I contacted the main office and I will say that David one of the owners took the matter serious and listened to what I had to say, and began to so good positive and rectify the matter immediately. On moving day, they pulled a blatant bait-and-switch.Halfway through, they claimed my items wouldn't fit and forced a second truck and extra worker onto the bill. At 11:30 PM, the moving crew leader applied intense verbal pressure, demanding $3,985.00--nearly triple the initial quote--and pressured me to pay via Zelle. To protect my personal safety and under midnight duress, I had to force them to accept a credit card. This is a direct violation of the Maryland Household Goods Movers Act pricing caps. After multiple quotes, reading reviews, and checking with the BBB we decided the best mix of reputation and cost is Movers on the Way. One of the founders came to the home and looked through the house. All employees have been straight talking and easy to talk to. We stored our belongings in their warehouse for more than one year. Other than a dollar store bucket, some parts of my jointer (they offered to pay for the replacement parts) and a few furniture dings the contents arrived as packed. My only slight ding is they told me they have semis crossing the country several times a week and it would be their employees. Movers On the Way were a pleasant surprise. I initially went to my old local favorite that has been around forever but they have expanded services and their prices have escalated significantly. When I contacted MOTW among others, I was initially turned off by their hard core phone presence marketing, but once I told them to cease, they did. So I learned that they do listen. Because of their competitive pricing I was concerned that 1 or more of the glass table tops I have as well as nicer furniture would be broken broken or scratched. That was not the case. Everything was super wrapped in blankets and then covered in packing tape before it even left the house. The guys, 3 of them, worked hard without breaks except for lunch when they traveled between destinations. They were friendly and worked with a great attitude which led me to tip them well. There is a place going up the stairs where the ceiling meets the incline that typically gets banged and damaged during moving. They did not hit it once. A couple of items were incorrectly placed in rooms but that was as much our fault for miscommunicating. All in all I would use them again if needed. read more

Both trucks came to unload at the same time. Why couldn't one come and unlioad and then go back and get the rest. The supervisor said they didn't have enough room to bring it all yet the owner had assessed everything. Boxes stacked in my garage so high I couldn't get to my freezers. I waited a month to write about my experience with Movers on the Way to ensure that I had all my stuff and it was in good condition. Movers on the Way and Storage did a good job in helping me move from one county to another. Luis even gave me good advice and some suggestions on moving. I moved from a large 4 bedroom house to a smaller 4 bedroom house. At first I wasn't sure about these guys as I have never used a moving company before. The packers were on time, very nice and considerate. The price was a little high but after looking into another company and negotiating with Movers on the way, it worked out okay. I started out with 4 great guys and ended the day with 3 great guys. They worked really hard and fast and was able to break down all my furniture and put it all back together at the other place. They set up everything the way I wanted it in each room. The reason I gave them a 4 star is because there was some issues regarding the storage unit at the beginning that eventually got resolved, I started with 1 truck and ended with 2 trucks, which means more money which I didn't understand why, and after opening all the boxes and bins, there were a lot of cracked and broken pieces, like 2 bins, a broken knob on the the tv console, a large pamper chef dish, a lamp, some mugs, a crystal dish and a handmade ceramic bear that was specially made for my child, and these boxes had FRAGILE written on them. I believe these things got broken because of the way they were stacked in the storage unit which was not stacked very well. Nevertheless, I sent in a claim as I was told for those items but was denied on most of the items that were irreplaceable but CSI offered only $23 in all. Cannot say enough good things about these movers! They arrived on time with a huge truck and got right to work on moving our belongings. They were very careful and brought blankets for the larger pieces of furniture. They made it easy to do business. A slight issue with the quote, although the move was clearly marked as the same zip code, they tried to increase by approximately 13% but then reduced it 4%. (I still paid a 4% increase because they made an error). On moving day, the two gentlemen were polite and efficient. One spoke and understood English and the other struggled to communicate, this caused some issues, but all went off without a hitch! There were some overage fees from the original quote, but they were justified. However, there was again some math issues as the increase was to be 16% and they said it was 30%. After they called their supervisor, everything was settled correctly. I would use them again, but I would be diligent about the mathematics. Leo and his team were assigned to help me, and they were absolutely wonderful. Make sure to check every last thing before they leave including plugging your tv in to make sure the screen isnt broken. We moved into our home in February