In the course of 2 years, company decided to raise my agreed rental rate 3 times for up to 50% more than initially agreed. After confronting the manager, I was told this is out of their hands since corporate decides when and how much the rental increases occur. Instead of moving my business elsewhere, manager offered a smaller unit at a much lesser rate, taking into account that "rate will not increase for at least a year and even if it does, increase will be marginal". Trusting this company I decided to go ahead with the downgrade. To my surprise, less than 4 months later I receive ANOTHER RATE INCREASE NOTICE!! This time the increase would be for more than 50% starting next month. This increase like all the others happen for NO JUSTIFIABLE reason. As expressed by many others, this company has a long history of PREDATORY BILLING PRACTICES. They purposely wait for you to be settled with your storage to increase your rates, not by a marginal amount but increases of over 50% of your agreed rental agreement. I appealed this with their superiors in writing but they failed to even respond. I am now in the process of starting to take legal action against this company and needless to say I recommend everyone to stay away from this corporation completely!

But because I don't remember the paper contract, I refused to sign the digital contract. Even though we were paying every month on time for the last four years, they refused to give us one more month with the unit because we refused to sign the contract. Additionally, after returning the unit, my credit card was charged two months in a row, and I had to call the company to get a refund on my credit card. I had had a great experience with them just last year when I last moved and knew they'd be able to get the job done again. My project was immediately responded to and they were able to help me move two weeks later on their soonest available date. The three movers, Pat, Renaldo, and Kevin were incredible. Communication leading up to the move and theday of was great. They were able to move all my large furniture within 2 hours. Everything was wrapped carefully and efficiently. They were kind and thoughtful, helping me make adjustments to the furniture layout once we got to the destination. Their positivity through one of the hardest situations I've ever gone through was much-needed and made me feel confident in entering this next chapter. I even had a last minute change to the destination (originally everything was going into storage but I ended up finding an apartment just in time), and the professionalism and patience from the entire Bookstore team through this change was excellent. Pricing was reasonable yet again and came out to about $500 (excluding tip) for the truck fee and moving of 16 large items. Thank you Bookstore Movers for helping me when I needed it most!

We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

EVERY single person I dealt with at Grasshopper has been customer focused and professional. They are clearly a company that is focused on meeting customer needs versus up-selling or lengthening the process. I would have even considered myself a not ideal client in that I contacted Grasshopper last minute and used them for storage far longer than anticipated AND asked for delivery and received it within 2 days of the request (meaning they didn't get to milk more money out of us just because they could.). DC is filled with lots of competition and these folks are just old fashioned in their approach - they have pride in their work. Finally, they also had the best price based on my extensive research (which I do professionally). If only they provided services outside of moving and storage - housekeeping? mobile phone service? Last night at 7:45 pm I called Brian F. for help moving some items out of a storage unit…read more I had previously arranged this with ReSupply -Habitat for Humanity's service for items they cannot use in their ReStores. They confirmed the night before, that morning, at 2 pm, at 3 pm, at 3:30 pm and at 3:48 pm they said they weren't coming. This was already after canceling the first day and moving the pick-up out 3 days. Needless to say I was in a sweat. The unit had to be empty the day ReSupply bagged on me. I got a 1 day extension from the storage facility to avoid paying for another full month. So - back to Brian at Suburban Solutions. He answered his personal phone at 7:45pm and was personable and promised they would help. Today (31 Aug 2023) at 1:30 pm, he and 3 fellows showed up as promised at the storage facility and took away some heavy furniture and drove it off to be donated. Above and beyond what I wished for... I am very happy. A+ Brian!

