I've been with Central Security for almost a year now and my experience has been great. I waited a while to write this review, because I wanted to makes sure the customer service was just as great if I ever had an issue. I found Central Security on Yelp. Patrick answered when I called for service. It was down to Central Security and another home security company. Patrick explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. I was very appreciative of this because this was my first time owning a home security alarm system. I really love that since this would be my first time, there's no contact. I love that they believe in earning your business instead of being nice upfront and then not having to work to keep your business, because you're trapped in a contract. I signed up with Central Security and paid for my equipment upfront and my cameras. I just pay monthly for the active monitoring. One time after I was approached by another company a few momths after I been with Central Security, I called Patrick and let him know and he let me know he value my business and gave me a fair renegotiation on my monthly fee. The next month I bought another camera and has then install it. I'm also happy to report that the alarm does work I had a false alarm when I was away in away on a windy night and the wind push a an unlocked door open. The police ended showing up and the security center did call. Unfortunately I was sleeping at the time, but it was reassuring to know that the system really does work! I highly recommend Central Security. I've had excellent service, when they came to install the system they were punctual professional and fairly quick. Recently after 7 years of monitoring my Austin rental property, I had to let Central Security go due to my selling that property. Anticipating the sell of my house I went on a month to month contract for the alarm service and was very pleased that I still had excellent coverage. Great Service! I had an existing DSC Neo Power Series full wireless system at my old house and when we moved I removed the system from the old house and wanted to reinstall it at my new house which was mostly hard wired devices. We were able to use all of the existing DSC Neo components from the old system. Central Security came over and re-set up & re-programmed the entire system in the new house. After three months the system is working great with no false alarms or other issues. I promptly cancelled my old monitoring service and started a monthly service with Central Security. We have the central monitoring & Alarm.com package so we can arm/disarm remotely and control other things at the house (garage doors, lights, etc..). Overall Russell provided excellent customer service, arrived on time and stayed late until the job was done. read more

Russell is great! The installation took about 4 hours but that's probably because he and his trainee took the time to move all my things (including the cat litter boxes--way beyond what was expected!) and put them back after they were finished. Russell doesn't push unnecessary products or services and there is no long term contract. When I had an issue with the wireless contacts on my windows, he scheduled an appointment to come back out within 24 hours. I'm very happy with my alarm system and would recommend Central Security to anyone. read more

I'm a fairly skeptical person so when I only see 5 star reviews I begin to wonder. I decided I would take a chance and give them a call since I had already dismissed the other home security companies I had called. Most of the other companies wanted me to sign a 1 - 2 year contract and had ridiculous installation fees. When I spoke with Russel, he sounded super genuine and was not pushy at all. He said there was no contract required and I could get setup for a reasonable price. He came out the following week and did the entire install himself in a few hours. He walked me through how to use everything and answered all of my questions. He definitely knows his stuff when it comes to home security. It was nice not having to deal with a huge corporate company like ADT and still get a top of the line alarm system with an excellent monitoring service for half the price and no contract. Going to give you another great review Russell, cause you are the man... Russell came out and took a look at our place to give us a quote for how much the security system would cost. He didn't try to oversell us at all. If anything, he tried to help us save money by selling us exactly what we needed. He was clear, to the point, and most of all.. fun. On the day of installation he was right on time and he was super efficient. This man is clearly passionate at what he does and it shows in the quality of work that he gives. During the installation, he found some equipment from a previous security system install. Rather than swap it out with his equipment, he told me that it will work just fine with their systems, so he took it off my final bill. When it was time to settle up the bill and do the tutorial on the system, we joked and had a good time while doing it. I feel like one of my good friends just stopped by to help me secure my home. I just bought my first home and had no idea where to begin with a home security system. I almost went with ADT because it was one of the only ones i really knew of but decided to look around a bit before I made a decision and I'm so glad I did! I decided I would start with a google search for the Austin area and Central Security was hard not to look into with it's perfect ratings from all the satisfied customers raving about amazing customer service, knowledge, quick service, and reliability. I figured I would just give them a call and get a price quote but ended up making an appointment with Russell. I had no idea what I was doing or what information he needed from me but he was extremely nice and walked me through it. Dealing with Russell was nothing less than a great experience. He was very nice and understanding about having to come back weeks in a row because I wanted to add upgrades to my security system because, again, I had no idea what I wanted or needed from a home security system. He went beyond my expectations with each trip to my house and we discussed what he thought I needed without being pushy or tring to rip me off. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly and even printed me a new manual to keep because the house didn't come with it. I just had such a great experience getting my home security set up that I wanted to be sure to write Russell at Central Security a 5 star review. I typically hate having any installer in my home without my husband being there. I did not feel this way at all after speaking on the phone with Russell. He was very personable, and was not pushy or trying to sell every piece of equipment available. He talked about all the options and went over basics and extras to let us decide how we wanted to go. I appreciated this since we already knew what we wanted after having monitoring at a previous residence. He was able to come quickly which I also really appreciated, and did the install within the time frame that I needed. I chatted and asked alot of questions which probably slowed him down, but he was able to get it all done in the end. There was a small issue with the keypad location which had to do with the location of the wiring in our house, and he was able to resolve it. He was more particular about the end result than I was as the homeowner. This told me alot about his work ethic and wanting to build a long term business with Central Security. He wanted me to be completely happy before he left which is sadly not the typical kind of service these days. Not only that, but I am confident that if any issues arise later, that he would be back quickly to resolve. One big selling point for me was that going with Russell and Central Security meant no long term contracts. You have the ability to cancel any time with a 90 notice which was very important to me. Not to mention the monthly charges are less than the large competitors for the same service. The bottom line is that I would highly recommend going with Russell at Central Security for installation and/or monitoring needs. I emailed these guys for a quote for a basic alarm for a 1,000 square foot townhome. I didn't need anything fancy, like video monitoring, just wanted an alarm that hooked up to my doors and would be monitored. Imagine my surprise when I got a quote JUST FOR THE EQUIPMENT OF ALMOST $500. I responded asking where the heck that came from -- everything on their website says that it's $100 for basic equipment. The response I got was that that was for the VERY basic alarm system, which clearly wouldn't be good enough for me. Apparently needing the base system and three doors monitored requires $500 in equipment. Uhm, no thanks. read more

