Patio seating looking out to the center of the village

We popped into Turtle Shack for an easy Saturday night dinner, and it ended up being one of those "mostly good, one miss" meals -- which happens, even at spots we enjoy. Daniel ordered the evening special, a Stir-Fry ($25), and unfortunately it just didn't deliver. It was very rice-heavy with only a small amount of meat and veggies, so the portion didn't feel worth the price. The Thai-style sauce had an off flavor, and as he ate, a faint burnt taste came through -- almost like the bottom of the pan had scorched and the flavor carried through the dish. Not terrible, just disappointing. Daniel said he'll stick to the dishes he already knows and likes here. Ella stayed loyal to her usual Turtle Shack Chicken Sandwich ($17). She's picky, and this is the one menu item she consistently enjoys under $20, so it remains her go-to. I ordered the Bacon & Blue Chips (about $14), which were still a win. Shareable portion, plenty of blue cheese, and that balsamic drizzle is chef's kiss. Easily the highlight of the night. Service was casual but attentive, which fits the vibe. Even on a busy Saturday evening, we were seated right away. The relaxed outdoor atmosphere was ideal for dinner with our 14-lb Maltipoo. They do have indoor seating, but we've always chosen outside -- the weather and courtyard energy make it an easy yes. Live music in the center of the Village added a nice touch. Parking at European Village is usually easy, but expect a short walk. You can drop off closer if needed, but one way or another, plan on a little stroll into the courtyard and to whichever spot you choose. We've been here many times and we'll keep coming back -- it's the kind of casual place where even your dog settles in like a local. Just maybe skip the stir-fry special next time. And if you haven't explored European Village itself, it's worth the wander: American, Indian, Italian, and Japanese/Sushi options, plus boutiques (clothing, jewelry, art), bars, and even a cigar lounge.

What!!?? A cool little place hidden in the center of a condo complex !!? Love the vibe, the happy employees , the tunes & the food!! We just stopped for a snack .. had a beer ( which due to their extensive list took awhile) and we ordered the smoked wings & calamari! Both were excellent !! The calamari is thick & tender & looks like French fries ... do not let the look deceive you .. it's tender & amazing! Who knew calamari didn't have to be eaten with tentacles and a rubber like texture!!?? Take a turn off the coast and come here!! You won't regret it..

They have now opened a temporary location at the European Village next to the 5th Element Indian Restaurant in Palm Coast. I think there used to be a distillery there. This location will be open until the repairs are completed at the original location on Flagler Beach and may even become a 2nd location. Same original menu and the place was already getting packed!

Many family memories made at their old location on the beach! Can't wait to visit their new location next time we are in town.

Nice atmosphere, food was ok but was lacking in flavor. Would return, but would probably stick to appetizers and drinks. Staff were friendly and attentive.

My wife and I had dinner at the Turtle Shack in the European Village in Palm Coast FL the other evening. A few details why I give a 4 star rating. The picture attached should explain the first reason. Our food was out of this world good. Wifey had the blackened Mahi sandwich. Perfect cook on the fish and the seasoning was nice a spicy. I had their signature chicken sandwich. Loved it, love their coleslaw too !!!! Second reason for the 4 stars was our server/bartender Teresa. She was very busy but, very attentive !!!! Very good at her craft !!! Why not 5 stars then ????? We thought $13 for a glass of house wine was a bit much. Especially in our area. If the management sees my review perhaps you could re-think that price point.

Not many people out n about so I couldn't really get a vibe for what the place would be like when it gets busy. But it was a great spot for breakfast and we sat on the rooftop area inside so it was covered from the rain, but I can't wait to go back someday for the outside ocean front deck, even closer to the water. I ordered the Irish Benedicte with hash that is homemade on premise with slow roasted corned beef. Very tasty. The side of Home fries were thinly sliced and I had gravy added to that so it was tasty too. Our server was excellent, Trevor was a very nice guy and he recommended we come back for the all you can eat ribs. I wish I was staying in town longer and I would. I'll make a point to come back next visit.

