    GREEN BEANS
    Stephanie Y.

Tasty food, moderately authentic but small portions for the price. Got the green beans, beef, vegetable dumplings and dan dan. Beef was the best but tiny portions for the price. Dumplings were good but could have been more flavorful. Green beans were good. Dan dan kinda tasted like bolognese with a Chinese twist rather than authentic dan dan noodles. Service was good and restaurant had a nice ambience.

We hit up Tyger Tyger on Queen Anne before a concert at Climate Pledge, and honestly, the location alone already earns points. It's super close to the arena, which makes it a perfect pre-show stop, assuming you plan accordingly, because this place fills up fast. Now, I love me some Szechuan food, so I walked in fully prepared to do some damage. I was starving and made the very responsible decision to order a little bit of everything. Do I remember all the official dish names? Absolutely not. Do I remember that everything was delicious? Very much yes. Standouts for me were the green beans (shockingly addictive), the pork tobiko dumplings (chef's kiss), and the dan dan noodles, which were flavorful, comforting, and exactly what I wanted before a concert. The fried rice and the tenderloin pepper beef were also amazing, bold, savory, and not messing around. Food-wise, there were zero misses. Service was solid, friendly, and attentive, and I appreciated that the manager even came out to check on tables to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. The vibe is contemporary and urban, and it feels like a fun, high-energy place to kick off your night. The only real opportunity here? The drinks took a bit longer than expected. And when you're headed to a concert, you kind of need that alcohol to keep the momentum and the party going. They should know the concert schedule and be ready for the rush. Overall, fantastic food, great location, and a perfect pre-Climate Pledge spot, just make sure you give yourself enough time for drinks. I'd absolutely come back (concert or no concert).

My second time I've been here & it's been awhile...BUT I remember why I liked it so much. Had the best dining experience!! The restaurant has sleek decor and lively energy. Tyger Tyger is perfect for date nights or pre-show dinners near the arena. Service was great & very attentive we got our cocktails, appetizers & food right away. They have a variety of menu items that fits anyone dietary needs or preferences. The food was sooooooo good!! well seasoned & has bold flavors!! Sichuan pepper, chili oil, etc. So you'll get the heat and the tingling sensation. Overall I was happy with my pick for our Friday night date night. Highly recommend

Stopped by Tyger Tyger on our way to the Seattle Storm game earlier this week! They offer lots of vegan options on their menu! All of the dishes we ordered embodied bold, original flavors. The Mushroom Tempura Bun was interesting, aesthetically gorgeous and mouth watering combination of flavors. One truly unique aspect to this dish was the tongue numbing sensation brought on by the peppercorns lol, leaving me feeling as if I'd just left the dentist lol. It wasn't bad, just weird, something I was unaccustomed to. The numbing sensation isn't something that would prevent me from ordering this dish in the future but nor is it an aspect that I would intentionally seek out. The Carrot & Cabbage dumplings were to die for. You get one or two bites from each dumpling as the sauce coats the dumplings, providing the perfect accompaniment. Last, the Silken Tofu with Mushroom Garlic. Yet another dish with impeccably deep rich flavor. I would strongly recommend you ask for a fork when eating this dish. The dish is very difficult to eat with the chopsticks, this due to the smoothness of the silken tofu and the rice being fluffy (and delicious) but had the rice perhaps been more sticky, it might have been easier to pair with the tofu for each bite (and that's not meant as a critique, but rather just an observation). We were stubborn and didn't want to let the tofu win haha, but honestly, we struggled so much with the chopsticks for this dish that it served as a serious detriment to enjoying it fully. Go with a fork, there's no shame :) With the amazing depth of flavors these dishes provided, I can't wait to visit Tyger Tyger and experience what their other vegan options have to offer!

**vegetarian review** I was pleasantly surprised by how vegan friendly the menu is here. My friends and I got green beans, vegan Dan Dan, mushroom bun and salt pepper tofu. Food was very quick to arrive, the host was super friendly! Everything was tasty - a little on the saltier side but goes well with a side of rice. Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

Stopped in for dinner before a concert at Climate Pledge Arena and so glad we did! It was a Sunday at 6 pm and not too busy so we were seated right away. The restaurant is a little dark inside but nicely set up and modern looking. There is seating for around 60 people maybe. We ordered drinks and our dinner and both came very quick. We had the Sichuan steak and and a spicy Sichuan Pacific Sole. Both were absolutely delicious and satisfyingly spicy! I definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

