My home had no ethernet wiring and I wanted to wire up a…read morebunch of POE cameras and also provide 10GBE to ethernet jacks upstairs and in my office as well as add 2 10GBE APs for my ubiquiti setup. Eric's quote was reasonable, well thought out and easy to understand. Of the 4 bids I requested, Wire Genie came in the middle in price but Eric was heads and above in his consideration and scoping of the task whereas many other installers seemed to be guestimating effort. Eric had a number of helpful suggestions both from camera positioning to running lines for future use and he did a phenomenal job on running a POE Doorbell camera behind brickwork and only needing one access cut that, at his suggestion, we put a 2-outlet blank faceplate over for future access/maintenance if needed. All cables were carefully labeled and terminated into my server rack patch panel. Awesome work!

Eric is now that guy for me with networking. My home has never had good internet. It was built before internet was much of a thing, it's stone, has radiant barrier, outdated connections, nonstandard shape, etc. I prepped Eric for these challenges among others and told him I had very high standards. He was undeterred and we set up a consultation. Eric had to have really impressed me, as I let him drill through stone which is highly uncharacteristic of me. I now have rock solid WiFi both inside and outside my house ~600Mbps for an extended distance and constant speeds over Ethernet even faster than that. I highly recommend Eric to bring an old home up to modern technological standards.

We did encounter some issues, however, Matt had his team work with us to correct them as we encountered them (i.e. faulty pre-wire causing false-positives on the alarm). I was really looking forward to a beautiful flush mount install of our TVs in every room (especially the living, game, and media rooms) and he delivered. They left me with audio not syncing to lips and I had to spend a considerable amount of time playing with the marantz amp, Gemini AI and tv to 'fix it'. My Bravío 9 tv picture and adjustments might have been configured. Or not. Who knows? I don't use this space a lot so was looking for a turn key solution. I had suggested another amp and they said you get this one without telling me why I wanted it. I ended up researching and overall the wattage is better and the receiver is better for my system but no one took the time to communicate the why on equipment. I felt like they were a better option then Best Buy install but ultimately left lacking. If I have a question today about the system i wouldn't feel comfortable reaching out with questions. This install was right before the Super Bowl.

We spoke with several companies, both big national providers and smaller local ones, and ultimately went with Securimax. What stood out was their local presence and the hands-on approach, especially from Jack, the CEO. The installation itself was fairly involved and took most of the day, but everything was handled smoothly and professionally. Since then, their service has continued to impress. They're very responsive whenever we have questions and have been flexible in helping us adjust or expand the system as our needs evolve. Overall, it's been a really positive experience.

Absolutely the worst company I've ever dealt with!…read more I hired this security company thinking I was protecting my home, but instead I got stress, wasted money, and zero accountability. The installer showed up late, seemed completely unprepared, and didn't even know how the system was supposed to work. Sensors were crooked and one camera works only sometimes. When I asked about it, I was told "that's how I was told to do it" and "most people think it's ok". The system went offline multiple times, including once while we were out of town. What's the point of paying for the services if it doesn't work when you need it most? Customer service is a joke. Calls go unanswered and when someone finally responds, they act like you are the problem. Every issue was blamed on my internet, my phone, or "user error," even though the system wasn't working rights from day one. How is it my fault when the app says that a camera is offline? What am I supposed to do but contact them. I pay them monthly for the service, so if something says it is not working then I think it's reasonable to say I can call them. What is not reasonable is for there to be no customer service when the system is malfunctioning. To make matters worse, I was locked into a contract and threatened with cancellation fees instead of offered real support or a fix. If you care about your safety, your money, or your sanity, stay far away from this company. I regret ever signing up. I thought I was doing good by going with a small company, but I should have called ADT, Vivint, or someone bigger.

I was not expecting such a prompt response nor availability on Sunday to do a service call but they showed up right on time! Very nice, professional and knowledgeable and after quickly assessing the problem and the overall gate setup I had they were able to fix the problem and recommend things to watch in future. No rush or upselling and only charged me a reasonable service fee. Will definitely be calling for future needs.

