We spoke with several companies, both big national providers and smaller local ones, and ultimately went with Securimax. What stood out was their local presence and the hands-on approach, especially from Jack, the CEO. The installation itself was fairly involved and took most of the day, but everything was handled smoothly and professionally. Since then, their service has continued to impress. Absolutely the worst company I've ever dealt with! I hired this security company thinking I was protecting my home, but instead I got stress, wasted money, and zero accountability. The installer showed up late, seemed completely unprepared, and didn't even know how the system was supposed to work. Sensors were crooked and one camera works only sometimes. When I asked about it, I was told "that's how I was told to do it" and "most people think it's ok". The system went offline multiple times, including once while we were out of town. What's the point of paying for the services if it doesn't work when you need it most? Customer service is a joke. Calls go unanswered and when someone finally responds, they act like you are the problem. Every issue was blamed on my internet, my phone, or "user error," even though the system wasn't working rights from day one. How is it my fault when the app says that a camera is offline? What am I supposed to do but contact them. I pay them monthly for the service, so if something says it is not working then I think it's reasonable to say I can call them. What is not reasonable is for there to be no customer service when the system is malfunctioning. To make matters worse, I was locked into a contract and threatened with cancellation fees instead of offered real support or a fix. If you care about your safety, your money, or your sanity, stay far away from this company. I regret ever signing up. I thought I was doing good by going with a small company, but I should have called ADT, Vivint, or someone bigger. read more

On Friday they sent another technician, Andrew, that was quick to address the problem and diagnose the issue with a smile on his face. Let's start with the fact that the owner, Jack Grimm, flat-out lied to me. During our initial sales meeting, I specifically asked where the equipment they install is made. I made it very clear that I did not want any Chinese-made security equipment in my home. Jack looked me in the eye and said--and I quote--"Everything we sell is made in the USA." That turned out to be completely false. A few days ago, I was speaking with a friend who works in the security industry and mentioned that all of my cameras were supposedly made in the USA. He immediately told me that was highly unlikely. He explained that there are very few security cameras actually manufactured in the U.S., and the ones that are tend to be extremely expensive and used only in very specific, high-security applications. He said that most of the time reliable, secure cameras are made in Vietnam or Thailand. So I went and inspected the cameras myself--and sure enough, every single one was clearly labeled "Made in China." This wasn't a mistake or a simple oversight. Jack knew exactly what he was doing. Instead of being upfront and explaining that quality equipment is available from other countries, he chose to lie just to make a sale. A company that lies to gain business is not one you can trust. It's incredibly disappointing, especially coming from someone who bragged about how much experience he had. Honesty and transparency should be the foundation of any business, especially one in the home security industry. I've told my friends and family about this experience, and I'll continue to spread the word. I do not recommend Securimax or Jack Grimm. If a company is willing to lie just to close a deal, what else will they lie about? read more

It's important to know the people who you are paying to protect your home - with the national company I had no clue who I was talking to, nor could I get them to take responsibility or help with a portion of the system that had stopped working. My experience with Securimax could not have been more different. The owner called me back almost immediately to discuss my needs. The next day he sent not only an account representative but he himself came out and checked out our property to help ensure that we got the right system. Our new system was set up the next day! The installation took several hours and the employee connected as much of our existing hardware into the new system as possible. We have had texts and calls from their front office to ensure everything was set up and they were immediately responsive to questions I had post installation about how to best use the devices. I've been searching for a security company since we bought our first house last year and discovered that our next door neighbors have a revolving door of renters with no concern for property or HOA rules. I found this company via a neighborhood Facebook group and after seeing so many complaints about Vivint and ADT screwing over my neighbors in long term contracts they couldn't get out of. I was pleasantly surprised however when the owner Jack actually called and texted me directly, working around my schedule to meet me on a Saturday and spend a quality hour at least with us talking thru what was already installed in the house, how they could tap into it to save money, and what all I needed based on my actual concerns. He was straight forward, helpful, honest and his pricing was super reasonable for the piece of mind. There was no gimmicks or upselling just really make sure we felt happy with our decision. The initial meeting was breezy, but not hard sell. Salesy? Yes, but I expect that. They back right off when you say no to something. This review is overdue but I wanted to make sure everything was working properly for a significant amount of time, so here it is: Jack and his team installed my alarm system ALERT 360 back in October and I couldn't be happier with it. He made sure I had all of the basics covered and explained thoroughly why some upgrades made sense without being pushy. Moreover, he gave me an incredibly good deal for all of it. As for the alarm system itself, it's so easy to use it's dummy-proof. I haven't been in an emergency situation just yet to test the actual police response feature--but I guess that's a good thing! First, this review is long overdue but well worth coming back to ensure it gets completed (life interrupted me a lot). New home purchase (of an existing home) and I wanted a good security system; SecuriMax was recommended and I could not have been happier. Working with Jack, the owner, we were able to come to a negotiated price with multiple options to fit my specific needs. His team was able to use my preexisting wiring and hardware in the house and perform simple upgrades to an 18 year old system that meets the modern day needs. During the process there were some hiccups, but it was NOT with Jack or his team working the issue, it was simply that the manufacturers updated some of their firmware on various components in my setup and SecuriMax had to navigate these updates so that the system would work as expected. Life happens. Technology updates at the most random times. It turns into a learning experience for everyone. In the end, I have a very secure and affordable system that I can feel confident in when I am at home or away.