We had a reservation at Tyger Tyger before a show in the area. I can't say that many restaurants in Queen Anne interest us too much, but Tyger Tyger seemed like a good choice, with a menu filled with dishes that look nice on paper. The atmosphere feels more like a dim sports bar-type establishment rather than a modern Chinese restaurant, complete with live sports on the two TVs and hard angular surfaces bouncing around the overly loud music to a level almost deafening. It's also cramped enough that it's very easy to bump into neighboring tables. We ordered three dishes, anticipating each to be rather small, given the pictures on Yelp. The dishes are actually larger than they appear in photos. Each dish comes with a large serving spoons making the pictures deceiving due to the size of the spoon against the size of the serving vessels. Garlic Three Way Fried Rice ($18) - I was confused when this dish arrived given the copious amount of items piled on top and mixed into the dish. The balance is totally wrong, with probably 2/3 of the dish being a combination of small egg shreds, fried chicken, roasted garlic, sliced and fried garlic, crunchy yet tender garlic confit, large scallion (almost negi-size), and even mustard greens. The top is sprinkled with what seems to be bits of crunchy fried red chili, yet is not spicy at all. The chicken is interesting and doesn't really feel like it belongs in the dish. It's boneless thigh meat, covered in a cornstarch based batter and fried, very similar to the base fried chicken used in a bunch of American-Chinese dishes (e.g. Orange Chicken, etc). It's tender and moist, although not sauced at all. By itself, I think the chicken is quite good. Otherwise, though, the dish isn't cohesive or balanced, like someone dumped a bunch of random ingredients (not necessarily a bad thing for fried rice) together in way too large of a quantity, mixed into rice and then topped it with more random things. Remove the chicken, add two or three times the amount of rice, stir fry together, and I can see this being a good dish. (2/5) Today's Greens ($13) - The veggie of the day was gai choy. There's a bit of smokiness in this dish, which I could not detect in the fried rice. The leaves are cooked until tender, while the stems still have a bit of a crunch. It's cooked with plenty of sliced garlic (some pieces hard, some soft), and is very spicy, probably comparable to 2 or 3 pepper spiciness at many restaurants. There's only a very mild mala quality, far overshadowed by the direct heat. The flavor profile is exceptionally green and bitter. It's a taste that requires some adjusting to, which is why I'm surprised they chose mustard greens rather than a milder veggie. The flavor on the exterior of the veggies is extremely inconsistent - some pieces spicy, some gingery, some bland. It feels like they stir fried the greens, then lackadaisically mixed the rest in later. (2/5) Thrice Cooked Pork Belly ($22) - This is a flavorful dish, filled with umami and saltiness from several types of doubanjiang. They add a bit of Sichuan peppercorn, giving the numbing feeling that eclipses the other two dishes. Overall a very blunt concentrated flavor making it very salty, but it doesn't feel blended/layered well. This is not an issue at most Chinese restaurants because there's always white rice as the base to help balance out the really bold flavors. Tyger Tyger, though? There's no plain rice on the menu, and the carb choices are all heavily spiced. I keep mentioning flavor balance. This dish is acceptable, as long as there is some kind of milder carb to eat it with, whether plain noodle, rice, or bao. But at this place, those choices literally don't exist. In terms of ingredients, the pork is pretty good. It's cooked until tender, rendering the fat soft and easy to eat. It's also fried, which creates a a crunchy skin layer over the fat that doesn't soften from the sauce. The dish also includes plenty of multi-colored sweet peppers, imparting a fragrance of pepper, but not heat. Some softened red and green onion, along with garlic and ginger help flavor the sauce with further aromatic compounds. There are Chinese celery ribs with a barely cooked bite that help to balance out some of the porky fattiness. As with the other dishes, construction is strange. It seems like the ingredients are cooked entirely separately and assembled in layers on the plate, making it lack cohesion. It's a decent dish, but really begs for rice to be eaten with. (3/5) I don't know the culinary background of the chef, but as a personal opinion, this feels like non-Chinese cooking for non-Chinese clientele. They call themselves a "Sichuan spot" and I'm not sure that's an apt descriptor, but neither would I say that it's Asian fusion. It's maybe good for people who are Chinese food curious and want to advance beyond Chinese-American but don't want to venture too far into unfamiliar territory. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms

    PRAWN & CHIVE DUMPLINGS

We love the food here, so came for lunch. I ended up seating myself and didn't see a host till she walked in 10 min later. Then waited to order. Soft shell crab fried rice was great as usual, and good prawn and chive dumplings. We finally had to go ask for our check and take it to her in order to leave. There were only 1 or 2 other tables there while we were.

    VEGGIE DUMPLINGS were delicious!