After researching equipment I found that ALP offered one of two A/V receiver brands, the Audio Control AVR series, that could compensate for the difficult aspects of the room (wood floors, lots of glass, open kitchen concept) because they can be calibrated with DIRAC. Able came to my home to access the situation and concluded the receiver and calibration would definitely improve my stereo sound and modestly improve my surround sound. After installation I realized a dramatic improvement in both! The ALP team also installed a motorized fireplace mount (very cool!), and reconfigured all of my other A/V equipment for the best connections to the new AVR-9 receiver. Excellent job! The consultation was free of any sales pitch, the installation and calibration was done by genuine experts in the most professional manner. Although I usually DIY, in this instance it really paid to have such professionals do the thinking and all the work. Chris and Mason came to the door and spent a couple hours figuring out the problem that had stumped that other electrician. My house is old and some things done by previous owners were problematic like having that circuit powered by two breakers. They fixed that problem, fixed the outlets and installed a new breaker. The first time he helped us change multiple locks after a move-in, plus he adjusted a very crooked doorknob and put in a peephole at a height accessible for a wheelchair user. (I really appreciated that he asked me for my input and had me test the height before drilling. He never once commented on or asked about my disability, just treating me with friendly respect like any other customer.) He also tried to rework a smaller lock system for us with multiple trips to the hardware store and was honest with us about why it wouldn't be possible, with suggestions for what else to try that was beyond his scope. Though I suspect that was frustrating for him, he never got angry but stayed level-headed and kind. Weeks later he came by to fix a mistake I made in buying an extra key at the Minute Key at the hardware store. Though he'd given us plenty of good quality extra keys, I was tempted by the pretty design. I had even splurged on whatever extra pricey service the Minute Key offered to buff the edges of the key so it'd be "guaranteed" to work better. And what did it do? The very first time I put it in the lock, it got so stuck it wouldn't even turn! A family member experienced in these things tried graphite on it and it wouldn't budge, but I knew John would be able to help. He came out promptly, didn't give me a lecture or anything about using the Minute Key (I was already so embarrassed) and made sure I knew he could always provide me with good quality extra keys. After he got the bad key out, he did a good job explaining why the lock was technically useable but might be damaged and at risk for getting stuck again. He knew we're on a budget, so I appreciated having an affordable option with the risks explained, but in the end I decided to have him re-install a new deadbolt. He got the job done quickly and carefully at a very reasonable price. I feel safer with new locks in place and also safer knowing John is just a text or call away if I make another mistake (though I promise I've learned my lesson)! Thanks, John!

