HomePro is THE WORST. Product quality, installation services, customer service, transparency, and honesty when it comes to warranties - you name it - they suck at it. They may offer low pricing that seems attractive, but that's because you get what you pay for. They've made a point of forming advantageous partnerships with Texas builders. If they get pushed on you as a new homeowner in the area, run far and fast and find yourself a reputable home monitoring and AV services vendor. This is the worst customer service I have ever had. I would advise you, DONT BUY anything from these people. They will let you hold for literally hours over the phone. And once you purchased a service or a device, you are on your own. On top of that, the people they hire to answer the phone are not particularly trained, so they are even more careless about your concern. The solution I always get from there is "let me put you on hold to connect you to the right department"... and of course, there is NEVER a right department because your problems don't get fixed. read more

Very difficult to schedule with. You can't just call and make an appt or schedule follow ups with your tech. Once I finally got an appt the tech wasn't provided the correct details or amount of time to get the job done. This happened multiple times. Months later the work still isn't complete. The communication within this company is very poor. Our new home was not pre-wired correctly and the stuff that was done, even the installation technicians complained about. The speakers wires in the ceiling weren't long enough for the tech to have some slack to install the speaker. Another speaker didn't even have wire in place. The tech had to climb in the attic to find it and push it through. The wiring for the surround sound system wasn't centered in the living room. The installation tech cut new speaker holes in our ceiling so our sound will be balanced but now we have empty plates where the speakers were originally poorly planned for. The wires for the speakers on our patio aren't at the same height. The left speaker is 3 boards down from the ceiling and the right is 2 boards down. Luckily I pointed it out to the tech or our speakers wouldn't be even. Now we have wire poking out of the back of the right one. As for the security system, the didn't even pre-wire a corner of the house. Everyone's plans showed we're supposed to be pre-wired for 2 cameras on one corner of our house but nobody checked to see if they did it. Another installation person had to come cut holes in our walls then the home builder had to have someone come patch them. And this was only after we escalated the problem through our Home Builder because the call center is not helpful unless you enjoy sitting on hold. We also had our house pre-wired for window and door sensors. They sent the tech out with a wireless panel and stuck battery operated sensors on our doors but didn't do anything with the windows. Our glass break sensor wasn't installed either. Like I said, nobody at the main line can do anything except schedule you another appointment with a 4 hour arrival time window so you get to schedule more time off work. Then their automated system texts multiple times on the wrong day confirming "your appointment for tomorrow". That means you get to sit on hold again just for someone to tell you it's a glitch and your appointment didn't get moved. So back to the security system. We had to escalate the problems through our home builder and HomePro still messed up. The third technician to come out got our hard wired windows and doors connected to the panel but the office sent him out with a wireless glass break sensor. We were told it was going to be taken care of and someone would contact us to schedule another day for us to sit around waiting for someone to show up. Of course here it is a week later and nobody has contacted us. Skip HomePro and find another company that knows how to communicate and has pre-wire techs that know how to use a tape measure. *Update* They finally come to install the glass break sensor but they cut the hole too big so now we have a hole to our attic in the dining room. If you have a new home, be ready to punch a hole in your brand new home cause they don't do wireless. I made a huge mistake signing the contract documents. I was in the midst of closing and getting things sorted out on my first home and this just happened to be one of many documents I was signing at the time. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING! I never had any installation done on my home and now I'm being asked to break their contract which would cost me close to 5k. This is how they make money. They force you into a contract. They're service is just plain awful and you can't get out even if you wanted to. And if they really cared about their customers, they should allow to break contracts on mutual agreements. This company is a scam. You pay so much for the lowest quality grade and oldest equipment they can find from a trash heap. A doorbell that refuses to connect 50% of the time. I ended up just replacing EVERYTHING with a DYI setup and I am much happier. Only issue is that I allowed myself to sign something I did not read. The signing agent either lied or did a contract swap on me because 3 years into it I am told I actually signed a 5 year agreement and have 2 more years to go. And yes, this is the kind of scammy, dirtbag company that would do crap like that to entrap you for longer. You have been warned. So I recently closed on my house. I went with homepro security system because they work with my builders and did my electrical wiring for my house. So I thought win win. Well I Was wrong. After having the system put in for a week my doorbell started to malfunction ringing non stop from 6pm -7am in the morning. Which made it hard on myself and my children to prepare for the following day because we are not getting any sleep due to the door bell and my dogs barking because of the bell. On top of the doorbell ringing. on Thanksgiving night my front door glitched and on the app it stated that the door was not lock so I manually lock it. Next day I'm at work I get an alert that my door is open. When talking with customer service it was never their product it's the builders fault. When I explained I had no problems with my house prior to installing this system. The after hours number is a joke because they dont know how to do anything but say sorry and to call back at 7am. It took them two weeks to come out and fix the bell. Now that the bell is fixed I cannot raised my thermostat above 72degrees without my fire alarm going off. On night it went off at 2am then again at 5:45am. I have asked to cancel service being so It hasnt been 30days of me having this service and they have told me no I would have to pay them $3,340 to get out of the contract with them. I asked why do I have to pay when I'm not happy with the service. Only thing they could say was remove your card from the account. which I think is a set up to try and sue me for non payment. As I'm writing this review I can in after working 16hr shift at work attempting to turn on the heat because we are about to have a freeze and sure enough my fire alarm system went off again. So again I am uncomfortable in my brand new house that I just moved into Oct 31. I really hat that I have signed up with this company and HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. Buyer beware, unlike its competitors you will have to pay a service fee if anything goes wrong with your equipment. They only cover parts if the equipment is malfunctioning. You are better off going with Vivint or ADT where they pay their technicians so you don't have to. Fun fact, the reason my equipment is broken is that they pushed a firmware update that bricked my panel's Z-wave antenna. Now they want 45 dollars to fix it. read more