Wow! Big portions, flavor galore, such a great meal and worth every penny! I came here with my friend who's vegan, and we both agreed this place was great! She was also happy there were several vegan options for her. Must get: the carrot and cabbage dumplings were amazing, wonderful presentation and exploding with flavor that was well balanced. We split the dumplings but I could've ate the order myself. However, the star was the Pacific cod with sour mustard greens. The fish was perfectly cooked, flaky and melted in your mouth. It was in sichuan chili oil and came with cabbage and picked mustard greens. Such a wonderful dish. You have to order it if you come here. You won't be disappointed. You may want to order a side a rice or if you want to eat it with something other than the veggies. The garlic 3-way fried rice was also tasty. If you love garlic this dish is for you. I would rank it third out of all the dishes we tried but it was still very tasty. It's a big portion size so enough for two people. I ate it with the cod and it was lovely. It is a bit spicy, so beware if you can't handle spice. 10/10 would recommend coming here. Great restaurant!

We came out of state to go here since it was on the way near the Space Needle. We had pretty high expectations because the pictures were great. We got the baby back ribs and the soft crab curry fried rice. The ribs tasted like candy because it was hard rather than falling off the bone type of ribs. The sauce was extra sweet which caught us off guard since we weren't used to it. It could be an acquired taste for some. The fried rice was really good and the crab was my favorite. It was so crunchy and tasty. Lots of flavor. The only thing I would say is that it gets salty towards the bottom of the rice and the lotus roots are crunchy which I felt was random in the rice. The waiters though were very nice and sweet. Came by to check on us. The place had great ambience too

    MUSHROOM BUN

The ambiance is dark, moody, and sexy. Dim lighting and bookshelves with decor. Lots of black decor. It looks like a great date night spot. We walked in pretty soon after they opened. So we were lucky enough to get a table without reservation. The place quickly filled up by the time we left. The two women working the bar/hostess stand were very friendly. We ordered the thrice cooked pork belly, soft crab fried rice, mushroom buns, and one drink. The total came out to about $90 after tax and tip. The buns were generously stuffed. I really enjoyed them but recognize that the green sauce isn't for everyone. I'd highly recommend ordering some sort of carb like rice to go with the pork belly. It helped to balance out the flavors. Otherwise it can be too much eating it as is. The soft shell crab curry fried rice was my favorite of the night. The crab was tasty! It was also mild enough to pair well with the pork belly. Dessert menu coming soon. I see why this place is trending and popular!

Beautiful ambience, YUMMY FOOD, AMAZING SERVER!!! Michael held it DOWNNN!!! There was a big rush when we came, but we got seated, helped through the whole menu, was very attentive to my allergies, IN THE MIDDLE OF A RUSH!! We saw him running the front, the tables, AND THE BAR?? Not to mention, the drinks were so good taste like juice . He was so funny and personable we had a good laugh and conversation. Ok but also the food was really good! Dumplings were ginormous, Dan Dan noodles were well balanced with its sichuan, and the BUNS!!! The TEXTURE?? It was so crispy and similar to meat somehow (we got the tempura mushroom buns) it was so good. ANDDDD!!! WE GOT SHOTS ON THE HOUSE!!! THANK YOU MICHAEL!!! (I hope that's how you spell his name) 10/10 give him a raise

Friendly and fast service in a clean and appealing dining space. Quality ingredients and presentation but best for those who enjoy spicy food. I prefer the ability to choose a spice level and wish the menu had more variety of flavor profiles in the sauces.

I had lived in Beijing for 8 years and spoke pretty good mandarin for a 老外 so I ordered for us. Our waitress, one of two sisters who ran the place, I call her 陈大姐, said to me, Wow, you can speak Chinese! You must be very smart! I replied, You must be very smart. You can speak Chinese! At first she didn't know what to say but then laughed. It was the beginning of a lovely relationship. However since the pandemic we had not been back. Perhaps yesterday we were in the spirit of celebrating the Spring Festival. We decided to go there. What a great choice! 陈大姐 by coincidence was working. She retired years ago. (Her sister opened another 老四川 in Bellevue but unfortunately has since passed away.) 陈大姐 immediately recognized us. She remembered our son and other family members who often joined us there. It felt like old friends getting together again. Unfortunately my wife and I were the only ones in our little group. It's better to have more people so you can order more dishes. We only got 4 dishes, 宫保鱼, 椒盐虾,干煸四季豆, 夫妻肺片。Gong bao fish, salt and pepper shrimp, green beans and "husband and wife lung strips"! Actually that's a beef and tendon appetizer. Everything tasted just like we remember. Well, the fish dish was wetter than before but still tasty. Flavors are authentic but a little toned down from the Sichuan food in China and in a few other local restaurants. The main flavor of Sichuan cuisine is 麻辣 or spicy numbing. It's not really so hot as it is numbing. Your lips tingle. Most people who didn't grow up with this aren't big fans. Their 水煮肉 or 水煮鱼 comes pretty close though. Leftovers with either of those and leftover rice plus whatever make the very best 烩饭, huifan! Just boil it. We arrived there early and there were just a few other customers eating. And they left soon after. So it was just us and a steady stream of delivery drivers coming in to pick up food to go. I would consider ordering on line like that but this food doesn't hold up well over the distance to our home. Although the interior had been remodeled since our last visit, the decor is fairly stark. Combine that with the location in a strip mall on the corner of Jackson and 12th, which has seen better days, ambience isn't a real draw. However if what you want is a very good meal at reasonable prices then you should go to the Sichuanese Cuisine restaurant in Seattle. (I prefer it to the one in Bellevue.) Too bad you probably won't get to meet 陈大姐。Now that we know the food is still great, we will return.

