Sasha was good to work with from the moment that I requested a quote to the actual move in date. She made the experience one of ease. Also, they have the ability for you to estimate an inventory of your items online as oppose to manual. This is helpful in planning your move. Affordability and accommodating are the main selling points and delineation with this moving company. NewRay accommodated my move which required transporting and moving items from my home as a first stop.......to making an additional stop to an UHaul Storage facility to pick up additional items as part of the move before heading to my final destination. On the move day, the movers arrived during the time window expected and were great. I must admit though, I was a bit frustrated with the size of the truck promised and offered for my move. 2 Star deduction for not offering the truck promised nor communicating /updating me on the change. It almost felt like a bait switch move. The truck was unmarked (no company logo) and too small for the number of items and stops I knew we had to make, but we made it work despite items being crammed in the truck.....not to my satisfaction. Also, we had to carry a number of items in our cars to alleviate over-cramming the truck and/or causing any damage to expensive--special items from my home. Between packing items in our cars and their smaller truck, we were able to handle the move needless to say. The workers most of all deserves a "high-five!" They put up with a lot from me that day and understood my frustration. They were efficient, fast and worked very hard. They were even patient and accommodating to assist in the packing of items, as to I was still packing when they arrived. Upon arrival to my new home, they took great care and attention to moving items into the house and assembling furniture. Everything arrived safely, with an exception of minor scratch and ding to a bed frame and large standing floor vase. In all, the decision to go with NewRay movers was not all bad. Despite the misunderstanding on my expectation of the truck size expected and discussed with Sasha, my move was handled competently. Scheduling was easy and the entire process in all honesty was seamless. Not to mention, the price point (hourly rate) was one of the better rates offered in DMW for my move. Although they do have a 6% credit card surcharge which is bit steep, this is something that was made at least clear upfront. Would I recommend NewRay Moving or use them again? I must be honest, I am on the fence but would consider them as "an option" if there was a need for another move at least due to how nice the workers were and how accommodating they were to our needs.....despite the management and Sasha's mishaps.

The crew showed up on time, wrapped every piece of furniture carefully, and worked nonstop without ever seeming rushed or careless. What stood out most was how friendly and communicative the team was throughout the process, answered questions, and made a genuinely stressful day feel manageable. Pricing was fair and matched the estimate with no surprise fees. If you're looking for a moving company that's professional, careful, and just easy to work with, I'd highly recommend DC Moving Inc. I'm writing to review a little late since we've been getting settled into our new home in Chicago,…read morebut it's been on my todo list because Joseph and his crew were amazing! We found out pretty last minute that we were going to be moving to Chicago. On top of all the added stress was finding a moving company we could trust. We received a quote for $3400 from another moving company for a full cross-state move. This was way out of our budget give. That we were leaving most of the furniture behind. Instead, we opted to do the good ol' Uhaul way. We needed movers to come help load the truck Friday night since we'd be leaving Saturday morning. I looked into company after company with some concerning reviews about efficiency, speed, and care. Made Movers was the one company that stood out with consistently good reviews, and for good reason! Joseph was super quick to get back to my request for a quote. He gave us a very reasonable hourly price, and was able to accommodate our Friday evening time frame. Joseph was also very responsive on follow-up emails, which I appreciated. On the day of the move Joseph called to let us know they were running 15-20 minutes late. It wasn't a huge amount of time, so I appreciated the heads up. Joseph and his crew arrived and got right to work. Most of our stuff was boxed already, but the furniture needed wrapping. The crew carefully wrapped our furniture with the furniture blankets we picked up from Uhaul. The entire time they worked very efficiently and quickly. Once the work was done, in under 2 hours, there were no hidden costs, nothing in our apartment was scratched or broken (horror stories I read about other companies) and the Uhaul looked ready to go. When we finally got to Chicago we were happy to find not a single piece of furniture was broken or dented, and the movers here were quickly able to unload the truck due to how well it was packed in the first place. Joseph and his crew were awesome. They at least made this part of the move incredibly easy, and for that we are thankful. Will 100% recommend them to others in the DMV area in the future!

It had been a very long time since I last moved and the last company was all booked up on the date…read moreI was looking for assistance. So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. Overall, would definitely recommend PMC - they're easy to work with, fair and transparent about pricing and you're sure to be met with professionalism!

They moved everything from my studio to my new place in under three hours. It was a local move with only about 10 to 15 minutes of driving, but they were still extremely fast and efficient. Nothing was broken, although I did transport the more fragile items myself to be extra careful. The only issue was that they left several long, noticeable scuff marks on the wall in my narrow hallway. That was unfortunate, but it felt fairly minor in the grand scheme of the move. Overall, the movers were professional, efficient, and easy to communicate with. I would still recommend them, but I would suggest keeping an eye on the walls in tighter spaces.

Scheduling this company and receiving a quote that was SPOT on, was amazing. The communication from Ana was perfect. She kept me in the loop about arrival time, send out a confirmation about my booking, and even helped me change my original date to something sooner. Originally, I was quoted a timeframe between 1-5pm, they showed up an hour EARLIER! To some this may have been the part where you panic, especially if you are running small items back and forth to your new place, to me?? This was PERFECT, because I was able to have a headstart for my long moving day. The truck was large enough, both movers came in and were polite, patient, and did not make me feel uncomfortable when handling my items. They wrapped all dressers, tv stands, coffee tables, and TVs and ensured everything was delivered carefully. No frills, no stalling for extra time (you do get charged hourly if you exceed your allowed time), and just straight to business. All in all, I do recommend booking for your next move, the price is unbeatable and the workers are great. Once again thank you very much!