We rarely write reviews, but when a company stands out and really cares about providing OUTSTANDING customer service, product and clean installation, we wanted to let future customers know of our experience. We just moved into a new home in Round Rock, TX wanting security for our family and home. We called many alarm companies to install a security system. One of the calls was to True Protection and spoke with John Jarvis to setup an appointment. John was by far the most professional, on-time, so accommodating, very knowledgeable and honest person we met with. We knew True Protection was the right home security company for us, giving us a peace of mind and protection we needed. John Jarvis did our installation the very next day. The security system John recommended was a nice looking LCD touch pad. John walked us through on how easy our new alarm system was to use and it was easy! John even came back out when our builder workers finished some touch up paint in our new home and painted over our back door alarm detector. We called John to tell him what happen, he came over right way and replaced the alarm detector on our backdoor...no problem. They really care about their customers!!! We've received exceptional service from the True Protection team from start to finish. John Jarvis called me directly as the first point of contact and put me at ease right away with his knowledge of my neighborhood and how my house was wired (some of my neighbors are his existing customers and our houses were pre-wired the same way). Our first call happened before a holiday, and John was kind enough to follow-up the next week to check-in which I appreciated because my husband and I have really been meaning to get a home security system set-up and installed. True Protections 5 star reviews plus John's attention to detail and stellar customer service convinced me to go with their services, but even beyond that we had a great experience during the installation process as well. Chase Hawn was at our home for about 3.5 hours getting everything setup and then making sure to spend ample amount of time with us so that we fully understood how the system worked in conjunction with the alarm.com website and phone app. We were blown away by his knowledge, professionalism and overall level of service. I'd feel very comfortable reaching out to either John or Chase with any questions and I'm pretty sure they would answer my call right away- that's how dedicated they are to their customers. I had someone break into my house and steal all of our TVs and computers. Luckily we were able to track the laptops and we caught the crooks. After it all happened we were unable to sleep at night. The kids and us were having nightmares all of the time thinking that people were breaking in. My husband got a pistol but I thought what good is it if you are asleep and they sneak in. We decided it was time to get a security system. We have a Pit-bull but he could be bought off with a T-bone steak. I wanted something with glass breaking monitors. I found true protection and they seemed to be the best company from reviews that I had read online on Yelp and other review sites. I was impressed by their skills in the customer service department. When I called I spoke to a guy who went over all of my options for the install. I booked that day. The guys came and and hooked it all up. They ran wires and bolted down my cameras. My house is now like Fort Knox. There will be no getting here. The cameras they installed are clear and even have night vision capabilities. I usually just record cats and stray dogs but it is better than bandits. I have one camera that I monitor with my laptop and I can tell if I turned the coffee machine off. Brilliant work gents. My neighbor's house was broken into last week, so I finally decided to stop procrastinating and get some security for my house. After doing extensive research on several different local companies, I decided to call True Protection to get them over to my house and give me a bid. The representative showed up 5 minutes early, and demonstrated extreme professionalism throughout the entire process. I was blown away by all of the cool features that their systems had, and was immediately intrigued by the home automation features that can be incorporated into the alarm system. The system was very reasonably priced, so I went ahead and had it installed yesterday. Not only can I control my alarm system from my smartphone, but I can also control my front door lock, thermostat, and lighting all through the same app. It has only been one day since I had it installed, but so far the system is working flawlessly. The technician also left me his personal cell phone number so that I can call him directly if I ever have any problems. After looking at many online reviews and quoting multiple companies, I decided to go with True Protection. I couldn't have been happier with the decision! John was extremely professional, provided the most cost-effective plan, offered wonderful support to educate me on the system, linked everything (alarm, door cam, remote light switches) to my phone for me, and most importantly, has made me feel very safe in my home. The guy who came to install the system (I can't remember his name) was also great! Everything has worked perfectly and gone smoothly since day 1, and I feel like I got a GREAT deal. I added the door cam, which has already come in handy on many occasions (BTW- this perk is only $5 more a month tacked onto the standard contract, and they give you a camera! That's SO low compared to other companies). Also, these guys don't just leave you high and dry once the ink is dry on the contract... John gives out his personal number for questions/concerns. I should have written this review two years ago when True Protection first installed my home security system - silly me. I first purchased my home two years ago and was a novice at all things home-related. I asked around to coworkers who were more experienced than I and the consensus was clear: I had to use True Protection for my home security system. And I'm glad I did. John at True Protection is a real treasure. He answered promptly, asked thoughtful questions, and was able to set up an appointment with me quickly. He sent a fine young gentleman to my home who was very thorough and made sure that I felt comfortable using my new home security system. In times when technicians were unavailable, John would personally come to my house to make sure the job was done, which makes me feel safe and reassured in my decision. Choosing a home security system is a delicate yet important task, and True Protection is 100% the right decision. I have never used True Protections tech support until yesterday. I had worked with Brinks to reset up my doorbell camera 2 times and nothing worked. I got on the phone with Chris from out of the Austin Area(I found out his location only by accident) and knew right away between the both of us the problem was going to be solved. We started at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon when people should have been headed out for the weekend. He was not in a rush at all & told me we will get my doorbell up and running. I was impressed that he did not rush me as I went thru adding the MAC address, adding Skybell again, resetting the doorbell on the outside of the house, reloading the doorbell on my phone & laptop, connecting everything together. It took all of 30 minutes and we got everything up and working beautifully. I'm thankful to have worked with Chris @ True Protection and they will be my first call if I have another issue. Great customer service! Brett did a fantastic job answering all my questions, and explaining their service. If have a cat and was one of the things he noticed immediately. And he explained how their system is pet friendly. After we did a thorough walk through of my home, I decided to get the system with cameras and definitely have no regrets. Ivan came out and installed everything in about half a day. Have not had any issue with it. And he did not leave a mess like some people do. He even offered advice on how to wire my Ring doorbell, which isn't even one of their productions. Just shows you how great their customer service is. Their price for the service is better than most companies. I was with Vivint before and I am definitely getting better bang for my buck with True Protection. Overall, I think the their system is top notch and their team are pros. Definitely go with True Protection! read more

