There was snow & ice in front of storage door and I had no way to remove it because I didn't know that the facility didn't do any removal. There are vehicles parked everywhere. Looks like a homeless shelter.

This is my experience with this particular location in Lanham Seabrook. The others locations may or…read moremay not have the same issues . **But I would AVOID this location if possible. I originally rented my first unit in 2021. The listed property manager at the time was A. Addison. 2. Upsized Unit (Late 2023 / Early 2024) I upgraded to a larger unit. My costs were: Rent: $143.00 Admin Fee: $28.00 The contract also included storage insurance: Coverage Amount: $5,000 Monthly Premium: $16 Insurance Start Date: 1/23/2024 3. Unit Leak & Damage (January 2024) When I accessed the new unit (Unit 6066), I discovered that all of my belongings had been soaked by rain. I immediately emailed the management team with photos and video. 4. Filed Insurance Claim (1/26/24) I submitted a claim through Xercor for $28.00, including full documentation. 5. Master Policy Notice Xercor later emailed stating that my claim fell under a master policy held by the storage facility, not a personal policy. 6. Submitted Additional Documentation .I provided an affidavit confirming the accuracy of my $28.00 claim. Transferred to New Unit & Poor Service (February 2024) Management assigned me a new unit (6514) and told me I could take possession on 2/3/24. However: The manager never removed the lock. I arrived at 7 AM but management did not show up until 10 AM, leaving me waiting 3 hours in the parking lot. This was extremely unprofessional and inconvenient. 10. Claim Denied (February 2024) Despite paying monthly insurance fees, my $28.00 claim was denied, which made the insurance feel like a scam. 11. Gate Access Issues (2/19/24) My access code suddenly stopped working due to an internal "mix-up" that occurred during my transfer from the leaking unit. Ongoing Billing Errors & Additional Fees (2024-2025) The problems continued for more than a year: Feb 6, 2025: I received a new invoice with insurance charges added again, even after my claim had already been denied. Feb-Apr 2025: I provided proof of homeowners insurance multiple times, but they continued charging me for storage insurance. Late April 2025: Manager Theresa finally submitted a request to correct my account. The Owners never corrected . I asked for an updated statement four times, but the management team still did not refund the unnecessary insurance fees. Nov 2025: They charged me again for insurance and added a $5 online payment fee. Overall Summary This facility: Charges unnecessary and repeated fees Fails to honor their own insurance policies Provides extremely poor customer service Has ongoing management and billing incompetence Creates unnecessary stress and financial inconvenience Based on my documented experience, this storage location tends to nickel-and-dime customers, lacks proper management, and offers unreliable service. Not very clean in my opinion and my images I can add upon request. Recommendation: Do yourself a favor and avoid this location. The emotional stress, inconvenience, and constant billing issues simply aren't worth it.

I couldn't be happier with their service and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a moving company!

I appreciate your response, but I need to clarify a few points for accuracy. At no point did I…read morerefuse to pay for services rendered--what I objected to was the lack of professionalism, last-minute changes, and misrepresentation of the job despite providing an inventory in advance.Your team arrived late and attempted to upsell, which created unnecessary stress and forced me to rent a truck myself in order to complete the move. This was not an issue of "budget," but rather of expectations set by your company not being met. Customers should be able to rely on a moving service to honor the scheduled time, come prepared, and communicate honestly. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. What's more telling is that several other reviews describe the same experience I had--so this isn't an isolated issue. Instead of addressing that pattern, your assumption is that I "couldn't afford the move"... interesting. While I understand setbacks can occur, dismissing concerns by blaming the customer is not good business practice. My review reflects my experience so that future customers can make informed decisions.

Patrick and his crew, Renaldo, Nitua, Gerand and Kevin, exceeded the already high expectations I had based upon the reviews. I will happily recommend Bookstore to family and friends and will never use another moving company. Their strength, kindness, commitment and pride in their job and the company, organization, efficiency as a crew (this was amazing to watch- they just flowed as a team of 5 and Patrick was an excellent leader!), was consitent and apparent throughout the entire time they spent with us. I really can't say enough good things about the experience and hope to work with them again when we hopefully buy a place and move in the next couple of years. The price was also incredibly fair, worth every penny for their first-rate and professional work and incredibly pleasant dispositions, just a really great group of guys!