Since it is a small establishment, I am a bit hesitant to give it three stars, but it was underwhelming compared to what I had expected after reading rave reviews. The inside was very welcoming to me; it was homey, giving similar vibes to my grandma's home/kitchen. There is very limited seating. FOOD: The food is definitely fresh and authentic, but I think I just prefer stronger, bolder flavors. The food here was very light and had a sort of healthy taste to it? Pan Fried Dumplings (3.5/5) - The fried dumpling skin had a nice texture to it, and the filling was juicy. It was okay; I didn't have strong feelings about it. Pork and Chive Dumplings with Hot and Spicy Sauce (3/5) - From the name, I was expecting a stronger flavor. The sauce was on a milder, vinegary side, so I was rather disappointed. Xiao Long Bao (4/5) - Juicy and came out piping hot (as reflected by the steam blurring my photos of it). Probably my favorite thing from what we ordered. Would've paired nicely with some ginger, but I forgot to ask if that was available. Szechuan Beef Noodle with Soup (3/5) - A cleaner, slightly herbal type of broth compared to what I am used to. SERVICE: The person helping us was nice. I don't know if they were having an off day, but it took a really long time for us to receive our food, despite it not being busy. The prices and portions here are really reasonable. Note that they only take cash or Venmo payments. TLDR// Being transparent, I found this place to be a bit underwhelming, but maybe I came in with too high of expectations. I would still recommend trying it to see if it's your cup of tea. Our server was really nice and provided refills quickly, as well as offered to put in more broth. The sauce bar is pretty good. There are some appetizers there too. We got the lamb and beef combo, as well as pork belly. All of them tasted great. Ambience is really nice. Very nicely decorated. It does make me really sad to see such a great restaurant sit so emptily, likely due to its location.

Selected the healthy mushroom broth and the pork bone broth. Both were just okay not a lot of flavor, but not too salty. We both got the sauce bar too. Also included some chicken feet, a Thai chicken gizzards and celery dish, fungus, two different kinds of soup, and cantaloupe and grapes. You can go up to the sauce bar Unlimited times. Restaurant was tidy and clean, service was very good and cordial Free parking for two hours on the 3rd floor, but a bit sketchy. The restaurant is on level 2c. Kind of hard to find cause the over the door signage says Bite of China in big letters and Pipa Mountain Hot pot in small print Food was okay portion size of meat combo was generous. Might go back again.

Our dining experience began with cold appetizers, including a mixed black fungus dish with a satisfying crunch and tangy vinegar flavor, alongside pickled lotus root vegetables with a garlicky and subtly spicy taste. For our main courses, we opted for the Deep Fried Fish Szechuan Style, which was filled with cod fish, had a lighter batter coating, and a pleasing crunch, but beware of its savory and fiery flavor, which intensifies after several bites. We also selected the Szechuan Hometown Tofu, which offered our taste buds a savory flavor, enhanced by chili sauce, a crunchy exterior, and a soft, silky interior. On the side, we ordered a bowl of steamed purple rice and white rice. This exceptional culinary experience combines the perfect balance of crunchiness, chili spice, garlicky freshness, and sweetness, rich flavors of Szechuan cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic Szechuan-style dining experience.

It is a huge portion but it is completely devoid of any flavor whatsoever. Usually onions add something but that did not help. I don't know how you can mess up noodles but no one in my family would eat them and there is one person in my family that will manage to eat almost anything and they refused. The sweet and sour chicken was drowning in sauce even though we asked more than once for the sauce to be on the side. We liked the bell peppers and onions in the sauce. The chicken pieces were of decent size. I did not care for the sauce. The white rice was well made and fluffy. The rice was probably the best part of the dish. About an hour later, we ended up throwing up the food. A complete waste of $31 dollars (which is pricey for what was supposed to be a lunch special). Also, vegetable chow mein and chicken chow mein is the same price which we found out after we had paid. Lunch is pictured and mention to include soup BUT you only get soup if you dine in. The place looked clean the the people seemed friendly. We may give them one more chance bc of the friendly service.