I unknowingly signed a 5yr contract apparently for a service that they would not let me out of even BEFORE anything was installed as it was a new construction. (If I would have known it was 5yrs, I would have never signed it!) I tried to make the best of it since I was stuck but this has been an absolute joke. They have made so many mistakes it is laughable at this point from installation to scheduling and now even support. The business practices they use are predatory and totally unprofessional and it is all geared toward locking you in with them deeper and deeper. They even don't finish the connections on the pre wire cameras so you basically need to call them and not put a 3rd party camera...that's is crazy! Now on top of all of this, the app SUCKS! I bought a newly built home and the builder was advertising for them. We were told that it would be a one-year contract with them; however, we found out later on that it was a 3-year contract. Signing up for HomePro, was by far the worst decision I have made in my life. We have lost more time energy and money than I ever could have imagined. The whole point of the system is to make you feel more comfortable when you're not at home. Unfortunately we have not been able to use the system properly for longer than a week at a time since purchasing 2 years ago. We have a new issue every week where the system is not functioning properly. Door bell quits working, cameras do not load, sensors randomly set off alarm and the list doesn't end. We have not been able to set the alarm in over a year due to it calling emergency services due to the system failing. Every time the system goes down, the cycle continues. We call the tech support for an hour conversation where the only support we can get is if we pay for a technician to come out to diagnose the new issue. Not to mention the time we have taken off work to make sure someone is home in the 4 hour time window they are suppose to show up. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the system, the customer support and the company as a whole. Why do I pay for a system that has not functioned properly since installed, pay for the emergency service fee when they are dispatched due to a system error, pay for a technician to come fix the broken system and not able to cancel due to the product I was sold is broken. STAY AWAY from the biggest scam you can possibly pay for. This company is suppose to provide comfort and safety to home owners, the only thing it provides is head ache. read more

Home Pro is extremely predatory. They will not allow you to cancel your contract if you have to move unexpectedly. Instead you have to buy out your contract. They do not allow for easy cancellation, as required by most states. You are required to send a PAPER letter in, 60 days in advance. Zero flexibility. Home Pro canceled our appointment last minute via email. Common curtesy would be to pick up the phone and call someone when there is a last-minute cancelation. We set up a sitter because of their rules and took off work. Unfortunately, I called to confirm this is correct and I was placed on hold by someone in customer service with a very poor attitude. Before I my call was addressed, I was sent back to the main menu at the end of the line. It has been over an hour and I'm still on hold to confirm an appointment... Jade with home pro called finally answered and confirmed the appointment for today so we reached back out re-set up our babysitter but had no idea why I was placed back into the main menu. While waiting on hold for a 2nd confirmation I was hung up on. After calling back and being placed in the back of the line for the 3rd time I asked to speak to a manager and am still being placed on hold further. read more

For me has been the worst company I have worked with, I have been waiting to canceled my contract and now that has been 3 years I am trying to cancel it and they said I should send a cancellation notice 60 days prior to the date and the contract renewed for another year and I have to pay $800 to cancel this new contract. It is a comedy we do not live in a country that is easy for a single mom with 2 jobs. They did not put anything easy for customers. They offered a structured wiring package through my builder and No one told me the security system came with it. All I was given was 3 door sensors and a security panel. Now I'm stuck in a 3 yr agreement that isn't even worth it. 3 door sensor for 40 dollars a month is outrageous. Wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. read more