True Protection has been wonderful to work with. I initially heard about them from my office manager so we set up a meeting with John Jarvis to discuss the various options to help secure my business. John was quite knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and made sure, after the installation was complete, that we were all more than comfortable with using it. After using the system for several months at work and feeling quite comfortable with the added safety and security, I called John to walk me through the options in my home. I'm very thorough when researching and picking out new products and services. After speaking to a handful of security companies I found True Protect VERY refreshing. They were personable, to the point, and did not push sales on me like some of their competitors. Their team was able to get someone out to my house the day I called and got the system installed right away. True Protection offered me a great package at a very reasonable price. The security system itself looks very high tech and is extremely easy to use! The features offered work really well for us. I just moved from Dallas to Austin. We had ADT at our old home and was very dissatisfied. True Protection had the best reviews online in the area so I thought I'd give them a call and check out their products. I talked to John Jarvis and you would have thought this guy invented home security. Very professional over the phone and even came onsite at my new home to check out the pre-wired system. We added a doorbell camera and an automated door lock to the system so we could see these features on our Alarm.com app. The technician was excellent. The equipment is very modern looking and works perfect. Zero complaints with this company. I had my security system and the security cameras installed from John. He is really good at his job and he knows what the client is looking for. My situation was tricky since I was in a budget, but John was able to work within my budget to make it happen. The installation was top notch and the quality of the cameras installed is very good. You can barely see the cameras under the roof, nit those protruding cameras which are ugly and unseemly. I am impressed by how John runs his business. I would highly recommend his security company for security needs. I also want to point out that there was a small hiccup during installation, but John was very professional and he managed the situation with utmost sincerity and honesty. read more

