True installed our security system a couple of years ago and it has reliably and consistently worked for us without any failures at all. We monitor our system over WiFi and remotely over the internet and use third-party software to do so. When that software company pushed an update in October, we lost remote connectivity and Sean at True was quick to answer our call for help. He advised us that when we upgraded our internet equipment to accommodate increased speeds we'd likely need to go through this process all over again. He was right but this time it wasn't such a simple fix. After literally hours on the phone, Sean scheduled a tech to come out to our home to make the necessary adjustments as our ISP blocked our ability to use TeamViewer making an in-person appointment necessary. We incurred a cursory trip charge from San Antonio to Austin, but it was worth it. Ivan arrived on time and had most of the issues resolved within 30 minutes. There was one which couldn't be resolved as we'd made too many attempts in too short a time and required us to wait 30 mins to make the fix. I assured Ivan that I could do it but if that turned out not to be the case it was simple enough to resolve remotely. I could not resolve that last issue so I called True and they scheduled a remote call with Sean for the next morning. After 2 hours of work things finally got resolved and all systems were functioning as they were supposed to and our monitoring was back to perfect. I know this is a long review but I wanted to be sure to convey the dedication of the True team and how they stuck with the problem, not caused by their equipment or software, to resolution. I highly recommend True Protection and will likely be using them for other projects in the future. read more

They did a great job with the install and I'm very happy with the alarm system itself (it has an app that allows me to arm/disarm from my phone which is great). I had an ADT alarm system set up in my house almost four years ago, but with all the new devices and apps for controlling my system with my iPhone I wanted updates. Unfortunately I couldn't afford them through ADT and when they were charging me $65 per month for what I had I started looking else where. He could have said anything to me and I wouldn't have know the difference, but he was the most honest salesman I've ever met. So I signed up! My new system is amazing I have everything and more then what I originally wanted. I called 2 security companies who had good reviews - the first one went to voicemail and the second one - John Jarvis picked up right away. I'd been warned about dealing with security companies, so I was fully prepared to deal with the used car salesman push. Nothing could be further from how John works. We spent some time talking about my situation, needs, etc. and we set up a free appointment. I already felt comfortable with John by phone, but in person, he was even better. Professional, smart, considerate, nice - I can't say enough about John. He explained what he was doing while he was installing the equipment and when he was finished, he took time to thoroughly explain the system - which is awesome. The wall unit is like a mini-tablet - looks great and it's intuitive. John demonstrated the funtionality, made sure I was comfortable with it and then he showed me how the key fob works. He sat with me while I registered my passwords, etc. on their secure website (not looking when I was inputting my code words, etc, of course) and then he showed me all of the features of their website to check your history. He also walked me through the easy to use app. The equipement looks and works great, but the biggest thing was that John Jarvis couldn't have been a better provider. He even gave me his personal cell phone number. I'm not special - he does that for all of his clients so that you can reach him at any time. I think that the reason he's able to do that is because the equipement and service is so solid that I can't see a reason I'd need to call him. But it was comforting to know that I can. I've had multiple fantastic experiences with True Protection. We moved into a new home in early 2016 and immediately had multiple ADT solicitors within a week of moving in. They seemed shocked that we wouldn't let a complete stranger whom we've never met or never asked into our home. The entire experience was sketchy at best so I called John Jarvis after seeing all of the positive feedback on here. John walked us through the entire system and was able to take over the existing security system with ease. We recently had all new windows installed which means new window sensors. John had a technician out the same day as the windows were completed to ensure our home was never without security. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for new security system stickers. Less than a week later we had a failed break-in. Thanks entirely to the fantastic security system installed by True Protection. I contacted John immediately to let him know the system worked as designed and requested some new window stickers for the new windows. Within 5 minutes John had some in the mail for me. I am absolutely floored at how amazing my security installation went. From start to finish, it was very easy and efficient, with a lot of neat options (such as auto door locks, auto lamp dimmers with variations in time so it's unpredictable, garage door control, touch-screen security panel, multiple types of door chimes to choose from, automation from a laptop or smart phone, etc.). John Jarvis came out to install everything, and he walked us through each feature of the system so we weren't left wondering how the heck to use it. AND the system is very user friendly, so I believe most people can catch on very quickly. You can add approx 30+ additional temporary codes for such people as house cleaners, pet sitters, house sitters, etc., and then view online if/when they showed up and when they left. Our house was already wired for a really "old" security system, and John was able to re-program what we had to fit with what we wanted for our home... even adding a fire alarm detector (our fire alarms have been wired into each other throughout the home), so that if a fire alarm goes off, the security system automatically dials the Fire Department for dispatch. This is a great feature, especially if we would ever be out of the house (work, vacation, etc.) during a fire. There is also a severe weather advisory warning on the panel, which would come in handy during a tornado in the middle of the night while we are sleeping (this very feature helped to save lives in Oklahoma). While we don't get very many tornadoes in Texas, it's still a nice (free!) feature to have. I would definitely recommend this company above every other security company I have ever used. Very efficient, thorough, knowledgeable, affordable!!!, and enthusiastic about customer care. I would not hesitate to recommend True Protection to all of my friends, neighbors, family members who are looking for a security system for their home. read more
