Of the 4 bids I requested, Wire Genie came in the middle in price but Eric was heads and above in his consideration and scoping of the task whereas many other installers seemed to be guestimating effort. Eric had a number of helpful suggestions both from camera positioning to running lines for future use and he did a phenomenal job on running a POE Doorbell camera behind brickwork and only needing one access cut that, at his suggestion, we put a 2-outlet blank faceplate over for future access/maintenance if needed. All cables were carefully labeled and terminated into my server rack patch panel. Awesome work!

Eric is now that guy for me with networking. My home has never had good internet. It was built before internet was much of a thing, it's stone, has radiant barrier, outdated connections, nonstandard shape, etc. I prepped Eric for these challenges among others and told him I had very high standards. He was undeterred and we set up a consultation. Eric had to have really impressed me, as I let him drill through stone which is highly uncharacteristic of me. I now have rock solid WiFi both inside and outside my house ~600Mbps for an extended distance and constant speeds over Ethernet even faster than that. We did encounter some issues, however, Matt had his team work with us to correct them as we encountered them (i.e. faulty pre-wire causing false-positives on the alarm). I was really looking forward to a beautiful flush mount install of our TVs in every room (especially the living, game, and media rooms) and he delivered. We paid way too much for Brinks monitoring and equipment. 5 stars for True Protection; 0 stars for Brinks. Ask True Protection to not use Brinks for monitoring your system.

The initial sales call went super well, they got out to replace our vivint system within a week which is where the problems started. It took them no less than EIGHT TRIPS to finally get the initial install finished, and each tech they sent badmouthed the work done by the other techs, and management was utterly clueless and absolutely incompetent. The install work was incredibly sloppy, and we had to have painters out to repair all teh damage they did to our walls. They used a weird hodge podge of equipment and software, and we remain deeply unsatisfied. AVOID like the plague.

I wanted to update my A/V equipment to improve both the stereo music and surround sound in our…read morefamily room (not a dedicated home theater). After researching equipment I found that ALP offered one of two A/V receiver brands, the Audio Control AVR series, that could compensate for the difficult aspects of the room (wood floors, lots of glass, open kitchen concept) because they can be calibrated with DIRAC. Able came to my home to access the situation and concluded the receiver and calibration would definitely improve my stereo sound and modestly improve my surround sound. After installation I realized a dramatic improvement in both! The ALP team also installed a motorized fireplace mount (very cool!), and reconfigured all of my other A/V equipment for the best connections to the new AVR-9 receiver. Excellent job!