The manager took our 2 dishes off of our bill. What's outrageous is that they charge a 2.9% service fee when using a credit/debit card. That's not posted anywhere. Our server,Sage, she was sweet. Will we go back? Definitely no. Too many other places to try.

Second visit to Next Door Beach Bistro and once again -- phenomenal…read more Last night I ordered the Beef Bourguignon with cream potatoes, and it was everything this classic French dish should be. The beef was incredibly tender, slow-braised in a rich red wine reduction with pearl onions and mushrooms. The cream potatoes underneath were smooth, buttery, and perfect for soaking up that sauce. Every bite was delicious. We started with the Filet Carpaccio, thinly sliced and topped with shaved parmesan, capers, arugula, and crostini. Fresh, light, and beautifully plated. The bar program deserves its own mention. You can order a vodka soda anywhere, but here they elevate every drink with presentation and detail. Instead of a simple lime wedge, I watched drinks come out with full lime rounds resting on the rim. My Chocolate Martini dessert drink was practically artwork -- topped with a dehydrated orange slice, chocolate shavings, orange zest, and crossed chocolate-dipped sticks. It looked incredible and tasted even better. Atmosphere is another win here. Guests ranged from cocktail dresses to casual beachside attire and somehow it all fit perfectly. That balance is hard to achieve, but they've nailed it. We sat on the patio (about 67°) and they had the panels down, which kept it comfortable while still letting you enjoy the beachside atmosphere. Even the hallway to the restrooms was lined with art -- thoughtful details everywhere. Some restaurants look great but don't deliver on flavor. Others taste great but lack atmosphere. This place does both exceptionally well. Dinner for two with drinks came to $131 before tip, which felt very fair for the quality of food, cocktails, and overall experience. Looking forward to visit number three.

The drink menu has so many good options. We tried the espresso martini, lavender martini and an extra dirty martini. All were delicious! The ambiance was really nice. They played a great mix of top 40. Lights were kept low and the seating was comfortable. Tables were close but not on top of each other. I took advantage of their prix fixe weekday special. It was such a great deal! Available Sunday through Thursday 3 to close. I had the lobster bisque that comes with a delicious sliced baguette and the sherry on the side, the salmon frites for the entree which was amazing and the chocolate mousse for dessert. All of this was $39! The quality and care that goes into their dishes is evident. I can't wait to go back and try their seafood pot pie! Service was great! My friend Angela suggested we try Palm Harbor Grill, where she's had good experiences in the past. The restaurant is located in a strip mall alongside other spots and appears to have been recently renovated. Inside was clean, organized, and nicely decorated. Our waiter, George, was friendly, down-to-earth, and very accommodating. He also spoke Portuguese, which made it easy for Angela to communicate. The menu was just okay. While it offered traditional Portuguese dishes, it also included Italian options, which felt a little out of place for a restaurant presenting itself as Portuguese cuisine. We started with the octopus in garlic sauce 5/5. It was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Easily the highlight of the meal. The shrimp in garlic sauce, served with Portuguese chips and white rice, was a bit of a letdown 2/5. There was very little sauce for the shrimp to soak up, and the flavor just didn't hit the mark. The biggest disappointment was the grilled Portuguese sausage 0/5. It was fatty, cold when served, and honestly inedible. George tried three times to warm it up for us. What made it more frustrating was watching other tables receive theirs flambéed tableside. Ours came out pre-cut and at what felt like refrigerated temperature. When we asked why ours wasn't served the same way, we were told that presentation style costs an additional $6. Really? I had the sangria, which was enjoyable though slightly on the sweeter side 3.5/5. Overall, I truly wish this experience had been better, especially considering the drive to Palm Coast from Jacksonville. I was hoping for a taste of home, but unfortunately, it fell short this time.