but didnt unbox our tv until april to put it up. The tv hadnt moved from where the movers placed it until we were ready to hang it up. When we plugged it in only half of the screen worked. I didnt report it because it had been a couple of months and didnt want to go through the back and forth hassle. The reason why i finally decided to leave a review was today im getting ready to bbq and i look under my grill and a majority of my grilling supplies are missing including a very expensive meat thermometer. The other material was carelessly thrown into the charcoal bin. Im assuming they didnt know those things were there and they fell in the truck. They only picked up some items and left others. Seeing as how its june its probably not worth the hassle of going back and forth. I believe I spoke with Sergio who was professional and helpful and prompt in his replies. The morning of the move, they sent 6 guys who were phenomenal. They knew what they were doing, they were respectful, friendly, and despite the previous days rain and a brief down pour when they arrived managed to move the 750lb hot tub without damaging the yard in any way. They showed up at the beginning of the proposed window and had the job finished in less than two hours which included a 20 minute drive to the new location. Bad Business Tactics! Guy comes to the house, assesses all the furniture for moving, includes 4 night's storage. Gives us a quote. My husband mentions we will get 2 additional quotes and get back to them, "no need, we want your business we will match or undercut by $200! We received their quote in writing, clearly detailed out, paid a deposit and set a moving date for almost in 2 weeks. The night before they were due to pack us up, 7pm in the evening, the owner of the company calls and says " we under quoted you, you need to pay $1000 more upfront! He knew we had no choice, it's not like we could get another company at that late hour. We tried to argue that we had a quote in writing and if it was a mistake, then it's on them. If it truly was an error, then why not call us earlier than the night before! Do not trust the business. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Make sure you get in writing EXACTLY what they will be doing. I used them for a cross country move recently and they lied. Ok Yelp messaging and in person they told me I would have a move where only my things were loaded on the truck and driven directly to my new home. This did not happen. I didn't know until the next day when the driver told me that he might not make it on my "guaranteed" delivery date. Had I known what they were going to do, I would have went with another company. They charged far too much for the service they provided. I paid over 7K to have my things loaded in a truck with a bunch of other people, take a longer transit time because they needed to do other pickup/deliveries. Other companies actually quoted me a little less and had better/more reviews. I trusted these guys and they let me down. Things were damaged some even destroyed. They took apart both of my cribs, against my request, and lost screws so now I can't even put them back together properly. Worst of it, I haven't heard anything from them about compensation for this. They know they overcharged for what they provided. Disappointed in my experience but I hope this review can help others make a better choice. You don't always get what you pay for. read more

We used them twice: once to move rugs and a sofa to a senior residence near our house in Montgomery County, MD and then move furniture within our house to make up for what was moved to the sr. citizen residence. A week later, they moved everything from my sister's one-bedroom apartment in Richmond VA to the senior citizen residence in Montgomery County. We packed the boxes ourselves. They were careful with her furniture and possessions, efficient in loading the truck in a building that had only one working elevator and lots of residents in wheelchairs and powerchairs who needed to use it also. Initially, the service started great with Monster Movers. However, I quickly realized everything that was confirmed with the setup was not factual. The avg move time was incorrect. On the day of pick-up Movers on the Way showed up to pick up my belongings. I was charged more from the initial quote from Monster Movers despite the fact that I detailed all items and called a week before to provide an exact amount of boxes. They had my belongings for 10 business days after pick up and it was placed in storage, which was never shared. I was told the delays would be dropping off other furniture but my furniture was not even on a truck. I was told that they would place my stuff on a truck with other moves heading west not that they would still be trying to figure it out 2 weeks later after pick-up. When you call to get updates expect to get the run-around and make sure you save a copy of the quote as the link will expire and they will not resend when you have questions about why things are now changing with the level of customer service you are receiving. Fast forward my belongs were delivered 1 day before hitting the 31 business day mark. This is after several call and receiving incorrect communication on when it was on the truck and headed this way after additional stops in other states which changed a couple of times. My belongings were damaged/broken and they lost my Christmas trees and did not put everything back together that they took apart. My recommendation is to Not use this company as the level of customer service received was poor. For everything damaged and or broken I received a total of $150. read more