True Protection definitely earns a five star rating! They gave us an in home estimate with an informative consultation, outlining the most efficient and cost effective manner to secure our home. Our new system is state of the art and yet incredibly simple to use. John Jarvis did an excellent job with our installation, as well as taking the time to patiently walk us through the basic steps of operating our completely amazing system. We highly recommend True Protection for their customer service, professionalism and expedient installation process. We have used other companies in the past that absolutely pale in comparison. I spoke with several other security companies before deciding on True Protection, and I'm so glad I did. I have received excellent customer service and William, who installed my system, is an excellent technician. I hope the company knows what an asset William is to customers like me who expect professional, courteous customer service. He is very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure the alarm system works perfectly, and that I understand how to operate it. After shopping multiple companies for my client's home I decided to go with True Protection. John was very detailed and informative during the estimate which is great considering this was the first security system I have shopped for. We did run into some scheduling issues which both Alex and John were very responsive and delivered outstanding customer service. John and his team at True Protection are first rate - John assessed our home, explained in detail what features would work best, why some of our "wants" were not needed while suggesting new items we had not had in previous systems. We are very pleased. He and his installation team are great, very helpful, neat and extremely patient when training on the system. We have made a few add-ons in the last month or so and they are always there to accommodate and re-train. The system is quite comprehensive and the monitoring company seems very good. This is literally the worst alarm company in the world. I have no idea why the positive reviews. Believe it or not, ADT is better. Maybe management changed? I've been with them for 2 years (stuck in their contract) until they pawned me off on brinks security. Their equipment has never, never, ever worked. They've come to my house dozens of times with people that obviously have no idea what they're doing. My alarm cannot be armed outside of the app. Every single physical alarm panel does this. FrontPoint always provided the panel's battery replacement and new sensors for free, forget about it with Alert360. Whenever I tried to contact them to get assistance or to talk to a representative it took me about 30 minutes to be able to find a phone number to call them. Once I had them on the phone their assistance was of no help, some of the agents were even curt and didn't see to care about my issue. For financial reasons I had to cancel the service, last thing I remembered I was told with FrontPoint that there were no contracts and could cancel at any time without problems. Well, since moving to Alert360 it seems that one is under a contract since you have to give them 30 days notice to cancel or else you will be charged. Since I cancelled at the beginning of September they charged me for the month, ok that's fine, but I gave them my notification before October and guess what?! They went ahead and charged me for the month with no service! Ha! I called them twice to get the charge refunded (the woman that answered was pretty rude by the way), last agent I spoke to told me the refund should've been made right away on my first call! He said the refund would be posted in my back account within 5-7 days...it's already half month and no amount has been refunded so I had to dispute the charge which is still in process. Please don't trust this people and their business practices, they will screw you up any chance they get and you won't see a penny if you are asking for money back! **UPDATE: I received a call from one their representatives on October 29 telling me they had sent me a check on October 16 and I should get it shortly. Well, it is now November 7 and I still haven't received any check yet. I submitted a review at the ConsumerAffairs website and the BBB. My bank is also disputing and investigating this issue. I still don't recommend them and wouldn't go back to them even if their service was free... **UPDATE (11/22/24): The company called me to tell me that the check they had sent went back to them due to them missing to write down the apartment number (you would think they have the complete address since they're a security systems company! The irony!), fine, I gave the correct address and the agent says they'll resent the check. Next day, I received another call saying they couldn't send the check since they don't have the complete address! This company is just joking with me at this point! What type of training is the staff getting? They don't know how to write down notes in one's file??? It's ridiculous, a joke and a waste of time! My bank still dealing with the dispute (about two months ongoing now!) which they shouldn't have to...shm. I have updated every single complaint I put out there about this company (Google, Yahoo, BBB, Consumer Affairs, Yelp, etc.) so people will realize the kind of business this is and to PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND FIND SOMETHING BETTER!

Patrick answered when I called for service. It was down to Central Security and another home security company. Patrick explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. I was very appreciative of this because this was my first time owning a home security alarm system. I really love that since this would be my first time, there's no contact. I love that they believe in earning your business instead of being nice upfront and then not having to work to keep your business, because you're trapped in a contract. I signed up with Central Security and paid for my equipment upfront and my cameras. I just pay monthly for the active monitoring. One time after I was approached by another company a few momths after I been with Central Security, I called Patrick and let him know and he let me know he value my business and gave me a fair renegotiation on my monthly fee. The next month I bought another camera and has then install it. I'm also happy to report that the alarm does work I had a false alarm when I was away in away on a windy night and the wind push a an unlocked door open. The police ended showing up and the security center did call. Unfortunately I was sleeping at the time, but it was reassuring to know that the system really does work! I highly recommend Central Security. I've had excellent service, when they came to install the system they were punctual professional and fairly quick. One electrician did the electrical work for the doorbell camera, but quoted thousands of dollars for the outdoor cameras. Ndu and his wife installed and configure the cameras. They took their time and made it look great. Ndu also has all the smart home gadgets himself and knows which products are best. I had Ring cameras before and Nest blows them out of the park.
