I was shopping around for a bit and came across Carlos movers through one of my neighbors where I'm actually moving in. So called them to get a quote, the guy seems to be very busy, but he returned my call end of the day, and told me the quote. It was fairly lower than any other moving companies I've approached. I was bit skeptical but am in the process of moving into a home I recently bought, and almost everything had its own challenges. So thought I'll take a chance with Carlos. I was trying to save every penny, so did most of the disassembly/packing/wrapping myself to save labor & material cost. The guys showed up at least 30 mins before the appointment time, the truck came up early before the appointment time. They were very courteous and made it easy as I've already wrapped and labeled items. I thought there'll be 3 guys, but there were 4 of them who did a clean job loading all my furniture from 3rd floor condo in an elevator to their truck. When they were ready to go to my new place, I thought they're going to take a little break, so I took a little break and went to my new place. But the truck is already there ready to unload, so I opened the door, they started laying the floor rags, etc. Asked me where to place each of the items when they're unloading. They did offered help to unwrap the items what I've wrapped it myself. Overall, my experience with Carlos Movers was awesome and it's the only thing that went well with my whole moving and setting up the new place. I'll vouch for these guys. I really saved a ton of money going with these guys, and also doing most of the stuff myself, using them only to load/move/unload.

I had one issue with the frankly crappy reassembly of my captain's bed. When the movers left, the bed was bowed, drawers would not close completely and the slats were falling out or not fitting in at all. I reported the problem to Serena and it was corrected promptly. A crew came and reassembled the bed to eliminate the problems. Finally, Serena is the best. She is responsive, knowledgeable, friendly and very easy to work with. I would recommend this business almost entirely as a result of the superior service she provided.

When I contacted MOTW among others, I was initially turned off by their hard core phone presence marketing, but once I told them to cease, they did. So I learned that they do listen. Because of their competitive pricing I was concerned that 1 or more of the glass table tops I have as well as nicer furniture would be broken broken or scratched. That was not the case. Everything was super wrapped in blankets and then covered in packing tape before it even left the house. The guys, 3 of them, worked hard without breaks except for lunch when they traveled between destinations. They were friendly and worked with a great attitude which led me to tip them well. There is a place going up the stairs where the ceiling meets the incline that typically gets banged and damaged during moving. They did not hit it once. A couple of items were incorrectly placed in rooms but that was as much our fault for miscommunicating. All in all I would use them again if needed.

I wholeheartedly agree. Their website was easy to navigate and easier still to create a rough inventory of your belongings (take your time and confirm, room to room. Trust me: you own more than you think.) Once I'd submitted that Charlie reached out to me shortly after and was my point of contact throughout. I was able to make updates and adjustments up to the week of the move and even then I got 2 confirmations, one a day prior and one the morning of the move. A 4-man crew managed to move a 2-bedroom condo and a 4-bedroom condo into a single townhouse with a single truck, 1 trip between each location, and all in under 8 hours. Good men that busted their asses all day and earned every penny of their salary. TMM is not cheap but this is very much a case of quality work coming at an worthwhile rate; sometimes you need to pay more for the best service. You can certainly find less expensive movers but you would be hard-pressed to find movers of a higher quality. Book sooner than later, feed your movers, tip your movers.

Somehow, my friends, who are not professional movers, didn't need to do this. But the professional movers did? And didn't put it back? - were not former Marines or US military. And this one might be the biggest deal to me. Don't advertise that you nearly exclusively hire former military and veterans, then send me an entire team of none. As the daughter of a Marine, I I consider this to be on the level of stolen valor; you're exploiting the veteran status when all you did was hire people off the street. - the management and customer service team won't return my emails or phone calls. Today I'll be calling the Spotsylvania County Better Business Bureau as well as the Fairfax County Better Business Bureau to figure out log a complaint. If you can't complete the business transaction, you shouldn't be allowed to do business.
