Request for service are unreliable. It's simply too difficult to get them to respond. I do not recommend especially post purchase.

I don't post often, but I have to say that I had a great experience with Builder Systems Group. I contacted BSG to purchase speakers and have them installed, as well as for calibration of my new receiver. Christopher Hall assisted me with the purchase and setting up the delivery, installation and calibration. Chris did a great job. Chris was friendly, knowledgeable, and very accessible. The price was right, and there were no hidden costs. The sales experience exceeded my expectations. Tim Cruz was my installer. Tim was fantastic. He went above and beyond to get my system set up exactly as I wanted it. I had lots of questions and Tim addressed all my needs and more. The experience with Tim also exceeded my expectations. Most transactions these days are pretty unremarkable, but not this one. My experience with BSG was outstanding. I highly recommend them and will absolutely use their services again in the future. read more

We worked with BSG through our homebuilder during covid so we had to deal with them over the phone. We added prewired surround sound installation with speakers in our living room, patio and upstairs media room. The problems started happening after our house was completed. Red Flag #1:BSG never came out to explain how to use our prewired systems and to check about installation. We had to contact them about instructions and then we were advised to also purchased amplifiers for the speakers to work. So HORRIBLE service if they can't even set up an appointment to go over services they provide for their customer. #2: We ended up setting our audio and amplifier with another audio company and found out they prewired our patio surround sound connection incorrectly. They connected our patio surround sound to our living room. So we called BSG about the issue and after speaking with multiple ppl they said that we wanted it installed that way. WTF? Are you kidding me, my husband and I are fuming because they basically called us liars and logically, why would we want our surround sound patio installation connected to our living room if we purchased prewired installation for our 3 rooms: patio, living room and upstairs media room. That's completely dumb! We called BS on BSG and their excuse was that they have had strange requests from customers. Note: if you have strange requests then there should be documentation and both parties should sign for this request. #3 NO signed documentation from both parties regarding the special request of prewired installation, only what the rep said. Our construction manager with our homebuilder have supported and tried to fight for us to fix the issue. We stated we would pay for additional material if needed but not labor for the installation to be corrected but BSG won't remedy the issue. We are fed up and it's been a nightmare with BSG! HORRIBLE service, LACK of professionalism, communication and transparency. BEWARE and stay completely away! Better luck with other honest audio companies! read more

BSG installed the data and coax cabling for our new home in Round Rock. I work with professional structured cabling companies daily as part of my job. The work they performed was sub-par and not to industry standards nor manufacturer specifications. I contacted BSG regarding the below issues and received no response. - Lack of cable support, tension in suspended runs (see above garage and other areas) - Bed radius (cable stress bend) beyond allowed specification - lots of sharp 90 degree bends pulled tight around framing, runs will likely not pass testing. - No service loop - the cable that was re-ran for the back patio security camera extends just a few inches past where it will terminate. - Cable pulled across garage attic at 45 degrees, weight unsupported. Also unnecessarily blocks that area from being used for future attic storage. - Lots of visible knots in data cabling, will cause signal issues read more

Just moved to pflugerville 2 months ago and moved into a new home. Well it did not take long for all of the Security Companies to start ringing the doorbell. We had originally planned to go with ADT since we have had them for 20 years in Ca. The guy that stopped by spoke to my wife and she mentioned that we were new to the area and were from Ca. He said oh I will give you a great deal. She said he would have to talk to me so he left and called me the next day. His great deal was $20 over what we were paying. I let him have it when he told me the deal. Sorry back to BSG I agreed to meet with Willie Pacheco and my first impression was he was a little to sales like for my taste. I told him I needed time to think it over and he followed up with me a few times till I was ready to buy the service. I hate to be Sold things but I enjoy Buying things. Big difference in my opinion. Willie came back and I told him I wanted everything ready to go and we needed to keep it short. He had all paperwork ready to go and we completed the transaction very quickly. My new-to-me home had BSG installed equipment already. I called several monitoring companies, but BSG/Willie was the most responsive, and the best priced. Willie sent me the contract via DocuSign, but I didn't like how the edits where showing up (i'm picky - it's a contract!) so he came out to me to do it the old school way =) Steven was the tech. He called in well ahead of his appt to tell me he was on his way, and promptly showed up. Without my prompting =), Steven donned booties over his shoes. He added a new cellular model and nicely tidied up all the wires. He configured the MyQ garage controller, and showed me how to use the system via keypad and alarm.com app. There was an ipcam already part of the house, however Steven explained they weren't reliable. He didn't have any on his truck, so he went back to the office and came back well within the time he promised, and configured an Arlo camera and showed me how to use that as well. I have to say that the install crew with the Austin office of Builder Security Group are awesome! The crew installed a complete surround sound system, Ring Video doorbell and hung two TV's. One of the TV's was an 82 inch monster. The installation was very neat and professional. Great care was taken to prevent a messy install by laying ground cloths under the ceiling speaker locations. When the crew was finished, you could not even tell workers had been in the house. They cleaned up every speck of dust. Everyone should get them to install a video doorbell. The thing I liked best about Builder Security Group is their willingness to stay until the job was done and explain everything every step of the way. I'm very happy with the final result. I can now check the exterior of my house anywhere I am, 24-7, with an easy-to-use app. Pricing was fair (they even adjusted the final bill downward based on actual labor hours vs. estimated) and the work was done on-time and in a professional and courteous manner. Oh yelp, if only there was a zero star option. This company is a total joke. They do 5 year contracts with 80% due for early termination...even if you're moving & they can't transfer service. Which perhaps would be tolerable (eh, probably not) if the service wasn't so terrible! Seriously, this company is a freaking sham...and good luck getting anywhere with customer service. Took months for them to replace 2 faulty keypads & then the refurbished, non-matching, dollar store replacements also broke...those have yet to be replaced. Avoid this company...unless you are prepared for a serious commitment with a disappointing & expensive outcome! read more

Beware of this company!!! One star is to much credit. They have unqualified ppl working for their company and do not care to correct their mistakes. They send ppl to meet you that are clueless and expect you to know the lingo of what is needed. I also waited patiently for a response on the corrections from JR who came out and met me at my house to see what needed to be corrected just to be blown off without a call back. I had to contact him 3 weeks later just from him to tell me they were not going to fix messed up pre-wire without charging me for the company sending someone to meet me that was total clueless of what i wanted. Now i have an nonfunctional office space that I must run a long cord through my living-room to my bedroom to get a functional phone line bc the phone line in the office space is total worthless. Of course, I had no choice to use this company since it was through the builder. Builders Security Group definitely would not be a choice of installation of pre-wiring my home. read more
