I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

This place is well-lit, temperature-controlled, and easily accessible, and the access hours work for most cutter schedules. The service I experienced today takes this place from good to great. Erika is highly competent and has a calming demeanor that immediately puts me at ease, as we all know that moving can be very stressful full-time; she makes the leasing process easy and makes sure that you know you are a priority when you visit her store. When there was an urgent matter, she was not in a panic. She masterfully walked me through the issue and guided me to the solution. The urgent matter was my fault, and Erika apologized, which was not her responsibility. She understands that it's essential to keep the customer experience cheerful and the transaction task-oriented. Now I have to figure out how to clone her so she is everywhere else I go. When I call the bank, when I am on the airplane, when I go to work, when I go to the doctor's office, and when I go out to dinner, I need Erika to be in those places. Thats not likely, but until then, I look forward to working with her whenever I visit the Extra Space Storage. He said I have to help myself move out of the storage again and fit the cost of finding help and man power. He believes insurance is the key to my happiness and certainly does not understand that I just buried my son and want some peace for now and understanding. I don't even stay close by. Andre said that pest control is not something they practice as a service that it is a different service separate from them. When I arrived they tried to up-sell me on everything including storage insurance despite the fact that my homeowner insurance covered storage. I decided not to store there. Realizing I really needed a storage unit, I chose the 3005 Kenilworth location. What a difference in service!! Brittany was a sweetheart. She was super friendly and very accommodating. She did not insist I buy their storage insurance. All I had to do was have my insurance fax them a copy of my policy and all was taken care of. We signed a paper contract when they dropped off the unit, although I don't really remember signing a contract. But then 3.5 years later, they sent us a digital contract and asked us to sign it. But because I don't remember the paper contract, I refused to sign the digital contract. Even though we were paying every month on time for the last four years, they refused to give us one more month with the unit because we refused to sign the contract. Additionally, after returning the unit, my credit card was charged two months in a row, and I had to call the company to get a refund on my credit card. I would recommend the business because the delivery and pickup of the unit was simple. But everything else involved with renting this unit, I don't recommend.

Mouse fecal matter and urine was on a good part of my things that had to be thrown away. CubeSmart has mandatory storage insurance that's added on to your bill from their selected insurance company but they don't tell you that it does not cover rodent damage. I also had some water damage of my items from the ceiling of the unit, which was covered by their insurance thank God! There was also damage to the bottom of the door that leads to my unit that makes it easy for rodents to enter that was never repaired. This location never returned any of my calls after I tried to reach out to them and closed my account before my month was ended. When I filled a Better Business Bureau complaint I found out that they had hundreds of complaints to this location already placed. I only received a response from them after I filed a complaint with the State of Maryland Attorney General's Office. I rate them a D- because of the list I endured and the continued suffering I caused from bringing mice in my new house from some of the items. Get rid of your rodent problem and fix any door damages that leads to the unit that makes it easy for mice to get in. As for potential customers beware!
