We signed a paper contract when they dropped off the unit, although I don't really remember signing a contract. But then 3.5 years later, they sent us a digital contract and asked us to sign it. But because I don't remember the paper contract, I refused to sign the digital contract. Even though we were paying every month on time for the last four years, they refused to give us one more month with the unit because we refused to sign the contract. Additionally, after returning the unit, my credit card was charged two months in a row, and I had to call the company to get a refund on my credit card. I would recommend the business because the delivery and pickup of the unit was simple. But everything else involved with renting this unit, I don't recommend.

I have reported this to the Better Business Bureau, my insurance company, and to any and all business review agencies like Yelp. I must say that I am leaving now that the new management has created an atmosphere of distrust, dishonesty, and lies. When I first moved my trailer, I was very happy with Donna Strickland managing the property because she was very quick to notify someone if there ever was an issue, concern, or question about my property. Since the new management has taken over, we have experienced property damage that they refused to report. It was only found after we checked on the trailer. We were told that it had been that way for over a year, which is an outright lie. I had been to my property in January 2022 to retrieve items from the trailer and there was no problem at that time. We were then told that we did this, which again was an outright lie. Our property was hit by another vehicle and the management never informed us or took a report from the other vehicle involved. They are now claiming that cameras, which were in place are not working. They are refusing to take responsibility for the damage since they failed to report the incident. They have been dishonest in the handling of this matter and have lied every time I question them about this matter. We were told that a report would be sent to Corporate but that was over a month ago and still, no one has contacted us about this matter. I will be happy to inform anyone that has property at Fort Knox Storage in Columbia, Maryland to reconsider and move it as soon as possible. I would NEVER recommend anyone use this facility until the management has changed. This is 100% a dishonest business and they are 100% dishonest in their business dealings. I had had a great experience with them just last year when I last moved and knew they'd be able to get the job done again. My project was immediately responded to and they were able to help me move two weeks later on their soonest available date. The three movers, Pat, Renaldo, and Kevin were incredible. Communication leading up to the move and theday of was great. They were able to move all my large furniture within 2 hours. Everything was wrapped carefully and efficiently. They were kind and thoughtful, helping me make adjustments to the furniture layout once we got to the destination. Their positivity through one of the hardest situations I've ever gone through was much-needed and made me feel confident in entering this next chapter. I even had a last minute change to the destination (originally everything was going into storage but I ended up finding an apartment just in time), and the professionalism and patience from the entire Bookstore team through this change was excellent. Pricing was reasonable yet again and came out to about $500 (excluding tip) for the truck fee and moving of 16 large items. Thank you Bookstore Movers for helping me when I needed it most!

We were disappointed with our recent experience with Bookstore Movers. The crew was polite, but the…read moremove felt much slower and less efficient than it should have been. We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.