I moved this past weekend and hired Bookstore Movers for the job. I can honestly say I was blown…read moreaway by the professionalism, efficiency, and expertise of the moving crew. I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

My family and I were moving into our home and used the services of this company in order to store…read moresome of our items until we officially moved into our new home. The initial drop off was fine and they came back the day that was requested to pick up our pod. Fast forward a few months later we moved into our home and they dropped off our pod, the time moved from when they were originally supposed to drop off the pod but it was still delivered the same day. A few days go past and our requested pick up day comes and the pod was never picked up. So we checked the status of our pick up and it was changed to the next day and the time frame given was earlier in the day. That time came around and once again the pod wasn't picked up but the time frame changed again to a much later time (6:15-9:45pm) and once again the pod WAS NEVER PICKED UP! Finally my mother and sister called to see what was going on because when they got on the website to see the status of our pickup it was changed again to mid day and an hour or 2 later it was moved to the next day. My mother spoke to the corporate office in Utah because she didn't want to be charged for the days that the pod was just sitting on our property when they were supposed to pick it days ago. They stated that they NOW couldn't pick it up until tomorrow. If you are keeping track, this will now be day 3 with no pickup. My sister called the manager at this location and left him a VM because she wanted to know what was going on and when was someone coming to pick up the pod because it's blocking the road and we live in a neighborhood that we can be fined for this being on the street too long. The manager then stated that they were trying to find someone to come and get the pod today. Most likely it will be this evening. My sister then told him that on the website it's saying the pickup was due to happen tomorrow. He then said they would come and get it today around the same time frame they told us yesterday evening (6:15-9:45). It's now 9:29 and no pickup up truck on site. I highly recommend that you don't deal with company in general; and if you don't have a choice, then don't deal with this location. I will be taking this matter to the BBB because the corporate office is no better than the managers at this location. And they conducted themselves very poorly and they all seem to be confused and not able to communicate well on the matter.

Our pod…read morewas dropped off (and someone was available immediately when we needed to book), but we CANNOT get them to come pick it up. We are in DC and our street permit for the POD expired two days ago. They marked it as picked up although it was not, and we waited on the phone for TWO HOURS before someone answered at 10:30PM. They were supposed to come this morning and did not show again. We called again and they allegedly scheduled it for this evening. I've just checked the dashboard and it has now been rescheduled to tomorrow evening (3 days late). I do not think they will come before the POD will be towed, at which point we will have to pay god knows how much to access it. I'm reporting this everywhere possible, including to the BBB.

The place is clean, the carts are in good working order and the managers are friendly, at least on…read morethe surface. That being said, I have the following complaints... 1) They pile fees on without notifying you. I made the mistake of not signing up for the auto-pay program, since I knew I'd be moving out of state and would be moving my stuff out before month 2 anyway. Plans got delayed, and my stuff stayed. The following happened without notice to me: Sep 5: $10 "overlock" charge. This is where they place a lock over yours so you can't access your stuff until you pay your fees. Sep 15: $37 late fee. 20% of your rent. Sep 30: $50 late fee. Oct 1: $14 LLP fee. Limited Liability Protection (which unnecessarily duplicates my renter's insurance), was forcibly added on because of a special and continues to be billed to me. Oct 5: I received a "courtesy" call informing me that my payment was late and that all these late charges had been added to my account. Not a single peep from the company, not an email, a text, a letter, a phone call, nothing. They happily continued laying on these late fees as the days rolled by. When asked why they didn't call me on the 5th of the *first* month, when I could have done something about the $100+ worth of fees, 2) They don't pro-rate. If you move your stuff in on the 27th, you get to pay for the whole month. 3) Their hours are somewhat restrictive. After 9pm the gate and facility automatically lock and you can't get to your stuff, no matter how important it is. This also doesn't allow for much time after work to move your things. They won't likely be staying open on your moving day, either. 4) They won't work with you if you have special needs. 5) They refuse to compromise on the contract terms. 6) It smells. The place has a strong chemical smell--turpentine, epoxy or something. Like gasoline, the smell itself doesn't bother me too much, but it can't be good for humans to breathe that in. 7) They false advertise. A move-in special was advertised for a certain dollar amount. Once you fill out all the paperwork and hand them your credit card, they casually mention at the end, "Oh, by the way, there are also 8) Their customer service process takes awhile. They make it difficult to make certain changes to your account, like taking off the $14 per month fee they add on starting on the second month for fire insurance. Though it is optional, they make you hassle with paperwork. 9) One of the managers had the temerity to tell me that I should have chosen to move out on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd of the month since the end of the month was so busy (gee, I wonder why....since you don't pro-rate, you drive people to maximize their time there, and create a big, messy traffic jam on the first and last days of the month). Conclusion: EZ Storage will not be getting my business in the future. I pulled my stuff out inconveniently early and stored it with a moving company, OD Household Services (which is a great value company for small- to mid-sized moves--brilliant business model).