AVOID! DRIVER FELL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL, $48K OF PROPERTY DAMAGED, REPEATEDLY LIED TO BY OWNER…read more This was our 3rd move with Suburban Solutions. I now wish that number was 0. Here's why: - They got into a major accident destroying much of our stuff - They lied about it straight to our faces in an attempt to cover it up - They told us they would cover the repair costs but then backed out for most costs Suburban Solutions is the worst and most dishonest company I've ever done business with. See excruciating details and cringe-worthy photos below, then decide whether this is the company you want to entrust with the contents of your home. First, the Suburban Solutions driver got into a major accident causing major damage. Brian, the OWNER of Suburban Solutions, called to say the damage was limited to front corner of the truck, and that he would take care of repairing the broken furniture. He said the driver was run off the road by another vehicle. Then he provided misinformation about the date and location making it harder to track down the police report (which told the truth of what actually happened - yeah, keep reading!). When our property arrived, the damage was much more severe. Several furniture pieces were broken beyond repair and almost all were battered. Most of our smaller items had been repacked into new boxes - along with dirt and weeds from the side of the road. Once he realized the extent of the damage, Brian reneged, saying he would only cover repairs for some (cheaper) items. He found vendors he said were rated 4.9, but they were 4.1. One vendor we called said they FIRED HIM as a client because they refused to do business the way he was trying to get them to. He told us the items would be fully repaired, but behind our back he told those vendors to only fix things minimally and ignore any dents, scratches, etc. We were without a sofa for weeks while he said repairs were in progress. We later learned he had refused to authorize the repairs so instead the sofa just sat there untouched. Our items were in pristine condition at the time of the move and Brian personally commented on how beautifully maintained everything was during the walkthrough. Thankfully, our renter's insurance applied, but when our claims adjustor spoke to him, he lied yet again, telling them that the pieces were in bad shape initially, hoping to deflect responsibility. Hold on, it gets better! A week after the move, the driver texted us to inform us that Brian had actually been LYING the whole time and had required him to play along! The driver had fallen asleep at the wheel while going 70mph. The truck overturned and the top of the truck broke off completely. Our stuff was smashed and dumped all over the side of the road. We were finally able to obtain the police report which confirmed the driver's version of the facts. This happened in the middle of the afternoon on day 2 of the journey after the driver picked up his cousin using the moving truck on day 1. Why was his cousin with him at all? And what were they doing the night before that caused him to doze off at 4pm? Regardless, according to the driver, he had called Brian an hour before the accident to tell him he was falling asleep, but Brian told him to keep going anyway. Brian has since fired the driver and reported to FMCSA that the driver has a "medical condition" that should prohibit him driving in the future. This was never disclosed to us, and if Brian knew about it, then why was he on the road in the first place? Or was this just another tactic for him to deflect blame away from himself? Look, accidents happen 1 in 10,000 times and we drew the short straw. It sucks. It's a low risk for you. But the outrageous lies that followed (and perhaps even led to the accident) were intentional, unprofessional, and fraudulent. Suburban Solutions lied then doubled down to save face after throwing our stuff - and our lives - into complete chaos for the next 6 weeks. They treated their previously loyal customers like total chumps. Hopefully this review and our formal complaint to BBB proves how badly their attempted cover-up backfired. In case Brian tries to reply to this and explain things off with more lies or sugarcoating, I've included photos of the state of our items, written exchanges with him (contact info redacted, of course), text exchanges with the driver (same), and the police report itself. Take a look for yourself. Then ask yourself: Are you willing to risk that this same thing happens to you? Are you willing to do business with a company whose owner will lie directly to your face after wrecking your life? You and your belongings deserve better. And Suburban Solutions deserves to be out of business.

