us leaving and was nice enough to go over to open the door for us. First time at Urbane Cafe in Pasadena and I'm pleasantly surprised! It was a perfect spot for my friend and I to grab lunch! For a Saturday at noon it wasn't overly crowded so we were able to find seating fast! I ordered the cranberry Brie turkey sandwich and a drink (which I chose watermelon mint lemonade). The sandwich was a good balance of fatty Brie with the tart cranberry jam and spicy arugula! The lemonade was probably my favorite part though!! So refreshing! tl;dr: generic sandwiches. nothing too good, nothing too bad. anybody with some taste and a bit of experience could have gotten some fresh bread and done better at home. i had a two sandwiches here during a catered lunch. they were both generic (your classic steak (tri-tip) sandwich with slaw and cheese, a tex mex option), emblematic of a typical mid-tier restaurant's attempt to span the gammut of american food culture. what you get is good, not bad, probably a bit overpriced. my sandwiches were ok, with a thick layer of formerly-melted cheese and too much sauce. the salad was greens and balsamic vinaigrette. the tri-tip was LOADED with sauce. they could have benefitted from fresh bread. read more

But it's a little sad that my boyfriend that is a vegetarian asked for a vegetarian soup with his grilled cheese (the tomato and feta) but it came with meat in it! Ate the first half of my sandwich all I could taste was straight cilantro parsley stems then took apart my other half and found stems. One of biggest pet peeves. Come on it's a 13 dollar sandwich. Let me just say I am a very particular person of what I eat. I ordered the SoCal sandwich, it was the bomb.com. There was so many delicious items to choose from 10/10 would recommend. It was soooo good! The bread was fresh, soft and as I ate my sandwich it dawned on me that all the bread I've eaten in the past were stale and hard. What kind of life is that! The salad had lots of leafy greens and a few tangerines in it. I liked the dressing though...it was a bit tangy but not overwhelming. I also ordered the foccaccia bread which again was a huge portion for a side. I topped my order off with a cane sugar soda of rootbeer. I had to spend at least $15 to get free delivery.