Some people install alarms because they have had an incident, some for safety period... I am somewhere in between and feel so much better with it turned on and I promise you that if you go with Central Security you will not regret it! They are amazing. I had a great experience with Russell - he was helpful, honest, the least pushy alarm guy I talked to and just an all around nice person. After our initial call he came out the next day to see if my old system would work (the wires had been cut) and walked me through all of the options I had and helped me get to the best one. He then came out the VERY NEXT DAY for the install! I was so impressed that he was able to squeeze me in and get everything taken care of so quickly. Other companies I spoke with (and I called plenty) were 3 days to 2 weeks before they could even come out, wanted to "give me" an expensive system to replace mine and lock me in on a three year contract and who knows when they would have been there - not Russell, he was on time (even early for the install) and was in and out in an hour! One company I spoke with that thought they could rewire my current system said it would take 7-8 hours?!? How he did it in an hour with everything working perfectly and those guys can't I will never know! There are no long term contracts here, you can cancel any time (not that I am planning on that anytime soon!) with only a 90 day notice which is awesome compared to being locked into a 3 YEAR contract with someone that you don't like. The service fees are lower, he's responsive and has even answered my silly follow up questions via text since yesterday... it was early and I wasn't fully awake when he was here :) You won't regret this choice! These folks are great, they visited within a couple days of my quote request. They looked at the mess of my previous alarm install, salvaged some equipment and added the new technology and gave me the best deal of the three companies I had gotten quotes. Russell had it installed and working in 4 hrs. Very professional install, spent time making sure the system synced with our phones and computer. Tested and retested all systems. I highly suggest you run from this company. I bought an alarm, 5 cameras and a SkyBell. SkyBell rarely worked and they had to come out and replace with a new one. I constantly had to call and fix the doorbell myself over the phone. I had all of these installed at three separate times yet I only received one contract and that was for the original alarm when I told him that I was very dissatisfied with the service he brushed me off and when I requested contracts for the added on services such as the cameras and SkyBell it was never produced. And it clearly states in the contract that if it's malfunctioning that you get a refund I gave him all of this information within 90 days and he still refused to give me any kind of refund and basically said it's your equipment now you deal with it. Then come to find out he wired the SkyBell a certain way so you had to have their alarm systems. I'm out $3000 , only 1 of 3 contracts were produced. Instead of doing the right thing and issuing some kind of refund Patric just argued and argued and shut off services stating he would not reinstate them. I now have to pay more money to have someone fix his tricky ways!! DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY'RE CRAZY CROOKED AND EXPENSIVE. Next a lawsuit. read more

After a terrible experience with ADT in my previous house, I wanted to hire a smaller, preferably local alarm company that provided decent customer service and didn't lock me into a multi-year contract. After reading the Central Security reviews on Yelp about 2 years ago, I retained Central Security ... and I'm so glad I did! Unlike other alarm companies, Jay did not try to sell me anything I didn't need, or lock me into a long term contract. I've been pleased with the service ever since. And every time I've had an issue--like when my system was acting up after a power outage--Jay has always responded promptly, courteously, and resolved my problem quickly. More recently, Jay really went over and above. After losing my job last month, I was looking to cut costs, so I called Jay to cancel my alarm service. He was extremely empathic and generous, and offered me a few months of free service until I got back on my feet. I am so grateful Jay, thank you!!! After a horrible break in last June, my mom was on the hunt for a security system that not only was affordable on her teacher's salary, but reliable. I found out about Central security actually by driving down my street one day and noticing that on my block a good 1/4th of the houses had Central security posts outside their homes. So, I like others reviewing here, researched the company through Yelp and online searches to help my mom out. My mom spoke to Russell, he came out to her house on time as promised, checked the old wiring from ADT my mom used to have in the house back in the '90's, and quoted her for the work and equipment that was needed. The day of instillation, my mom was having work done on all the windows of the house, and luckily Eric who came out to do the work was OK and not bothered by the extra bodies in the house. Eric showed up around 8:30ish if I remember correctly, and was out by 11:30-12, mostly in part because he had to replace some old equipment in the house. But all-in-all, Eric was very helpful, explained how to work the system to my mom who isn't technology savvy, and showed her how to program the system from her smartphone. My mom couldn't have been pleased enough by their courtesy, promptness, and overall friendliness, which is why I'm giving 5 stars for the great feedback I received from her. read more