The initial drop off was fine and they came back the day that was requested to pick up our pod. Fast forward a few months later we moved into our home and they dropped off our pod, the time moved from when they were originally supposed to drop off the pod but it was still delivered the same day. A few days go past and our requested pick up day comes and the pod was never picked up. So we checked the status of our pick up and it was changed to the next day and the time frame given was earlier in the day. That time came around and once again the pod wasn't picked up but the time frame changed again to a much later time (6:15-9:45pm) and once again the pod WAS NEVER PICKED UP! Finally my mother and sister called to see what was going on because when they got on the website to see the status of our pickup it was changed again to mid day and an hour or 2 later it was moved to the next day. My mother spoke to the corporate office in Utah because she didn't want to be charged for the days that the pod was just sitting on our property when they were supposed to pick it days ago. They stated that they NOW couldn't pick it up until tomorrow. If you are keeping track, this will now be day 3 with no pickup. My sister called the manager at this location and left him a VM because she wanted to know what was going on and when was someone coming to pick up the pod because it's blocking the road and we live in a neighborhood that we can be fined for this being on the street too long. The manager then stated that they were trying to find someone to come and get the pod today. Most likely it will be this evening. My sister then told him that on the website it's saying the pickup was due to happen tomorrow. He then said they would come and get it today around the same time frame they told us yesterday evening (6:15-9:45). It's now 9:29 and no pickup up truck on site. I highly recommend that you don't deal with company in general; and if you don't have a choice, then don't deal with this location. I will be taking this matter to the BBB because the corporate office is no better than the managers at this location. And they conducted themselves very poorly and they all seem to be confused and not able to communicate well on the matter.

The staff who pick up and drop off the PODS are very skilled and professional. However the PODS customer experience - including scheduling, is abysmal. We had issues with the initial drop off and with final pick up. The final pick up issue was so frustrating that I unfortunately must write this review and would NEVER EVER use PODS again. This is not something I take lightly. For an attempt at brevity, I have only outlined the final issue. But our customer service for drop off scheduling was almost as bad. Given that, I feel confident in suggesting you NEVER use PODS. Our neighbor went with a different company that does similar services and was very happy. We were notified in the middle of our final pick up service window that our service had now been rescheduled to the following day. After navigating the clunky and cumbersome call center, I was relieved to finally talk to a representative. That relief was very short lived. The representative, Jenny, was incredibly combative and unhelpful. I told her I needed the POD picked up today (the day scheduled and confirmed) as it was blocking our driveway and we had movers coming that night for items in our garage(currently blocked by the POD). She told me that she would not be able to help in any way - including refusing to transfer me to any supervisor, manager, or customer service. She repeatedly said "the manager approved moving the date so there is nothing for him to do", refused to give me her name because I "obviously didn't listen when she said it at the beginning of the call" and continued to be rude and dismissive. After 35 minutes on the phone with her, she finally agreed to put me on hold and call the service location. This was only after I reminded her it was a recorded line and I would be making sure to receive a copy of it and ask for a review of her conduct. When she came back on the phone she gave a convoluted about running into the service manager and he said the only thing that could be done is put me on the cancelation list. I repeatedly asked to speak directly with the service manager or supervisor and was told I could not for various reasons including (1) I did not listen to her so I would not be allowed to speak with him; (2) she was not allowed to transfer any calls; (3) she was not allowed to speak with him; (4) he was not there. All were as vague as they were evasive. After an hour on the phone, many different excuses and, quite frankly, rude behavior that was so unprofessional it could have been satire, I was finally able to speak with a manager. They were more professional and called the facility manager at the distribution center. Ultimately they were not able to get the container picked up but were able to at least submit a compensation claim for the deposit I was loosing due to it not being picked up. I have very little hope that will actually get paid out to us but at least she was reasonable and professional. All in I lost two days of time on both the drop off and final pick up with PODS, customer service was comically bad, and I'm out additional money due to their incompetence.

He even threw in a free kitchen packing kit and said the guys would help. Cool. He also gave me discount and I was happy. Kion calls me an hour later asking me to confirm the move. What? He says his notes are confusing so he wants to check. We go over things, AGAIN. He then tells me that it sounds like more work so, he is going to send 5 guys instead of the original 2 guys and a truck because it's gonna be a big job and that it would take 9-12 hours and double the price that I was told. Umm, what? For a 2 bedroom apartment?? He tells me I can speak to his general manager, Kion. I literally confirmed with him before! I literally start crying because I am already stressed from preparing to move in a timely manner before the 31st.
